Good lord soem of you guys are uneducated...first of all, The guy is black...whatever, it's like "Been there, Heard that, now that the Hell up about it". Seriously, I mean i honestly think this will be an awesome game, No matter what.

I mean why is everyone taking it so hard that he's African American, You didn't see anyone walking around saying "I don't like GTA3 because it has a greasy Italian (No offense to Italians, just making a comparison) as the main character," And of all the games this one has the BEST storyline and premise behind it, hands down.

I mean, you're a guy who has to leave town because you dont like the direction his hometown is going in. So 20 years later he comes back to steer his Childhood Buddies in the right direction, and BOOM! these crooked cops slap a homicide charge on him and he's a wanted man. i mean honestly, Who wouldn't want to play this game with this insane Storyline.

And here's a little bit for a Reviewer named Newfound32, First of all, the '70s was a bad ime, because of all the Drugs and that is when gangs really began. And secondly, Have you utterly lost your mind, the 70s were about Lynyrd Skynyrd and Styx...not the f-ing Sex Pistols punk was in the 80s...how dumb are you? P.S if you haven't noticed, this game takes place in the 90s.

Really this game does look AWESOME, I mean it has it all, a great storyline, amusing gameplay and it jus thas that rockstar GTA flare. It's a definate By for anyone...unless your a Racist "70s punk Rocker"...Man are you guys uneducated.

P.S I find it funny how all of the Racist Remarks are coming from places like Detroit and Milwakee...not the South, so why say anything like, "Let's call it Grand Theft Arkansas" you should be saying "Shut the F*** up you Racist Nazi Bast*rds",(But i understand what you're getting at)you bunch of racist pricks, Whenever you think of something stupid (not to mention racist) thing to say just give me a call and tell me your adress and I can come over and beat you like a Rug. Bast*rds.

...I've been waiting for a follow up to Vice City ever since I finished it 100%. It's about freakin' time! Although I haven't played this yet, I'm sure it deserves my 5 star rating as Vice City is arguably the greatest game to date.
Regarding some people's contempt for this upcoming title because of its ethnically challenged star... "I have one thing to say to you: You are about to be extinct!" I saw the screenshots for GTA:SA before I read your racist reviews and I figured I'd have to play as a black guy which never bothered me. I'm sure other europeans share the same view as I do, and I would have given americans more credit than this but it seems that some of you still remain in pre-Rosa Parks america. You don't seem to have a problem playing as Italian-American Tommy Vercetti. Maybe it's because the Mafia have been glamorised in films like Goodfellas and The Godfather. Maybe you watch too much reality TV such as Cops which Michael Moore said "demonised the African-American community" and you're too stupid to have any opinion of your own.

I cant believe they took this game away from the shelves and I was lucky to get it because I got good grades in school (Because I can have these kind of games if I do well in school and dont murder people)and I got it the day before they changed the rating to AO (Adults Only) and it is superb and why did somewhere as cool as Amazon take it from their shelves as well?I say if you can get it anywhere like the people selling it on Amazon and u dont have it,take your chance and get it but if its for your child,if they're like me (Sensible) they can have it but if they're bad,say no!But Hilary Clinton is a (...)for taking it off the shelves and I dont take drugs or shoot the police,I just do my thing,do well in school and get these kind of stuff because I'm one of the sensible kids who has it.Anyway its a superb game,it has tons of freedom and u dont have to use the prostitutes and if u see 1,avoid them and as for the "Coffee" mini game,if u dont use the cheats,they dont come on its as simple as that!Buy it wherever u can if u can and if u like 2Pac and NWA (Like me) you'll love this!!!!!!!!!

Some people *cough* seem to not have any of their facts straight about the game. First of all, the characters in GTA3 and VC were different characters. In GTA3, the main character remains unnamed, and in VC the main character is Tommy Vercetti. The characters don't even look alike. Secondly, the game is set in the early 90s, not the 70s. Third of all, the location of the game (which is supposed to be fictional) is supposed to be similar to Los Angeles, not some small Californian hick town. I can't just sit around at let people be mislead by somebody *cough* that has no knowledge of the game. From the facts I've learned so far, GTA: San Andreas will be an incredible game, and every bit as popular as GTA3 and GTA VC.

This game is probably the best Grand Theft Auto game! I can't wait until it comes out in October because I know it's going to be a big hit. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: III were awesome games and they got better each time another one came out. So this one must be the best one yet.

What a waste of money! Don't buy this awful game, all you can do is run around and smash inoccent bystanders to bits. The story is lame and the gameplay is the same as always. Rockstar should be ashamed.

Wallowing in a Moral Sewer

This game is a device for debasing people. First it removes their pride. Here's how: You take vicarious pleasure in doing the things ghettoized minorities do, but which you would never have the courage (or desperation) to do. This means that these ghettoized minorities, who are at the bottom of society because of the moral sewer in which they live, are raised above you as role models. However, your cosy arm-chair computer vice means that you can never emulate your 'heroes' and must remain infinitely lower than them.

