The Burnout games keep getting better, and this improves on everything in the previous games. Yes, the DJ is annoying, but you can turn him off. The graphics are excellent, and the sense of speed is incredible. "Crash" mode is pure entertainment -- and totally addictive. It'd be nice if the load times were quicker, but that's the only negative thing I can say. If you like Arcade style racers, you will not be disappointed.

W.O.W.!

Oh crap this burnout 3 is way better than burnout 2! I own burnout 2 but I just finished renting burnout 3. It's a must own and keeper. Also the reason I put 4stars on education was because I know alot of people who were about to get into an accident but got out becuse they knew how to manuvere around and dodge the enemy. You can learn alot from this game and its a crap load of FUN.

Remember how it feels after riding on a roller coaster? The smile that doesn't go away, the exhilaration, and the feeling of having your stomach turned upside down? That's what this game does to you. Burnout 3: Takedown can be summed up in 3 simple words: Buy this game!

I'm not a huge fan of driving/racing simulators, where the goal is to cross the finish line in first place, and that's it. Call me morbid, but I love nitrous, broken windshields, exploding gas tanks, and parts flying. Put Gran Turismo, Twisted Metal and F-Zero in a blender, and you get Burnout 3: Takedown. Yes, it is a racing game, however, the goal isn't to just come in first place. Performing "takedowns" of other vehicles is a key ingredient. Bumping and crashing your opponents into walls and guard rails (among other things) and causing their utter destruction not only propels you past them in rank, but earns you boost (nitro) power which is a necessity. In addition, the more opposing cars you takedown, the more points and takedowns you earn to unlock new cars and new tracks. You also earn boost power by driving into oncoming traffic and near misses with non-racing vehicles. The goal is to try and get gold medals in each course or mission. That being said, the other cars can take you down as well, and cause you to lose the race if you fall too far behind.

It doesn't stop there. There are more than just races. There is Crash mode, which in a way, is a puzzle of sorts. You get a designated vehicle, and the goal is to create as much chaos and destruction as you possible can. Meet the dollar amount in damage designated to get a gold medal, and again, the more cars and tracks you unlock.

Another cool feature in this game is called "aftertouch". If you do crash, hold down the aftertouch button, and everything goes slow-mo. Now you can actually steer your vehicle in mid-air and crash into opposing racers, and get 'aftertouch' crashes. This way, you lose none of your boost power, and causes damage to opposing racers.

You race in 3 different countries: The USA, Europe, and Far East. Each country has picturesque scenery and the graphics of not just the cars, but the tracks and backdrops themselves are nothing short of incredible. EA Games really outdid themselves here. The sense of speed has never been duplicated in any other video game. There are so many different vehicles to choose from and unlock, as well as missions I don't have time to mention. This is the funnest and most addicting racing game I've EVER played.

This is the KILLER car racing game that you should play.

EA brings out NFSU2 at the same time as Burnout 3 which is like releasing CounterStrike1.2 and CounterStrike Source at the same time. NFSU2 players will find themselves in that whole ¨but NFSU2 has real cars, real physics, real world detail, and don't crash perfectly because the real car manufacturers don't want to show us that¨ while fans of Burnout 3 will say, okay if that it what you want but I prefer MORE SPEED and the crash control physics where you can spin your car in slow motion, win more points via damages and then burn off at speeds of over 250mph.

Burnout 3 really does it in aces. The start screen says here is car, learn the rules about scoring boost points by dodging traffic, earn extra cars by causing more damage, use slow motion to crash control your car while in the lead to inflict mass damage on the five opponents trailing behind. Then when you win just keep pressing X, see the menu screen, new country open, new race, new car, X again, Vroooooooooom... SMASH... do it all over again till the cows come home.

Nothing more to say than outside of Driver 3 or GTA San Andreas, this is best car smash simulator that has the speed over all the others. God it is fun.

Pros
. Simply smashing.
. Faster than NFSU2.
. Slow motion crash control physics.
. Great tracks and realistic traffic.
. New gameplay and scoring.
. Not in the least bit like Burnout 1 or 2.
. Tons of multiplayer and single player variations.

Cons
. Burnout 1 and 2 may turn people off this one. It should not though.
. No free riding.
. Realism pretty much goes out the window with this concept.

The best part is when the cars blow up....

The premise is so simple, it's shocking how wonderfully fun this game is. You drive a car, and you crash it into other cars. Wonderful.

While it sounds simple, the good folks at Criterion Games have done a fantastic job of squeezing a lot out of it with a solid number of different crash-based events for the player to participate in. Game modes vary from straight-up racing to straight-up crashing and everything in between, so tons of fun no matter what mood you're in.

The most attractive feature of the game is how it bends the rules of physics to maximize the fun factor of the game. Racing purists may scoff, but it offers a quaint simplistic getaway from the sometimes exhausting realism of games like Gran Turismo. No need to tweak the car or memorize racing lines, all you need to know is which button is the accelerator and which button is for the turbo boost. The brake button is for "advanced" players.

Pound the accelerator, and smash your competition into the walls. As simple as you think, but more fun than you can possibly imagine.

Burnsssss the competion

I was surprised to hear burnout 3 sold more copies than gran turismo 4 overall. I mean burnout 3 is alot more fun, but gran turismo is better overall but who gives a crap. Burnout 3 is a offroad fury of fun. The Burnout World tour features up to 40 Race tracks and 67 unlockable Vehicles and a crapload of gamemodes. With online play, no wonder it killed in the rankings. There new mode is called takedown. You try to takedown your oppenent racer by hitting him/her off a road and making him crash. The cars are carfully designed and each one can be used to help you in your inmassed world tour. And intentionally crashing into people never gets old. Its not far from perfect, but it is still a great game. I give it a solid 4 stars.

Positive side
+ large varity
+ Great graphics
+ online play
+ running into people never gets old

Negitive Side
- Clumsy driving Controls
- Long loads

THIS GAME IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even own this game but I used to play it over my cousin's house but not a lot and I don't know why.Let me tell you the pros and cons about this game.

*It has awesome slowmotion and graphics
*There is 67 cars to unlock,40 racetracks,And 17 countries or locations(I think)
*You can do single events including roadrage, takeout mode, and plain old racing

Cons;

* You can't do traffic attack in this game like you could do in BR

Despite my 1 complaint Burnout 3 rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A definate 5 star game.

Burnout Takedown is the best burnout game out there. You have to watch yourself sometimes when your racing, especially when your using BOOST! If you are using your BOOST the higher the chances are you will hit another car or a wall. The best part is the takedowns. You can take out your rivals by hitting them very hard you can also use walls or other vehicles to takedown your rivals. The crash events are very cool too. You can hit ramps or just ram right into the traffic and it will always cause maximum destruction.

Best arcade racing game ever made.....

Forget about Mario Kart.
Forget about Gran Turismo.
Forget about Forza motorsport or GT Rally.
Burnout 3 is the only racing game worth your time.

Burnout 3 is simply the greatest racing game ever. With its addictive gameplay, large selection of cars, and incredible sense of speed, it simply leaves the competition in the dust. I'd say get it for sure, although it's kind of expensive right now. Maybe wait for it to come out as a greatest hits or rent it a couple of times. I'd recommend just buying it, because it's worth it, and you can always sell it online or trade it in at a game store. Simply amazing.
