I'm writeing a pre-review. The game is to come out soon, and I just wanted to write this to get ahead of the game. I have been following the game for a while. This game should be really great when it comes out. The plot of the game is sort of like UO, and Everquest. Only that your in World War 2. You take missions and try to defeat the enemy. Its a totally 3D, totally 1st Person game. You take the spot land, sea or air. You can be a solider or tank crew or piolet or ship hand in an online 3D game. I won't even go into the details of how realistic the game is. One really cool feature is if you want to take out a tank, you don't just have to blow it up. You could shoot the driver through the slit in the driver seat, or throw a granade in the top, or blow the treds off or shoot the driver when he pops his head out the top, or any other way that a tank was taken out in World War 2. Also the war is planned out by real commanders, beople who pay the game and worked there way up in rank. Also the units are true to the time and historically acurate, so you will have to wait for 1942 in the game, to be a US solider and fly the B-17, but you could always be a tank commander while you wait. I highly recommend this game. *****

This game had promise but now due to certain changes, it is no longer something for the casual gamer to enjoy. Unless you have 3-6+ hours to play, don't bother. It takes that long to usually complete a few missions and that's if you're lucky. The only way to get any action is to play as a rifleman which basically means you're nothing but cannon fodder for any tank you might encounter. If you want to drive tanks or fly aircraft, find another game. WWII Online makes you wait up to 3 hours before you can get one.
DON'T BUY, GET BATTLEFIELD 1942 INSTEAD!

I have a brand new computer, and I could not get this game to work on it. I tried again and again, but it always froze. I checked and double checked the requirements, but othing worked. Then about a year later, I read about battlefeild 1942. Although i figured I would eventually get it, I was going to wait a bit, I was nervous after this games huge dissapointment. Then I got the game as a gift. I have played a lot of WWII games. But Battlefield 1942 is easily the best. Sense it was made after this game, It obiusly leared from this games mistakes.
Has promise but doesn't look complete

This game has the potential to be something great. Unfortunately it appears that the game is being rushed out the door before it is completed to a satisfactory condition.
I would wait on this purchase until the game has been released. In time it will be great, but if you want to save yourself headaches and frustration pass this up until a significant number of post release reviews are published.
The game will include infantry, tank and air operations. But the naval part of the game will not be released until sometime afterwards.
If you are looking for a simulation and first person shooter game in a persistent world environment based off of a World War 2 theme then this game might be for you. I would recommend revisiting it two-four weeks after release before deciding to buy.
Great Game and getting better

Sure it had a rough start but the guys at Cornered Rat Software have been working their butts off to save this game. I have been playing it for about a month and am delighted to say that it runs well on my computer (unless in the air) under reasonable detail and resolutions and I am under the reccomended steps. Despite Its bad begginning this game is exactly the kind of Virtual Battlefield that was marketed before. PLus they are also adding more and more to it every patch which come almost every month.
It rox!

I've been with WWII Online since it first came out. I took a break for a year, since the game wasn't really finished when it came out. But now I've been back for 4 months, and I /love/ it!
The amount of depth, realism and downright heart-throbbing action is unsurpassed! I kid you not, my palms are sweaty when I fly around, and no other game is able to get me this riveted.
It's damage model is better than anything else out there, it's realism is unsurpassed, and it is continously under development, so it'll only get better and better.
Someone said you had to wait up to 3 hours for a tank or a plane.. What kind of BS is that?? To whomever wrote that review; Some games take more than 5 minutes to learn.
If you're a gamer that want instant action and gratification, go for something else.
But if you're a gamer who's willing to sacrifice a little time and effort to gain skill and knowledge.. There is /nothing/ better out there!
Cheers

World War 2 On-Line: Blitzkrieg is game filled with the intensety of the World War II battle field and chaleges anyone who trys to make thier steps into a war where death is a common visator. The game seams [not cool] at first but with about 15min to 30min you are lovin every second of it. World War 2 On-Line: Blitzkrieg alows your to combat in figher planes, Bombers, Tanks, Antiair, Antitank, ships, and Infanty (whitch i think is the most fun.) All combat is etirly online and is complete with the easy login and sign up. The game is not just any online game, this game is masivly multyplayer. In a massivly multiplayer game the game never ends and the war between the allies and the axis forces contiues on and can be won by eather side. (Have to go to class, editing compleation, and spellcheck will be done later today)
Don't Judge it yet......

Yes, it does have problems. Yes, it may not work perfectly. Yes, you do need a good computer. But keep in mind a few points.
1.) This game has IMMENSE potential but can only live up to that with your input and help. I.E. (play the game).
2.) They have improved alot on it. In terms of fixing a game which is still running, its immprovement is tremendous.
3.) For all those ppl out there who are trying to run the good new games on bad, old machines, WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU EXPECTING!? That these huge multi billion dollar corparations would comform for your benefit so that the piece of (...) you have in the kitchen can run anything and everything!? NO! AND EXCUSE BLITZKRIEG FOR PUSHING THE ENVELOPE A LITTLE!
When all is said and done, Blitzkrieg, along with its add-ons, could possibly create a new genre of computer games. A genre where entire battles are fought out online, while you drink your Diet Coke. Kill a charater playing in China and have enough time left over to meet some friends for dinner. Mabye we should give this game a chance. It might end up beinginng a good idea.
One Star for play - One star for concept.

When this game was released in June, it had issues. We all said "just give it a couple of months, it will work its self out."
Well, it's subscription based now, six months, and the quality is still suffering.
I really, really wanted this to work. The concept of this was so impressive that it alone earns bonus points.
But, sadly, that massive concept was also the downfall of it. Trying to be everything, it manages to be nothing well.
Save those Christmas dollars (and the monthly fee) for something more robust.
This is such an awsome concept, I find it hard to believe some company with stronger coding ability will not attempt a project like this again.
