Xbox game hits PC, finally.

First off, I have read tons of reviews that say this game will not run on their high-end CPU. Bull crap. This game runs fine on my 2.3 MGhz Pentium 2. Just wanted to clear that up.
The single-player is okay, not the best i've ever played. The AI is iffy, there's no co-op, and the levels get repetetive fast. The happy story is the multiplayer.
To put it short, the multiplayer is a blast. People have been complaining about teamkillers. They have autobanning, doy? With 6 new maps, 2 new weapons(should have added more), and 2 new vehicles, it'll keep you playing for hours.
At $20.00, this is a real deal.

Great Game, Great Story

Halo: Combat Evolved is a great choice for FPS lovers. It is a great FPS that starts out with easy levels and gets harder and harder. It makes up for it's not-so-good graohics with its incredible story and sound. Halo is widely known to be an awesome computer game, and Halo: Combat Evolved is no exception. Overall, this game is good for everyone who likes shooting and FPS games and should only be rated T for teen.

Halo is the best game ever on XBOX, but now, it is finally on PC!! The only problems is that the controls are a little hard to remember, and get use to, and the game requires a really high, strong video card to project the correct image. But everything else, is fine. I love to use the new weapons on the multiplayer, and the new warthog. My favorite new weapon personally is the Fuel Rod Gun. There is also a flamethrower too. Now their is a new warthog with a rocketlauncher and you can use Banshees on multiplayer. To make it project the correct image, you probably need to install a graphics PC card such as Radeon, etc. or just do what the other guy told you to do with the shortcut, and properties, etc. The campaign mode is about the same, except for new comments and putdowns by Cortana, the marines and I think the Grunts. It also includes about 6 new maps I think. The maps are more exciting to play in. I really recommend this game to anyone, who likes action/adventure games.

Halo 9.6

Wow this is one of the best shooting games of all time. The Story Line is the best of any game I have ever played. The Music makes you feel like your in a movie. Sometimes this game get you to the eage of your chair woundering what is going to happen in the movies. I have a lot of star wars games (Battlefront I, II, Jedi academy, Jedi Outcast) and a few WWII games(Meadle of Hornor, Call of Duty). I was very inpressted with this game. The graphics aren't up to date but they aren't awful. That is probly the weakest link the graphics. Don't be like "oh the graphics stink I'm not buying this". No the graphics won't inpress you but there still pretty darn good. For those of you who have parents that don't like M rated games..... well you can tell them that it's not that bloody goary or whatever. You can even turn of the blood and Goar so it's a teen game. This was my first M rated game. And its not that bloody at all. The multiplayer is amazing. There are so many different modes and mapes it is awesome. Can't wait till Halo 2 is coming out on PC. It requires windows Vista so it will probley come out in feb 2007. There are also vehicles you can drive even an alian plane!

Bad stuff.

It has a great plot but it never fully explanse it. As I said the graphics aren't up to date. Another large problem are the leavle layout. You go in to a room kill all of the ailians and find a hall way to get out. The next room is THE EXACT SAME AS THE ONE YOU JUST WENT THOUGHT!!!! I mean come on how dumb is that? Also I think there should have been more wepons options. But other then that this game Rocks

Ratings are 10 best 1 worst.
Gameplay 9.7
Graphics 8.9
Sound 10
Plot 10
Replay vaul 9.1
Multiplayer 9.9
Over All 9.8

Well, compared to other Multiplayer games like CounterStrike this does lack a few things but other than that the game is pure fun. Umm ... I agree with the previous reviewer about teamkillers on the Multiplayer online mode but it's hard to know which players are teammates and which aren't cuz we all look the same. But TKers are in every online based game even CounterStrike has a bunch of them. Overall this game has a really clean graphic and entertaining gameplay. I'd recommend you buy it.

Halo is a must-have for the first-person shooter fanatic. The graphics are great, story-line interesting, and the controls the best i have experienced in a fps. The great thing about the PC version as opposed to the Xbox is how simple it is to play online. No matter what time you pick to play, there is always a good server to play on.

On the downside, online play will sometimes be a little slow, or populated by people who like to just make you angry any way they can. A little disappointing, but something you will have to deal with in pretty much any multiplayer environment. Also, it seems that the game is a little picky on which graphics cards it works on, so be warned that even if you have a decent one, it may cause the entire game to be unplayable (everything is just "shadows"). For the great gameplay, however, these downfalls are not so bad.

Overall, I would recommend anyone who hasn't played Halo should at least try it, and anyone who has probably already knows that they should own it.

Good Game, But Not As Good As The Xbox Version !!!!!!!!!

I'm not the biggest PC gamer, I usually stick to my Xbox, but I must say this version has way better graphics, along with new weapons like the fuel rod cannon, and the flamethrower. Yet, the campaign mode is really no different from the Xbox version at all, and really you need some real advanced hardware as well, to play this game. The timing was off to now you have games like Half Life 2, Unreal, and Doom 3 out, on the PC as well as Far Cry and Call of Duty, really not the best timing since the Xbox version has been out now for 2 years.

Yes the multi player has lots of cool options, with online options. The problem is that the online system doesn't work that well at all, and they also eliminated co op from the multi player options. The multi player on the pc version is just terrible, and is stripped down compared too the console version. So all you have is the single player campaign mode which is only 10 levels and about 12-14 hours of gameplay unless you put the game in Heroic mode. So after you beat the game their is no multi player fun at all, and there is no way to set up LAN parties and such with the pc version.

Well, if you look past the flaws, the campaign mode is fun and has a edge graphic wise over the Xbox version, along with the Flamethrower and Fuel Rod Cannon, which were both nice toys. I will admit the controls on the PC version are easier than I would expect since I'm usually a system gamer. What can I say if you own a Pc and you don't own the Xbox, get the PC version, but if you are given a choice between the two I would still choose the Xbox version though, because it has more beyond the campaign mode. Halo is still a great game no matter what system it's on. The game will sometimes freeze up too which I didn't like.

Overall, I will give the PC version of Halo a 4/5,... great game but can't out shine the Xbox version!!!

i have halo on xbox and i think this is better! the online play runs smoothly on a broadband connection and theres rarely any lag. also online play is free so all you have to do is register then you can play online till your hand falls off and not have to pay a penny (apart from internet connection) i highly reccomend this game mainly because of its great online play and great everything!

Halo provides a great story line backed by exciting gameplay. The Halo multiplayer is great but you need a huge screen tv due to the screen being split... unless you have Halo 2 (xbox live) or Halo PC (free gaming over the internet). Once you get into the online or xbox live multiplayer games of capture the flag, king of the hill, slayer... you can't stop playing, needs a label that says warning this game may be addictive

Fantastic game, can't wait for Halo2

This game is the most fun I've ever played. The storyline is complex enough to make a TRILOGY of movies about it. Bungie did a great job with the AI and the textures.

My only gripe is this: If you don't have a SERIOUSLY tricked out video card, you won't be able to enjoy graphics to their full potential. I've got a built-in graphics card which of course runs crappily at 640x480, but I love the game too much to NOT play it. I've seen the game played on higher-end systems and they still don't get a good framerate with higher resolutions. I guess you'd have to have an Alienware computer or something.

This has prompted me to buy an Xbox 360 when it comes out so I don't have to worry about graphics quality. :-P
