Halo Average Game at best

I just completed the game. I have a 1300mzh Athlon with 384mb ram and ati 9000 pro video. All drivers are updated and the game ran a little choppy. I finally just gave in and accepted it. Driving the vehicles is fun, the guns are cool, but you're only allowed to have 2 guns at a time, which is a bummer compared to most games. The real pain is not being allowed to save in a certain section so if you die, you go all the way back to where the last checkpoint was.

I don't understand why some people just rave about this game. It was fun, but not enough to rave about. I paid $40 for the game, it's only really worth about $20.

I just had too many crashes and issues in the beginning. This was the worst game I've ever played that had so many issues. It's worse when you consider it's a "Microsoft" game. Don't buy until it's cheap...

this is a great game but it gets old pretty fast. However, if you download Halo CE after buying this game, there are over 1,000,000 maps at halomaps.org. The download and all the maps are free!

A must for your next LAN party

If you are looking for a computer game that is at the bleeding-edge of video game software technology -- this is probably not the game for you.

On the other hand, if you are looking for a fun multiplayer-centric game with tons of cool weapons and vehicles, but do not have a computer that requires customized super-cooling aparatus in order to prevent it from bursting into flames -- then give Halo: Combat Evolved a serious look.

For a game with modest system-requirements, as it has, its graphics are quite nice and it is an absolute blast when played over a LAN in a multi-player situation. Unfortunately, the game is set up so that you will need a seperate copy for each PC in the network, but at $20 a pop, such is not likely to break the bank.

The game offers a lot of multi-player configuration capabilities - although it will take some time to get adjusted to the menu system and how it all works.

This game is really good! I have a real up-to-date computer so everything runs fast and smooth. The multiplayer is great! You can play 1,000's of people in a huge number of maps and game styles. You can even type a message to your team or for everyone to hear! One of the down points is that in multilayer, someone may have modded a map to mess up the game or give them unlimited ammo and you get nothing. Another thing would be the lag. This is where the game moves real "choppy" or you lose the network connection. Still, its a really fun game!

Ever wondered if the rumors are true: Halo is the best game ever? It is! Well, maybe not the best game, but still in the top 10! Why does it appeal to people more than the last SciFi Shooter? We may never know, but extraordinary A.I. (In how many games do your allies retaliate when you attack them?), crisp graphics, original story (Sort of), and everything else you could want! The only flaw: The lagtime. When playing an online game with even 4 or 5 people, the game laggs a little. After 10 people join the game, it's hell. The game will freeze, then you'll just be dead, then ressurected, then frozen, then dead. Solution: Limit your multiplayer games to 5 people. It's that easy. Otherwise, BUY THIS GAME.

Just about anywhere you go people know and love Halo. Aside from what all the other reviews say about it being the best shooter ever (It is you know:) the interface is really very quick to learn. I am not usualy good at first person shooters but after a few minuits I had little trouble duking it out with the enemy... on easy. Ledgendary, the most dificult level, is near impossible still, but in various forums I hear it is very possible. All in all a very good buy.

Get the Demo off of FilePlanet first to see if it runs on your comp. i am running it great on a:
1.7celeron
gforce4 mx440 (64mb)
384mb RAM

it ran choppy at first but if you go into the graphics settings in the game and set it to (novsync) it will run awsome!!! this game is well worth the money and i would give it 10 stars if i could, dont be fooled by bad reviews...this game rocks...if you dont believe me get the demo first and see for yourself!!!

BETTER ON THE XBOX

This game was better on the xbox.I was hoping with the keyboard and mouse I would gain and edge vs the controller. It was harder. I hope that the controls on the keyboard and mouse are better on the PC with halo 2.

A lot of fun. A bit redundant though through the middle, even a little tiring with the repeating scenary, but this is the only game that ever had me on the edge of my seat. Driving the vehicles was a hoot!! Well worth it!

Games?. If you're answer was yes in the three questions above then you like HALO.The Bugs are Just in the inmagination of
people that just see Evil in all the things that Mr Microsoft Gates release.
