The Best in FPS History...

Allied Assault Spearhead as well as its predecessor are by far the best shooters I've ever played. Unreal Tournament 2003, for examle, falls short of it, simply because I dislike its style. More specifically, it's too fast paced and you feel like you're a Ferrari and everyone you're trying to shoot are also Ferrari's. It gets VERY frustrating. MOHAA's game speed is perfect for a war FPS. I can't seem to find any flaws in the game. The multiplayer aspect of the game is worth the retail price alone. Sound is the best I've ever heard. VERY addictive gameplay. It's a game that's going to result in forgetting what food is. I also sometimes find myself craving for the gun action in the middle of something I'm doing. Could be kind of scary but what can I do...Buy this game.

All too often is the Soviet Union left out of WWII games, even though almost 60% of the dead in the War were Soviet citizens. The last level of Medal of Honor: Spearhead, "Road to Berlin", fixes this. Though not especially historically accurate -Berlin was taken in May of 1945, not January, and the "new" T-34 model came out in 1943, and not '45, as the game implies- everything else is perfectly realistic. From D-Day to Berlin, I enjoyed the game immensely.
The game includes two previously missed but major battles: Bastogne and Berlin. Bastogne was the most fun to play, especially defending the frontline against the Germans. D-Day was included in the original.
Overall, the game fixed one major problem of Allied Assault by adding British and Russian troops to the mix. It also made gameplay smoother and multiplayer more fun. Thank you, EA Games!

I am a big player of MOHAA and I am glad that they have taken the game and added an expansion. After all, who doesn't want to have more guns, levels, and baddies to enjoy?
The only problem is that it is still just MOHAA with new additives. I'm not saying the game is to be quaffed at for this, but I am saying that it should only be looked at for what it is...Medal of Honor with a few extras.
No new engine tweaks, no blood, no new multiplayer options; this is why the pack doesn't deserve more than three stars. However, if you liked MOHAA than give it an extra star and a half. If EA were to release the full editing tools with this pack, they would get five stars, but they won't so they don't.
Keep up the fragging and roll those nades, that is all that you need to enjoy this game!

This game was long awaited by most gamers obssessed by WWII 1st person shooters, but don't get your hopes up. This expansion pack is far too short in single player, with no improvment from the problems of the previous game.
There are sound problems with rifle fire, and extreme lag on virtually all multiplayer servers, regardless of their speeds. This lag simply didn't exist before for gamers with a cable modem.
Furthermore, filter selection for "ommitting full servers" does not work in multiplayer, a serious "oops".
The game was released with much work needing to be done.
The story line is a plus, for even though it is fiction, it is set behind the historical backdrop events of the end of WWII. When the rifle sound does work, it sounds great.
Finally, the largest drawback to this game is in its multiplayer, where vitually any kind of cheat and modification can be implemented simply on the server hosting the game, thereby removing almost any fun from the multiplayer. This is somewhat common in most multiplayer games, but it was exceptionally ramapant in Spearheads predecesor. There's always someone cheating or rigging (with mods) in some form or fashion. As mentioned earlier, this was a serious drawback to Allied Assualt, where the person with the most cheats was the winner. The cheats were all over the web, and relatively easy to implement. Unfortuneatly has not been made right in the expanision pack. In other words, if you are a long-time first-person mode gamer - skip it.
Not bad, but should have been better

Is this expansion worth it? Short answer, no. It's way too short! When the credits started rolling I was almost in shock! I couldn't believe how quick the thing went. No, I didn't play non stop until I beat it. Although there were some parts in a few levels that I had to do a number of times, it was almost too easy. I'd say no more than a couple of hours to play it from start to finish. I didn't even use most of the new weapons since I never had to change them in game. Yes, driving the tank was cool. But that in itself isn't worth the purchase price.
If you're hardcore about these kinds of games, by all means get it. But if you're on the fence: wait for it to go down in price. $30 is a bit much to be paying for this mini expansion.
Too short, Too scripted

The Medal of Honour that reappears in this expansion pack looks better than ever with explosive special effects and new, blow 'em away weapons. You also get to fight alongside comrades who can hold their own, which lends some authenticity to the game. Just as the first was shamelessly modelled on Saving Private Ryan, this contains scenes straight out of Band of Brothers, which is kinda fun too.
Spearhead, however, is even more tightly scripted (if that is possible) than its predecessor. You can't so much as shoot out of turn if you want to complete your objectives. Annoyingly, a lot of it also takes place in the dark or in murky landscapes.
In tandem with this, it reintroduces some of the most irritating aspects of the last game, such as snipers who are invisible in the gloom and at least one finicky finale in which you have to constantly save just to make it through the scene. Lastly, it does not include enough of the things that made the last one fun, such as rooms full of enemy to shoot at.
Oh, and as others have noted here, it is very short -- too short to be worth 20 bucks. I got through it in a couple of hours without hurrying and have no inclination to play it again.
A kick (...) game with Kick (...) affects.

I only played one level in the game allied assault and it was so cool, and I beat the game in frontline.now with the Battle of the bulge in here and the 101st Airborne in, it will be a award winning action pack game.It is kind of like the HBO hit BAND OF BROTHERS.But any way keep up the good work and i assure you this is just a satisfied consumer who made a wise investmeant in buying this game.
Thank you:Daniel

Spearhead was rushed out too fast and not enough good stuff was put in. MOHAA was the best FPS out there, but the greedy guys over @ EA Games messed it all up w/this expansion pack. Gameplay is REALLY short, and multiplayer gets a B becausethe Tug Of War maps were cool. New guns really didn't make a difference in gameplay, and could have been put out in a patch. Graphics definitely went down, and you never even get to use the American weapons except for the first level. If you liked MOHAA, buy it, but buy it REALLY cheap.
Great Fun!

First off, let me start by refuting some previous reviews. This game does not run a bad frame rate if you TURN DOWN SOME OF THE GRAPHIC SETTINGS. Even after they are turned down, the game looks great. And there are NO annoying snipers.
Admittedly, the single player is short. But it is a total blast when playing! Yes, it is scripted, but the first time through that scripting makes it all the better! The sound is incredible, the graphics amazing, the gameplay awesome, and the weapons are cool. And the attention to detail is simply incredible. i.e. When you plant a 'sticky bomb' in the rain, the fuse will fizzle out, and you will have to shoot it to get it to blow up!
Most people don't realize that Spearhead is mainly multi-player. Tons of new maps, and the really cool new mode of gameplay Tug of War.
If you liked Allied Assault you must get this game!
Good fun but WAY too short..

Nice missions, good gameplay, but MUCH too short. I completed the three missions in about 3 hours of playing. Not good value for £20
