Good All Around Game

I bought this game a week ago today, and I started playing it the day I bought it. Three days ago I got to 67% and I have been stuck. This game is a good example of a platformer and I think it could be called an action game an adventure game possibly a shooter and a racer. The graphics are superb and the background detail is astounding. When you go up to the palace the first time, there is actually an amazing view and you can see all the landmarks in and around the city. Some missions are extremely hard (E.G. the tank mission) but after you are done with them you have a great feeling of accomplishment. I just beat the tests of manhood, and... well lets just say my T.V. barely survived. Some people are saying that the city is not worth exploring and that it's just a way to have a ten minute commute to a mission which is generall platformer level, but the city is amazing, you can do a lot of things, like get the police chasing you and gun down fifty men, or jack a nice car and knock smaller ones out of the air. This game provides a good amount of adventure with action, but I have found there are two major problems. One is the timings for racing-like mission, I'm just glad that guy is not my teacher. Second is the ranging level dificulty, like the tank level which is a couple missions into the game, I can say that it's harder than beating the Baron the first (on the palace rooftop) and second (in Mar's temple). That is saying a lot. This game though annoying at times is a great game and deserves five stars

(...) the gameplay is a blast the graphics are breathtaking. and the storyline is an acheivement for the stale platform genre. story picks up after the grand ending of jak and daxter. jak is hit over the head with a gun sent to a prizon and is brutally tortured for the next two years until daxter finally gets to jaks aid. the worlds are layed out on huge sprawling areas. gigantic beautifal citys just bloom with life. the controls and moves are subpar to the original game. yet jak 2 refuses to be a typical collection fest unlike many platformers. you will get to ssteal veichles anytime you want. jak gets a gun with tons of upgrades you can get a jetboard too. another addition are the new mechlevels. while those things are enormus and hard to control they offer some great fun. jak can also turn into dark jak so collect lots of purple drops theyll boost your ability to get dark jak which is awesome. the cutscenes are awesome. the graphics are just ridicolusly good. at first it dosent look that good but later it looks magnificent. one such area the palace is simply breathtaking. when i got into that place i was shocked how good it looked. but words cant describe ho beautifal it was and you could see the city down below and everythu=ing. its just one of those things you have to see and expereince yourself to beleive it. that place was about 28 perecent into the game keep an open eye for it. the cutscenes with jak were awesome. jak has goot be the coolest characther ever in a video game. he suprizes me everytime with how good he uses words and everything. the voice actors did a great job. the storyline has tons of nice touches that keep it compelling. ive never enjoyed a platformer storyline before but jak 2 did the trick. there always consistent with adding lots of drama and suprizes to ecelerate the emotion from the player. this game was a complete suprize. a 25 hour thrill ride filled with twists and turns. this game simply blows rachet and clank going commando out of the water. bottom line is this game definitely deserves to be in your collection. NO i changed my mind it HAS to be in your collection. this game is so awesome. i wish i could give it 6 stars.

jak ii is one of the most unique expereinces this year. it combines so many gameplay elements. such as hunting shooting driving platforming. after you break out of jail jak and daxter come across a huge metropolis. packed with veichles to steal sort of like gta. pedestrians to assault and with lots of crimson gaurds patroling. its a blast to beat up peopler and gaurds but be careful. assaulting a civilian or gaurd will set of an alarm and bunch more gaurds will come in to kill you. jak also gets 4 new guns in this game. the scatter gun-powerful hand gun. the blaster- excellent long range machine gun. the vulcan fury- only has as much range as the scatter gun but signifigantly stronger than the blaster weapon. peacemaker- a giant machine gun that sends an unbelivable force of highpowered static eletricity. jak also gets a hoverboard a mech suit and he finally talks. the game is a bit harder than it has to be. so if you got lots of time to play then you can beat some of the missions. but dont plan on beating a hard mission in a small amount of time. i really liked the first jak and daxter but this one is better. you should get this game but prepared for some tough missions.

98% done and the ending is a joke!

