yeah ok so it's kinda childish and it does get old after a couple of hundred races but the first few hundred are priceless. the music is really annoying and i want to stab the commentator but i'm just having so much fun playing it i can't help but give it 5 stars..

Realistic crash racing

The object of this game isn't hard to describe. You zip down streets in 160mph and you can take down your opponents by hitting their cars. Win races and you unlock more races and events.

Crashing the other players can be done various ways: slamming, shunting, boosting etc. This is the fun part of the game. When you race against someone, you can use some under the belt tactics and get more points.
However, if you slam into roadside objects or regular cars, you crash.
The car maneuverability is close to GT3, but naturally, it's meant to be non-realistic.

Pros in Burnout3:
# The variations
1. pure road races: you and 5 other racers
2. face offs: meet one opponent
3. crash courses: the objective is to crash into as many vehicles as possible
4. elimination: last one each lap is eliminated
5. road rage: slam into your opponents as many times as possible
# yes, it's addictive
# Burnout3 doesn't have the car modification overkill like GT3, but the racing aspect is still very good. You get new cars as you progress, but you can't modify them at all. You can slide through corners and catch air, just like GT3.
# crash realism. When you take out a car, it spins and crashes pretty realistically.

Cons
# Load time. A lot of the harder levels need a lot of retries. The load scenes are just too slow. Maybe it's showing the age of the PS2 console, but games like Jak& Daxter have found ways around this.
# The UI/navigation is generally annoying. For example auto-save, each time the the game saves your progress, it needs to load a section where the saving takes place. When it's done it says "auto save done, press X to continue". Not very auto then, is it?
There are a lot of "press X to continue". That might work in a PC game, but console games need a better/faster flow.
# Before each race, a famous radio DJ announces something. The amount of announcments get repetitive after a while.

I played this game on and off for a week, and mastered 70% of the game. I think I'm satisfied, time to return it to my extended library (BlockBusters).

This game is the best racing game i have ever played...because it's not all racing! You would not imagine how fun it is to ram cars over the siderail at 250 miles per hour while slightly dodgin an oncoming car going straight at you at just the last second! Awesome! Bought it without hesitation.

OOOHHHHHHH GRAANNNNNN JUEGO, al principio tal vez un poco confuso, pero una vez viendo de que se trata todo se convierte en pura diversion. el único pero que podria tener este juego son las gráficas, pues comparandolas con gotham racing no son tan impresionantes, pero fuera de eso este juego es la neta. La música aunque algo intensa es bastante agradable, y los diferentes modos de juego son realmente divertidos. A mi me gustan mucho los juegos de carreras y este en realidad me a cautivado, pues sin dejar de ser un juego de coches ofrece tantas novedades que al estar jugando tienes el interes de ir descubriendo nuevos coches y nuevas modalidades de juego. Yo nunca jugue los titulos anteriores de burn out, lo que si es que este juego podria considerarse como una mezcla de mario kart, rumble racing, project gotham y project gotham en live.
En breve, este es ese tipo de juegos del que nunca me perderia.

I played a DEMO for this game and it is WICKED AWESOME!!! make your explode and KABAM!!! you're on fire if ya MAKE IT EXPLODE!!!!!!!!! AWESOMENESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! The A.I in this game really stinks i mean if they wreak and they are 20 seconds behind you then 2 seconds later they are right on your but that means they must be double your speed.Great game though i gave it 1 1/2 thumbs up

This is without a doubt one of the best video games that I have ever played, on any platform, ever. I usually don't play racing games, but this is so much more. I was hooked on this game with the xBox version, but the PS2 edition is just as good. I have been telling everyone that I know that has either a PS2 or xBox that this is a must have. The challenge is getting gold medals in each event so that you can unlock special awards, events, and cars. Unlocking fire trucks and city busses makes going back to old crash events even more fun. I would give this game my highest recommendation.

whoever wrote the poopsmith is back in town is wierd. there is no nudity what so ever. the crashes are insane and not like little kids gettin boo boos. enough with that i'm goin crazy because i read that review. the story mode is a crash tour. you go around 3 continents and crash every where including races. when you crash they have somthing called impact time where you can preform aftertouch takedowns aka crashed crashes. you crash around the world and get trophies which lead to fast crashing cars. like in ssx 3 there is a radio man. in stead of radio big it's crash fm. 2 player mode is cool because it could be a duel with your friend or a race with coms. did i leave a review on this game beacuase i'm not sure? back to poopsmith review, do you go on homestarrunner.com because there's a poop smith on that website.

This game is amazing. Just plug in two controllers and go away in any mode of playing. This game has fantastic crashes, and effects. Just buy it. I'm sure after looking at these other reviews, you will LOVE it if you enjoy smashing cars ( fake ones or real ;) ) and/or racing games. I am a hardcore gamer, and this is in my top 5 for all time favorite racing games. ( Probably number 2. ) There is only one flaw though.. I don't know why this is, but on two player, there are very few levels.. and when you hit random, you WILL get the same track every time.

The graphics on this game are really quite nice. When you're going fast, you feel like you're going fast. And the crash game is addicting. Watching the slow motion explosions is a highlight. I only wish it didn't take so long to load up between tries. Another complaints are that there aren't enough courses. And the computer cars are always right behind you. If I'm racing perfectly, then screw up at the last turn, I should be way ahead. The computer cars cheat too much here. And I keep getting all these new cars for winning races, but I CAN'T USE THEM! That's a real weak situation.
