The idea is cool. The game is well thought-out. I stopped playing because I was doing the same thing over and over again...just got boring.
The game is addictive...but just wasn't for me.
Fantastic!

We very much wanted to try to play this game. And month ago we finally bought it for 19.99 euro's. Game is in 5 disks. It took ages to install it (and also a lot of space on hdd)
After long installing it runs without a problems. Really nice graphics. But think people who played ever KnightOnline game - they already not very impressed with WoW. Even website of KO looks much better.
WoW was released at november 2004, when (as i remmeber) KO already existed. And in WoW is a lot of things from KO. The difference is that KO you can play free of for 8.95$ a month to get anytime access to game. Think KO have more friendly interface and it's more understandable.
In WoW we played for 4-5 days (that was for free with game) and even then it was very boring. Then we just putted it aside and it lays between other useless things.
Great fun for the whole family.

I picked up WoW on the suggestion of a friend. To be honest, this is only my second MMORPG, so I cannot compare it to much, but what I can say is that I am still playing 6 months later.
Also, and to me this is the biggest praise I can give; my wife began playing after watching me for a few hours, and my father has just begun this past week!
WoW sports an easy interface, thousands of quests, many "instanced" dungeons, and a large selection of race/class combinations.
To date I have played Alliance characters to the "endgame" content, and just recently, my guild has switched over to the Horde. Its wonderful to find original missions on both sides of the war!
While this may not be the game that holds your interest for the next few years, I guarantee it will keep you busy for months to come.
What a MMORPG *should* be

Blizzard clearly did their homework: this games succeeds where all other MMORPGs fail (and believe me, I've tried them; I still have Star Wars: Galaxies nightmares).
This is my entertainment!

I play this game almost nightly, I solo every character. It is not like those other MMORPG games that you have to group all the time to level. There is lots of quests to help you level, I used to play EQ but where was the quests??? This game beats it hands down. The graffics is fantastic! Any time I have had a problem (2 times in a year and a half) a game master has helped me to my satifaction. WOW all the way!
THE BEST GAME EVER....

It's real simple. For fun factor, WoW can't be beat. WoW is the KING of the online gaming world for a reason, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Buy this game and the expansion. Just remember to balance your life with gaming because this game is highly addictive. Good travels to you in Azeroth!
Confused.

To the poster that said they have over 100 people on ignore per day. You're just extremely uptight and must be doing something to piss off people in the game. Been playing this game since Beta Day 4 and I think the entire time I've been playing the only people on ignore have been friends and gold farmers.
Don't be misinformed by people claiming that everyone in game is out to get you. In fact, in most cases it's the exact opposite. Sure there's going to be the jerks out there but you'll also come to find some really nice players.
Also, to the person that said they never see anyone except in the big cities, go reroll on a higher population server. How do you expect Blizzard to keep 10 million people all on the same server? It's impossible there is no computer in the world that could handle even 1% of all that would be going on on that server.
It's a great game. People become addicted very easily. Don't fall into the trap, still keep time for real life if you plan on playing.