Why is it a joke? Cuz it did an auto save in the room with the final boss battle and left me without the ability to stock up ammo for all of my great weapons. Being handicapped this way makes the game artificially harder, not better. Why should I not be able to use 3 of my 4 weapons after I sent 25 hours of game play building my weapons up in preperation for the toughest boss battle yet? Every other level let me stock up on ammo, why should this be different? This is a cruel joke and the game designers should be embarassed to have this flaw in their game. Other than the ending, the graphics, story, characters and vehicles are all great to excellent. This game was an absolute blast for 98% of the way thru, so consider yourself warned!

a hoverboard guns veichles at your disposal a titan mech suit.awesome characthers and beautifal graphics. even controls are much better than before. this game gives you acess to 4 guns. the scatter gun the blaster the vulcan fury and the peacemaker. jak controls better has guns and can talk what more do you want.

jak 2 is a great game like grand theft auto but not as gory and nasty as grand theft auto in jak 2 you go to people and they give you missons to do do for them to get further in the game well here;s what i think about jak 2 graphics 9/10 great graphics wonderful graphics music 10/10 i love the music when your in the city story 10/10 super awesome story diffculty 10/10 this game can make someone so ticked off they could throw their controller and break it sometimes well that's what i think of jak2

this game is pure briliance. while some may argue that jak ii borrowing elements from other titles makes it stale. that really is the most wonderful idea anyone could come up with. its got a mixture of so many classics. grend theft auto vc rachet and clank super mario sunshine final fantasy and maybe even halo. all of them combined offer so many great elements in gameplay it will astound and shock you. diaulouge seqeunces are breathtaking. the characther diaulouge is truly exceptional. unlike rachet and clank going commando which had cheesy kiddy diaulouge. jak has to be the coolest personality ever in a video game. the 4 guns you can obtain in jak 2 are better than all 20 or so in going commando. they look and sound like real guns not toys like in going commando. the fact that you can steal a veichle was also really cool. thats were it plays grend theft auto style. jak 2 allows players to steal a sweet ride at will. its simple dont like being on the ground press the triangle button and youll be crosing around the city. theres tons of veichles flying overhead that you steal from people. but dont worry mothers the theft part really does not look all that bad its more simple than you think. you have the choice to ride the veichles ram them into crimson gaurds or even destroy them its all up to you. unlike gta the graphics in jak 2 are unreal. theyre beautifal the sise of the city blooming with things and people crossing by. beautifal colors life like envirorements and just unreal sise to roam around. at first i thought it would be impossible for them to do it without any graphical pop ups or mistakes. in fact i was right it does often crash and stutter in the graphics. but its easy to forgive when youre playing perhaps ps2s best looking platformer. later in the game jak is equipped with a hoverboard and can do insane tricks where ever the hell he wants. you can also get a mech suit which will proctect jak from the many crimson gaurd assaults. the game has so much things to stare at so much combot action platforming and great cut scenes. even the controls are niched up and are extremely responsive. if you have read so far and decided to not buy jak 2. you are either just not a true gamer or someone who easily gets offended. if you are a true gamer you must buy this game it is off the charts and unreal. if you ask me it is better than the original by 100 times. it is better than all the games it mimics and has more action that rachet and clank going commando. what are you waiting for go out and buy the best platform game and one of the best combat games this year. it has so much action platforming elements and such cool weapons characthers everything. ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW WOW WOW.

If you like Jak II style of game (open environment) then you should definitely check out Beyond Good and Evil by UBI Soft from the creator of Rayman. Both are very original and rare gems in the game industry!!!

Its awsome. You have guns and can steal cars,+ u have a hoverboard. Its like gta. Its better the ratch & Clank 2. Way better than the 1 one. First one sucked!

Jak 2 is definitely one of the best games of the year, and the second best platform game of the year (next to Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando). The game is much better than Jak and Daxter so if you liked Jak and Daxter (as I did), then you'll absolutely love playing this game. Jak 2 intertwines many different gaming elements, such as driving, shooting, and of course platforming. Jak 2 delivers hours of fun and it is rather lengthy (a good thing). There is one minor flaw about Jak 2, and that is that it gets difficult very quickly. However, that minor flaw does not downgrade its rating at all. Any platform fan and Jak and Daxter fan should have NO hesitation picking this game up. As a matter of fact, any gamer fan should pick this up. If Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando didn't exist, this would be my favorite platform game of the year.