Secondly, you accept the 'cultural' values of a world based on crime movies. Everyone is corrupt, addicted, etc., and women are attracted by power, money, and cruelty. This just makes you a hollowed out impotent little cynic.

Thirdly, this game takes up a vast portion of time which could be speant actually living a life.

Ok first of all this race issue is getting to me. I am black and I live in south Los Angeles. In GTA 3 it was a new york style place. It dosent really matter what race u would be new york offers anything. VICE City had to do more with the italian mafia so of course you would be and Italian American(obviously if u were black or hispanic or english, it wouldnt flow or make sense.That has to do with this game. This game takes on the vibe of the gang-south cental la,compton,inglewood gangs such as crips or bloods. And takes place from movies like menice 2 society and boyz in the hood. Obviously if you are a gang banger in south central LA ur gonna be black, not some white guy, thats just the way it is. Just as a black guy would have no place in an Italian mafia. Now look, if it bothers u that much just don t play the game, I had no problem with playing as a white person in the past few gta games, all i could think about was how fun they were. If the main charictor was white in this game it would be ridiculous and not make sense just as it would be ridiculous and not make sense if the vice city main charictor was black.For those of u who play games where for the graphics, fun and excitement go and buy this game, if u only care about a game for the main charictors race just dont play this game...it's as simple as that.

There is no game that really comes close to this one. I don't see how anyone could ever get bored playing it. First off, let me say that the whole violence sterotype is just stupid. Movies, music, and video games don't create psychos, they just make psychos more creative. Besides, the government tries to stop violent games like this, but they don't want to stop the real violence going on all over America. They need to stop blaming and start thinking of other solutions if they really care about stopping the violence(which they don't).Anyways, if you want to, you can drive around the city, the desert, the mountains, whatever. Or you could play the missions and get captivated in the surprisingly great story of the game. You can do hundreds of extra missions for money or just to do them. You can piss off the cops, and try to run from them. You can go on a rampage and shoot up your gang rivals' neighborhood. You can go around and take pictures of all of the great landscapes in this game. You can go to Driving School, Boating School, Biking School, Flying School. You can take your girlfriend out on a date. You can go out to eat, work out, buy new clothes, buy houses. You can even drive out to the mountains and take a vacation at your house. You can check out Area 51, you can go play Black Jack at the casinos in Las Venturas, or bet on horse racing in Los Santos. You can fly airplanes or jets and land them wherever you want to. I didn't even name a fourth of the things you can do. Playing this game is like playing a second life. You've got unlimited possibilities on what you want to do with you're character. The other thing is the cities in this game are basically street for street replicas of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. Los Santos is like Los Angeles, half city life and half gang filled poverty. San Fierro is like San Francisco, very artsy and hilly. Las Venturas is like Las Vegas. That one you can easily tell as soon as you drive up there. The strip area where the casinos are is beauitiful. It's a very fun city. All other games take 20-40 hours or whatever to beat. This game takes much longer than that. But they're really is no beating this game. Don't think that if you don't fit the gangster lifestyle that this game portrays, then you won't like it, because you will. I know numerous amounts of people who live in two story suburbian houses and think that this is the best game ever. The story in this game is like a movie. It is very intelligent and very detailed. The missions are so much better than the other GTA games' missions. You do much more than just shoot people. I'm not saying that the other 2 games just had shoot em up missions, but they don't quite have the variety that this game has. So if your'e a fan of the other GTA games, you can't really call yourself a fan if you don't have this game. Don't get me wrong, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City are probably the 2nd, 3rd best games of all time. This game is twice as good if you listen to any form of rap music while you're playing it. Some recommended albums are Dr. Dre's "The Chronic", Snoop Dogg's "Doggystyle", 2pac's "All Eyez On Me", The Game's "The Documentary", and The Notorious BIG's "Ready To Die" and "Life After Death". But most of all NWA's Straight Outta Compton. But it's not required to have a blast playing this game. So, like I said, this game is on it's own level. There isn't one game that compares to it. I sort of feel like this review is too short, because there is so much to talk about. Trust me, if you buy this game you will see what I mean.

I think of myself as a hardcore gamer, so I think I would know if this game was fun. From the many accesories you use to make your character unique, to the casinos and horse races, to the wide accesible area that always leaves you wondering what else is out there, this game is great. The missions range from easy to downright insane. Plus, all the new cars and weaponry this is the best Grand Theft Auto to date. But, the rating of this game is there for a reason. I do not suggest you get this for your nephew or niece. But, I say someone about 15 could handle it.
Just think of all the areas you can access and the new things you can install on your ride. Personally, I fancy the GoKart and the racing bike. You may favor the land and water vehicle. Whatever ride you are into it's in this game.
