It's hard to explain all the great things with this game. The smooth and colorful graphics, outstanding controls with the Wii remote and nunchuk, and it's that not enough, it's freakin' Metroid!! This is by far the pinnacle of what Metroid stands for. A vast innovative FPS/platformer that is fully interactive and enjoyable. Although, the difficulty is not as hard as the previous two games, sometimes you feel as if the game is handing you the clues each step of the way. Metroid Prime 2 was good, but there was too much stuff to scan, and it made it feel like a burden to scan everything in a room before you could try to solve the puzzle it contained. Metroid prime 3 still has the scan feature to research your enemies and lore, but it's not as tedious. Overall, I recommend this game to any Wii owner, this game helps put the Wii on the map even further in the fight against the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Metroid lovers rejoice! This is what we've been waiting for.

When I first heard about this game during development, I was hesitant. I wondered if using the new controllers would get in the way. In the end, it took some playing, but I think I've got it down.
Nintendo has taken interactivity to a whole new level. You no longer have to just shoot doors to get to the next room. There's new locks to unravel and can use hand motions to unlock the locks (as seen even in the beginning "intro" part of the game).
They've also taken the grappling hook to a whole new level. I won't say what because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who's not played the game, but it plays into the above.
The bosses, while not necessarily really difficult, did make you think about what you were doing. If they aren't challening enough, the game comes with more than 1 difficulty level.
One of my favorite parts is the hyper mode. It certainly does allow you to do a lot of damage over a short amount of time, but be careful!!! It's also very easy to use up all of your energy tanks as a result. Whether you beat a boss or not can all depend on how wisely and when you use the hyper mode.
Like the previous 2 games, you sometimes have to travel between areas to get a power-up. In this case, that's still true, but also has you traveling between planets!

I found MP: Corruption to be an outstanding addition to the Metroid series.
Each subsequent evolution of the Metroid series combines what's great about the past versions along with the capabilities of the latest console. In this case, Corruption sticks with what has always worked:
* Solid basic story and mission with the typical mini-boss fights, etc.
* Extensive gameplay (the usual back and forth between worlds as you upgrade weapons/suit and gain access to new areas is a stalwart of the Metroid series
The new twist is how Nintendo has adapted the series to the Wii console:
* All the FPS features of the Wii to allow you to truly feel like you're aiming and firing at those annoying Space Pirate.
* You can now grapple enemies and objects beyond just the traditional grapple points - get ready to practice a strong YANK!
* Greater interaction with control panels and other objects (like pulling airlock controls, etc.) - I'm less crazy about this feature since I found it slightly tedious to do the pulling, turning and twisting.
* The new Phazon suit is challenging - it's a great weapon but it's pulling on your life force so you have to be careful when/how long you use it
All in all, another great Metroid title from Nintendo. If you like the series, I doubt you'll be disappointed with how they've adapted it to the Wii.

This is definitely a "near" 5 star game - maybe 4.7 stars. They should of called it Evolution as this game has changed how this the series is played with the new control scheme. The controls are so much better and in fact I would never want to play Metroid Prime 1 or 2 again due to this fact. It's so natural now to play it with the Wiimote. It just feels right.
NOTE: Make sure you are using Advanced mode for Sensitivity. Don't use the default.
It IS the best looking Metroid Prime game to date. In fact, it IS also the best looking game on the Wii to date (as of 9/2007). If anyone can't see that then you are blind or biased against the Wii. The Metroid Prime 3D engine has definitely been updated. It has more detailed and larger environments, more complex backgrounds, crap loads of particle effects and better textures. Just look around and you will notice so much that just wasn't possible in the previous games. That's right, look around and enjoy the game and environment.
The voice acting is a welcome new addition (and well done I might add) as it just makes the game more alive and draws you in. Hopefully more Nintendo titles will start using voice work as they have done with Prime.
Yes, it feels similar to the previous games because it's the same Metroid formula and therefore the same core design standpoints are intact (explore, scan, fight, upgrade, backtrack, etc). If you never cared for Metroid games, then this game isn't really going to change your view.
Final thoughts, this is one hell of a polished game, the best looking Metroid so far, the best game on the Wii so far (as of 9/2007). This is a must have if you have a Wii.
A Great Ending to a Trilogy of Games

