EXPANSION PACK

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 9
Date: December 07, 2002
Author: Amazon User

For all the people that say that this is alot shorter than the original game it is because it is an EXPANSION PACK. No expansion packs are as big as the original for these games we like to call them sequels. For example Big Game Hunter 3 has an expansion pack just adding a couple guns and a couple new levels, but when you make a new game in this case Big Game Hunter 4 will be the only time you see the game close to the size of the original game. So sumerized this means in size wise expansion packs can be expected to be small, if you want a full size game wait for the sequel. I've never played the game so ignore my rating.

Five Stars for FUN!

I absolutelt loved Allied Assault so I also was extremely excited to hear about Spearhead. I agree with everyone else who says that the game is too short but can you honestly say that this expansion or basically extra missions which is about what the expansion pack amounts to were not extremely FUN! Personally I found some of the missions to be the best of the entire allied assault game period, for example the stage where you blow the bridge up. I mean sure the game is pretty short, but it's not pathetic or anything. I personally am extremely satisfied with Spearhead and feel that I got my money's worth.
I also love to play online as well and have not noticed any lag issues that some of you speak of. I do run a cable modem, but is that not what you were referring to? I have no lag what so ever. The new multiplayer missions are the bomb! I highly recommend this game to anyone who loved MOHAA. I personally give the game 5 stars. However I can see where some people may have been disappointed with the length of the game. The bare minimum that this game would ever deserve is 3 1/2 stars, and that would have to be from someone who really doesn't care for MOH. Plain and simple, for me at least, Medal of Honor Allied Assault with Spearhead Expansion is my personal favorite game PERIOD. The only other expansion pack that could change my mind in the upcoming near future would have to be the Wolfenstein expansion, time will tell, I do hope that there is a little more to that however.

Excellent Game, Excellent series

This trifle of a game is but one of the 4 (as of now) excellent games in the Medal of Honor(tm) series (not including expansion packs). This, I believe, is the absolute best game in the series. You are a soldier by the name of Lt. Mike Powell. Your mission is to help stop the Nazi war machine dead in its tracks. Start in the hot desserts of north Africa, Travel to frigid tundra of Norway, to the bloody beaches of Normandy. Sneak through dangerous enemy-occupied territory and rescue a G3 officer, infiltrate a small French town and steal King Tiger Tank, and paradrop into the heart of Germany and infiltrate the impenetrable Fort Schmerzen in the Siegfried Forest.
Now, a warning: this game gets extremely difficult and exciting in this game. Your enemy will not always be caught off guard. However, when you succeed, the reward is worth the trouble.
In addition to single player missions, you may battle your friends in multiplayer in four different modes: free for all, team match, round-based match, and objective match. Every single mode is extremely fun. You may also join gaming clans and have al-out wars with rival clans. Download mods and skins to make your gameplay even more fun (which is almost unimaginable). You can even download custom maps for single-player missions or multiplayer missions!
I hope this review helps you make your decision to buy this game a bit easier.

OK, There is still some good fun in it

Well, I'm sure that pretty much all Medal of Honor fans would find some fun in the levels. Some of the levels were very fun while some were downright irritating. It is only ten bucks and I think that for ten bucks it is a good buy, but I definitely wouldn't buy it if it was like $35. I do like some of the new guns quite a bit, and the models are more fun to shoot. There definitely was some fun parts.
PROs Improved AI, Better Graphics, Fun Guns, Interesting levels, Currently Cheap
CONs Requires a lot of video power, some irritating as heck sniper levels, boring half track level, short, couple of confusing levels, and too short
Good, but for the same price Breakthrough is a better buy

Excellent

Good mindless fun.

Online battles excellent. Game could have used some better controls to cut down on some of the obvious cheats (fiddling with gun accuracy, bunny hopping, slowed networks) but still a good time.

Did the Original, did this too.............

It was a very nice addition to the original and great for summer time off from work. There were some usual "how in the hell do you do this?" things that went on like the original but none that couldn't be figured out without a little time and effort. Excellent if you liked the first set. Now we can all wait til the next series from the Pacific comes out.

Well worth it!

Great game! Very challanging and intense. As long as you have a system that can handle the graphics, you should have a blast. My only wish is that it would contain more missions. Overall, good job.

OUTSTANDING, SOLDIER!!

This game is great! One of the best games I have ever played, and I've played a lot of computer games. Will be purchasing MOH: BREAKTHROUGH tomorrow 09/23/03.. and PACIFIC ASSAULT in January. If you like this game, I would also recommend you picking up CALL OF DUTY (from the makers of Medal of Honor) in November 2003. Don't miss any of these games. Medal of Honor is a pure thoroughbred winner!

A Quality Game

It only took me 5 hours after I had bought the game that the twenty bucks were well worth it. The new missions are incredible, and instead of the one vs. entire German Army like the first game, this time you are entrenched and the Germans attack you. I have found that this game offers more of a challenge for those that thought that Allied Assault was too easy. I played the very beggining of the first mission on easy for hlaf-an-hour before I even got out of one house. I would definately nominate this game as a must-buy. In my book, nothing can compete with this game.

Uh? Was it supposed to be like this?

This game is an expansion of one of the greatest games of all times. The expansion adds to it in some ways. The graphics are slightly inhanced, and the sound in this game is amazing. There are a lot of downsides in this game though. This game is realistic, it makes the gameplay work slower than the original did. And the loading times are sometimes unacceptable. This game has plenty of new features but are ruined by the slow, jerky motions. The new levels are very fun, up until you get to a certain point. The difficulty raises up to a maximum at the middle of the second level. I was very dissapointed with the game play. I would only recommend it to people who don't mind getting frustrated, and people with a very fast computer.
Here are the ratings(Scale of 10):
Graphics: 9.2
Sound: 9.7
Speed: 3.8
Frustration (higher=worse): 8.6
Environment: 8.9
A.I.: 10
Fun (higher=more): 9
Loading time: 5.1
Overall: ~8.6
(Try to just borrow it from friends. They will probably give it away happily)
