Not as good as on the Xbox

The Xbox version of this game is what made the Xbox. However, the PC version is somewhat bloated and sluggish.

Play the demo before buying.

Halo on the PC is probably one of the best PC games out there. The PC version is way better than the Xbox (except for a few flaws). Online play is the best. [ATTENTION: IF YOUR NOT A NEWB, DON'T JOIN A GAME THAT SAYS "N00BS ONLY". YOU WILL ONLY GET TEAM KILLED... A LOT....]. It is the best feature for the PC version. It can go up to 16 players (PS only go to a 16 player game if have a GREAT CONNECTION!). THere are 5 kinds of online play: CTF (capture the Flag), Slayer (basically deathmatch), Oddball (wierd), King of the Hill (self explained), and Race(I dont really like race cause no one plays serious on Race games). One player is fun, but online is better.

Now for the bad side...
There is a lot of lag on Online play. i dont know why, probably Microsoft did a crappy job of networking. So get a GREAT CONNECTION!!! If you have 56k or something around there, it will lag and you will not have a lot of fun on Online. People will scream at you to get off, either that or your network connection will get crapped up and die out.
ALSO: You will need a GOOD graphics card if you want to get the best out of Halo.

LONG STORY SHORT (for you lazy people): Awesome game, bad networking. 4 stars.

This game is very good. I never get board of shootig my enemy. I would recommend this game to people who like first person shooter. The only bad thing about the game is the lag. It can become very frustrating when your killing your enemy, then lag come out of nowhere and he kills you. Once again I would recommend this game to people who like to kill other people. If you like magic games like Ever Quest or Final Fantasy this is not a good game for you I love it! Maybe you will to.

If you've played quite a few shooters this one is not anything ground-breaking. It has a great storyline that is fun to participate in - but it is strictly linear: you have no control over what you're doing... again not a big shocker for most shooter games. The gameplay is the same: shoot the bad guys, get to a certain point, save the world (or in this case the universe)... Using the new weapons, alien technology, and some other interesting anemities creates a different atmosphere but I've played this game a lot before.

If you've played Call of Duty by Activision - stick to that game, you're not missing anything with Halo.

I've read many hardware problems experienced and I have to shrug in confusion: the game doesn't even flinch on my system and the system isn't anything special. Make sure all your drivers are updated, your Windows OS is updated (including any directx updates), and disable any unneeded background programs...

This game is loads of fun. The story is the same as the Halo for xbox so it's the same game. The new thing is the online multiplayer, which is totaly awesome. It just about beats the game. There all the same game styles from the Halo on xbox but cooler because you play against all these differen't people. There are 6 new levels and two new guns you can pick up (fuel rod and flame thrower). If your looking for a good action/combat game and/or a an awesome online multiplayer experiece get this game.

All I can say about this game is that you BETTER have a AWESOME computer to run it. I recently bought a new computer and I met all the system requirements for the game (even beat the requirements by 2) and this game did not run worth a crap (It was very laggy on all LOW settings) so I had to take the game back. It's kind of dissapointing because it seems like a great game to. So people make sure you have a very up to date computer and make sure you buy more RAM if you want to play this game.

Ive never had an XBOX, so I only got to play this at friends' houses. Now I have a good PC, and I got Halo PC. Single Player is still incredibly fun...but when I tried to play online, i faced a lagfest. Instead of walking around, i was warping around. My camera angle was swinging around erratically, and it took me several seconds to get into a vehicle. My internet connection is nowhere near slow, and neither is my computer. It still lags. So i just play this offline, and play Unreal Tournament 2004 (which is much better anyway) both offline and on. Get UT2K4. Its better.

Halo: A New Dimension

Halo's craze may be over, but the new features give an entirely new dimension to Halo. There are new weapons (flamethrower, plasma grenade launcher), a new type of Warthog (equipt with a rocket launcher), and, finally being able to fly a banshee, and BEING ABLE TO PLAY ONLINE!!! But with everything, there is a downside. But in this case it has nothing to do with the game, but the online players, who like to shoot their own teammates and cuss in capital letters. Although, if you can overcome this blemish, Halo may be the best game ever.

Halo is now one of those games that somebody 10 years from now will probably remeber. The pc version is no different,it has great gameplay and a smooth interface and frankly, when compared with many other good shooters such as the Call of Duty, halo does fine. BUT as people before me have mentioned the level design is probably the worst i have ever seen in a shooter. the multiplayer is being fixed by multiple patches so there is no problem with the multiplayer.

It's more than I expected. It is a solid first person shooter. It has great online play and single player missions. I'm not able to play too much online because I have a 56k modem. But other than that it is great. See you on the battlefield.
