I gotta admit it, I'm a big fan of the Marvel arcade fighting games and the Capcom world. This is one you should get. It plays just like it does in the Arcade and hell, it'll save you some cash to have it at home.

Have Fun!

Finally!!! MvC2 has come back....

It is about time Capcom released this title for the PS2; I had originally bought the system for Final Fantasy X, as well as the possibility of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Why they made us wait so long I guess we'll never know.
With the introduction of the 3-character tag system, new moves and combos, and the extensive list of selectable characters (including Dr. Doom!), how can you go wrong? The 3D backgrounds also add new style to the game. My only complaint would be that the final boss is a tad easy (and not nearly as cool as Onslaught or Apocalypse); with most characters you can kill its final form with one team super as long as all 3 on your team are intact. The top characters in this version appear to be Cable, Magneto, and Iceman, while cheaper characters include Spiral, Omega Red and Blackheart. Although this game does require a degree of skill, particularly when performing air combos linked with hyper combos, button-mashers seem to fare pretty well, so one need not be an expert to thoroughly enjoy the game. A must-have for fighting-game lovers and those who have followed previous titles in the series...
....alright, so I just bought the game last night, and let's just say I got little sleep thereafter. You only start out with a fraction of the 56 characters, and must unlock the others by spending points earned by completing other modes of the game. The controls are a bit difficult to get used to at first (unless you have an arcade-style controller) but soon enough I was busting out Cable's infinite-Hyper combo like no tomorrow. Pick this one up, it was well worth the wait and a very faithful arcade-to-home system translation.

the best fast pace fighting ever made

it was one of the best arcade games. A lot of people bought the dreamcast only for that game and it's coming out for ps2 and it's going to be hit right away.

Great, but too late.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 was one of the best arcade games ever ranking right up there with Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Combat (O.k. so MK may not be considered that much of a classic by some, but when it came out the lines to play the game ran out of the arcade and into the parking lot.) This game was great on Dream Cast and will still be fun on PS2. And I will buy it the first day that it is available. So why only 3 stars you ask? Because it took so long to get here. I'm not satisfied with a port of a game that come out in 2000 (I think that's right) when it's nearly 2003. I want Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. But if you look back at how many versions of Street Fighter 2 Capcom released before finally learning to count to 3, that could take a while. Still this game is great fun and extremely addictive. It's also one of those games that's fun for novice's and skilled veterans alike. It's proof that 2-D games, when done right, can be just as good, if not better, than their 3-D counterparts. The graphics may fall short, but it's gameplay that truly matters in a fighter. If you are a Capcom or SNK fan, then I don't need to tell you to buy it. If you a fan of fighting games in general then I highly recomend buying it. For every one else, I suggest you rent it and then decide.

This game is awesome!

I love this game! I have it for dreamcast and will get it the first day it comes out on PS2. Even if you only play fighting games once in a while(like me)and enjoy them even the slightest bit when you do, you will love this game.

*WARNING*
If you dont have an arcade stick for your PS2, I suggest you purchase one along with this game because it is much less fun and even a bit harder to play without one.

Forget Tekken, forget Smash Brothers, and forget Mortal Kombat. The vs. series is better than any other fighting game on any platform. I'm glad it's coming to PS2

Well there is very little to say about this game but thank you for blessing the PS2 with the best 2d fighting game ever made and if your reading this this than this game as 56 playable charcters which can be customized to fit your 3 vs 3 fighting needs so if your looking for a good game try this masterpiece of a game (so I lied about being able to say so little about it).

Great game!

I have played this game on the arcade before, and its mind-blowing how fun it is. All the characters from X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Superheroes, Marvel VS. Capcom, and others are in this game! And those who were disappointed that Morrigan was the only DS character in the original game will be happy to know that Felicia, B.B. Hood, and Anakaris have come into the game as well! Not to mention Thanos and Dr.Doom that you could only fight against in Marvel Superheroes. A must-have game!
