Just a note to those who enjoy darkness

Basically, this is just a comment made after playing a bit of the opening Normandy sequence, and perhaps it is unfair for the game as a whole. But the opening sequences of this game are basically played in the dark, and if you really think this is an enjoyable game in spite of this, you are welcome to spend your money (but close the curtains and turn up your screen brightness or you won't see ANYTHING for quite some time). Be aware that "computer dark" is not "real dark," where your other senses play an important role). I have found this quite irritating and not much fun so far, though the game is so predictable after a try or two that it would be hard to fail. It's unrealism carried to the tenth degree in the name of realism. Boring.
Great! (but short)

This is a fantastic add-on to the original - better graphics and sound effects. Being a military historian specializing in this theater of operations, it is accurate and the sounds effects are superb! EA Still has some challenges with the graphic renderings of the people, but that is really minor compared to the play-abilty of this add-on! The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars is that I would recommend waiting until this got to a [lower] price as it is much shorter than I had anticipated and does not add too much more to the original outside of several more missions/new weapons etc... Still, I recommend buying this if you liked the first. I am also watching EA's website to see if EA is planning to add more to this line - like the Italian theater of operations and perhaps the abilty to choose which side to play on - Axis or Allied... They should release a soundtrack CD to this series - the music is that good!
I played the Demo ...

Let's start by saying I was a huge fan of MOHA:Allied Assault. And clearly EA are targetting people like me with this add-on. It's extremely short. I mean really s-h-o-r-t! The box claims 9 new single-player levels when in fact there's only 3. I finished this on the first night of play after about 3 hours on the medium difficulty setting. Yes - 3 hours. This is the shortest excuse for an add-on I've ever experienced. EA claim there's 12 new multiplayer maps and loads of new weapons too. But who wants to play online against a bazillion people you don't know. And their claim of new weapons doesn't hold much water either - I didn't see anything different from the original MOHA.
The graphics are the same high quality, the sound too. Gameplay is as good as the original, but for $34 for 3 hours-worth of game? Forget it. Buy a dodgy copy off e-bay for a couple of bucks and don't give EA the satisfation of ripping you off.
The three-star rating is because it's as fun to play as the original. I'd give the overall rating zero stars.
You've got to be kidding me!

Don't get me wrong, this game is immensely fun to play (I think it was better than the original)...all four hours that it took to complete. Come one, you've got to be kidding me! I want my 30 dollars back. I really feel ripped off. 4 hours? It's like a CD single, one good song and that's it. Ridiculous. Don't buy it or you're going to be p...sed off too.
Can you say laggy?

I was very excited to see Medal of Honor: Allied Assault get an expansion added to it. Now, after playing it, I am greatly disappointed. I enjoyed playing MoHAA, and even though it had its problems, it still was fun to play. The only thing that lagged would be the server. Multiplayer was very fun. So now I have Spearhead and when you pick any online server, it always lags. I have an AMD 1600+ (1.4 ghz) Athlon, 512 mb DDR RAM, a Geforce4 MX 440 video card, and Windows 2000 Professional. I'm on DSL. When I play Battlefield 1942, it hardly lags because EA got smart and got some OC-X servers (very fast). Until you get an update of them doing this, my advice is to not play multiplayer. On to single player. Now this I will admit, great design and gameplay, but could we leave out the lag? NO, its one big problem. If you keep your video settings low, this game won't lag. I enjoyed playing single player, this is why you should buy this game. Until multiplayer is fixed some way, it will bite the dust.

I was reading about some of the recent reviews a read about one with blood and new features....... Well, i just thought i'd break it to you guys that if you want blood and new effect or stuff like that, why dont you just download mods? You guys want blood, maps or new explosions and skins? Go download some mods, and im sure that if you had those mods you'd give this game 5 stars!
If I had brought it when it first came out.....

I would be mad but since I picked it up cheap i'm ok with it.
Nice try I guess the gameplay is as good as ever and some of the single player missions (the British commando missions) are great fun. But come on 9 new single player missions? Does anyone else feel robbed?
The game really falls flat in multiplayer though it is almost identical to Allied assault. There is not even any of the cool weaponry from the single player missions. There is also another thing while there have been mods made of the existing maps no one has sat down and bothered to write new maps (at least none that I have ever seen). This is true for both allied assault and spearhead. So over all the game feels flat and the only trick to being good in the multiplayer is to know where all the hiding places are. Once you have the experience and know where the hiding places are you can blast the poor newbies like fish in a barrel.

Yes its a short game and the easy difficulty level is too easy. The original Medal of Honor on the same setting was harder. Spearhead's opening having your character parachute behind enemy lines, though short, beautifully recreated the same scene from the mini-series, Band of Brothers. The missions involving manning a half-track cannon and the one trying to protect a medic while escorting him to your injured commanding officer are tedious and frustrating and most likely were created to give the sense the game is longer than it really is. This techniques is typical in console games. The game is also overly priced for a game that doesn't provide a lot of new features. I am comparing this to Diablo II Lord of Destruction which increased resolution, added new character classes, increased inventory, added new items, etc. basically a truly new game.
