this is defintaly the best game ever made for any platform. dont belive any trash you may hear about this game its a work of art better than the gta seris. buy this or stop playing games for ever. seriously!

Mafia is one best PC-Games ever made. Why? Look:
1. Awesome graphics (needs a highly recommended computer)
2. Great music (remembers me on my favourite movie "Capones'Boys")
3. Thin, but great storyline
4. intensive fights
5. awesome atmosphere
6. very varied missions
7. Buy it!!!!!

I was unfortunate enough to buy Mafia for my PC...

Sadly, it is perhaps the worst budget game I have ever played and am uninstalling it.

Why I hate this glorified budget game:
* Excellent graphics do NOT make up for poor gameplay and retarded AI.

* Some might think driving a car around at 20 MPH is cool, but I've played GTA III and know what a driving game should feel like. Running into people should NOT be like running into a static object such as a garbage can.

* AI?!? AI? Try this for fun: shoot a guy in a car at an intersection. The ENTIRE FRICKEN game is bogged down with traffic now because of ONE guy!?! Try that in GTA III to see what AI should do. (Maybe drive AROUND the dead body instead of dropping the frame rate in the single digits?

* Attack someone in a car and they sit there. No emotion, no reaction.

* GeForce3 Ti and it runs ~ 20 FPS in medium detail?
Bottom line: I've seen better games at Wal-Mart's budget bin.

I bought this because of a review on GameSpot and canceled my subscription membership after thier bogus review.

Mafia, good title, poor execution. this is not GTA! too much time driving in this game..for what!! no reward for good driving. Don't run anyone over, or the police will arrest you. a cut-scene would have been better between missions than this idiotic driving. speaking of missions, no in game save, so you must keep trying a level over and over until you win. the worst mission is when you have to drive a sports car at a race. this is hopeless. don't look around for health, you won't find it in many missions. no bonus points with the mob, so don't waste your time roughing up the town folks. don't even bother stealing cars. nothing increases your wise guy status. I have played MANY games, this is the WORST. This is very frustrating. Your partner, Paulie does not take direction, so he is always running into trouble, getting killed and your mission is over..guess what..start from the beginning..ALSO all you cheaters out there..NO CHEATS in this game to get you past the tough spots, just lots on mindless repetition. SAVE YOUR MONEY and SKIP this GAME!!!

So you would like to experience being a gangster in the 1920's and 30's, look no further! Totally immersive, beautiful graphics, great story and hours and hours of fun. At this price, there is no excuse not to buy this game.

Sluggish and Awkward

This game is definitely one of the worst I've played. Mouse movement is really awkward. if your into games like Counter-Strike the aiming and shooting of weapons in this game will definitely frustrate you. It's hard to aim exactly because teh movement is sluggish. The radar on the screen when driving can use some improvement. A radar should have been used when just run on the street. It's difficult to tell which way or which door to run into. The radar with arrow points to a lot of dead ends if you are not sure where you are running. Doors you are supposed to enter should be more blatant.

GTA3 Take off?

Is this game a take off of Grand Theft Auto 3? It could be, but it still will be soooo much fun. It will satsify until GTA3 comes out for the Computer sometime in April. Cant wait til mafia comes out

I had this game over a year trying to get it to play on my pc.Tech Support was no help at all.Finally I found by lowering the resolution i got it to play.Dont know why because my resolution max is only 1050 x 768.Hope this will help others having problems.The game was not worth the effort.The game is 90% Driving puzzle and 10% action.Every mission requires you to drive long distances through crowded streets.No speeding and stopping at red lights.At the same time trying to find a route to take you to your destination.Example :You are told to go to a mechanic 2 islands over, only certain bridges will get you there.He tells you to steal a car another long drive through the maze.When you get there stealing the car is only getting out of your car and driving off in the one you are stealing.You are then told to drive the car back to where you started in the first place which is another long hall.(Exciting wasn't it).If you took out all the excess driving and the exceptionaly long cut sceans a person could finish this game in a couple of hours.

I agree with the other reviews that this game looks extremely good, fun to play exciting ect., but it was supposed to be released LAST YEAR! I've been waiting for this game to come out for almost a year now, and with the last push in the release date it seems i will be waiting a year. I'm not even sure that i want this game now. I'm not sure who dropped the ball on this one, if it was talonsoft, or god games, but in any case they need to get their act together and stop promising things they can't deliever.