Metroid prime 3 is the epic ending of the Metroid Prime Triliogy, which originally started on the Nintendo Gamecube. Although it uses a first person perspective and is considered by many to be a FPS, the Metroid Prime series is in no way a FPS. It involves many RPG, Puzzle, and Action elements. The biggest difference between Metroid priem 3 and the others is the fact that you use a Wii Controller. The Wii controller feels perfect for this game, and although it may take a while to get used to the controls, it feels great when you get the hang of it. One other nice addition to Metroid Prime is the fact that Samus, the lead character, isn't all alone. You start out in a space ship with tons of troops, which is a nice change of pace. Overall I highly recommend you check out Metroid Prime 3 if you've played the others before or you're looking for a game to dust off that Wii!

Right now, this is probably one of the top 5 "must haves" for the Wii. FPS-type games used to be frustrating and clunky on consoles, but now that the Wii has arrived, it opens up a whole new level of control that's often as good as, and sometimes better than a simple keyboard and mouse combo like you would find on a computer.
The controls in Metroid Prime 3 are great, though not quite as fluid and exact as those found in Resident Evil 4 (another definite "must have" for the Wii), but that's not a fault necessarily as the controls are designed around a different set of objectives than you'd find in RE4. I'd say that it should take around 10 to 20 minutes to get familiar with the controls and maybe a total of an hour's play time to get totally proficient. That's not a particularly steep learning curve, and those more familiar with FPS games on the PC will likely cut those times down significantly.
The graphics and settings are done particularly well; though some might complain that the PS3 or the Xbox 360 games all look better, I haven't really come across any that actually PLAY better or are more entertaining, but to each their own I suppose. Each location is distinct from the others and the soundtrack helps to build the overall feel of each world. The story is well paced, though not quite perfect as it does get a little lame or cheesy sometimes. This does not detract from the overall feel of the game however, most people will be too busy searching for suit upgrades, engaging in fast-paced combat and completing objectives by solving some rather creative puzzles to even notice that the story is predictable and a little dry at times. Overall, the whole package comes together to make a stunning game that's good for at least 20 hours of entertaining play-time the first time around.
I personally did not find a whole lot of replay value after I finished the game (whereas I'm still playing Resident Evil 4 even though I completed the game a few weeks before I started Metroid Prime 3), but the options to rerun the game on a higher difficulty and unlock bonus content (sadly, none in the form of extra game play or mini-games that I could find) will keep hardcore Metroid fans and gamers that insist on completing every facet of each game they own busy for quite a while.
My one and only minor grip is that I took the extra time and effort to obtain 100% completion so I could get the continued bonus endings (one for 75% and one for 100%) only to be rewarded with two snippets that were short and uninspiring. Of course, that's just my opinion, the actual ending that everyone gets regardless of completion percentage is well done and closes the game well. Overall, Metroid Prime 3 was a great game experience, easily one of the best I've had in the last 10 years,

This game is fantastic. Not only is creative and unique, but it is very challenging and really utilizes the Wii controls. The plants you visit are wonderful, the graphics are spectacular and the puzzles are very thoughtful. I thought I would be done with this game very quickly when I first read about it, but it has provided hours of entertainment and I am only 20% of the way through. One of the best features is that the game is not linear. You really have to understand the story and remember where you have been and what clues were given to make it through (don't worry, there are plenty of online walkthroughs if you get stuck).
One of the best games ever

In the 16 some odd years i have been playing video games, I have found few games truly enjoyable to the point where I can play them over and over. The Metroid Prime series are just a few of the games to make it to that elite category. Metroid Prime was probably the best game to hit the Nintendo Gamecube. Metroid Prime 2 continued in its predecessor's footsteps. Now we have Metroid Prime 3. After playing the game for 3 days around work schedules, and only getting to the 3rd area of the game, I can tell this will be another. The control scheme on the Wii is easy to get used to, and even makes sense, even for this being my first Wii game I've played. I absolutely loved the battle with Meta Ridley. I look forward to playing through this game further and kickin' Dark Samus' butt.

This is great game for the wii. The Graphics are excellent considering that the wii game console only cost 250 bucks! It takes a little gettting used to using the wii remote to shoot at targets, but once you get the hang of it it moved pretty fast. The only con that I would have about the game is the wii remote play. I would rather prefer a remote similiar to the xbox 360 so you hands don't get as tired. Would I recommend this to others? Yes! Enjoy...
