A couple of years ago, I bought Road Rage, and I finally decided to share my thoughts on this fun but not very good game. So far, the Simpsons franchise has released many games. The Simpsons is the longes running and best T.V. series in history, but the games, unfortunately, are not one for the record books. Many years ago, in the early 1990s, The Simpsons for arcades was released. The game was quite fun, but did not capture the feel of the Simpsons. Then came The Simpsons wrestling, for the Playstation. The game was fun, but got boring quickly, very similar to Road Rage. And as far as the Simpsons Skateboarding goes, I won't even get into how bad that game is. Now, the problem with Road Rage is that it is not a fresh formula. Instead, it is merely a Crazy Taxi clone, with The Simpsons. While the game was as enjoyable as Crazy Taxi, any fan of Crazy Taxi became bored because they had already played the same game in a different style. Road Rage is not a bad game, it just really doesn't give the Simpsons video games that extra boost that they need. The Simpsons Hit and Run was recently released.(Check out my preview on that.)It is just like Vice City, except in the Simpsons world. Of course, it is not as violent. However, Hit and Run is the best Simpsons game ever made, so get that instead of Road Rage. But I won't lie to you. Any hardcore fan of the series should give Road Rage a look, even just a rental. But get Hit and Run instead! 'Nuff said! This is one game that Marge would frown at, and Bart would love. Decide which you are like!My Rating:7.0.

I am a Simpsons fan, tried and true and although I am new to the PS2 community (I've only had my system about 3 weeks) and I would not consider myself a "rabid gamer"(yet). However, other than Grand Theft Auto 3 (the reason I caved in and bought PS2), this is the game I find myself playing the most. The pace and thrill of each ride through Springfield is very exciting. The game is easy to learn for us newbies and the controls handle very well. The game also has lots of in-jokes and sound bytes for the Simpsons maniac (some do repeat after time but they diversify with each new level that is achieved). Other reviewers have mentioned the long load times of this game and that is true, even small 20 second mini-missions take an above average time to load which is most certainly a drag. Even so, Road Rage is a worthy investment for the Simpsons purist and an adrenaline rush for everyone else (especially those fans of Crazy Taxi). I am also new to writing reviews so this is generally a practice one for me but I hope my experience with this game can help sway the decision of someone out there.
Happy Holidays!

This is a fun driving game. The jist is Crazy Taxi in Springfield. There are 12 cars to unlock & 5 maps to unlock. I've had this game a week and its very very fun. The load time mentioned in previous reviews is true however you can speed up load speeds by changing the drive speeds. In options without any game inserted you can change the cd read speed. As for game play it is very addictive. You can practice on Sunday Drive to hone your skills. Then Rage on the Road Rage mode to earn money and to unlock vehicles and maps. Almost everywhere mentioned in The Simpson's World of Springfield is present. You can go to Moe's you can drive through the Center of the School. Besides that there are quite a few shortcuts to find. The Canyonaro piloted by Marge is one heavy duty vehicle. Some of th cars to unlock is Apu's - Sports Car, Rev. Lovejoy's - Book Burning Mobile, Otto's - School Bus, Chief Wiggum's - Patrol Car, Barney's - Snow Plow (one mission you have to run over 12 City Mascots with the plow), Scientists - Hover car, Krusty's - Klown Car, Willey's - Tractor, and Flander's - Station Wagon to name a few. Pure driving satire is this games charm. Hours of mayhem on the streets of Springfield. Watch out for the Buses and Smithers driving Mr. Burns around town. One of my favorites so far for the PS2.
Road Rage is too much fun!

Have a tough day at work?? don't take it out on the people in your life! Go home and get behind the wheel of Mr Plow or Marge Simpson's Canyonero! This game is incredible fun as you race through imaginary Springfield picking up and dropping off it's citizens in a race against the clock.
The story goes, you might know.. that Mr Burns has these nuclear buses and folks lash out by renting their cars out as taxis to make some cash. You have a choice to be any one of the Simpsons as you drive around Springfield picking up passengers and crash your way through town. Running over bus stops will get you a couple extra seconds.. Run over lightposts, mailboxes, fences and trees.. more points for you! Score well and you will unlock other areas of town, or you can choose to unlock another vehicle.. Apu's sports car is one of my favorites!
You can play with the Sunday Driver option which allows you to drive around town in an un-timed game. This allows you to learn the layout before you go to the Road Rage game for points. There is also a 2 player "Head to Head" option. This will split the screen which I found a little distracting.. but it's fun in that you can steal your opponant's passenger's from them! =)
The graphics are pretty good.. the attention to detail is amazing. One might actually believe Springfield USA is a real town and the quips and cuts that the denizens of Springfield make are truely hilarious. The only down to this game is the impatience I had waiting for the game to load so I could try again!! =)
This game is well worth the money! Be sure and invest in some memory if you don't already have it as you will want to save your scores!

This game has fun for everyone. It is Crazy Taxi except one better. Crazy Taxi does not have any two player mode but Simpsons: Road Rage does. The graphics are not show stopping but they are authentic to the TV show. It is also enjoyable just to drive around the six huge levels. And to unlock the other drivers.
However with the good comes the bad the load time for the game is to long. However it is worth the of the load to play the level.
I WAS a fan of Crazy Taxi but now The Simpsons: Road Rage is replacing it. A must have for Simpsons' fans and Crazy Taxi fans alike.
A lot of fun

I don't know why magazine reviews are so hard on this game. So what if it is a rip off of Crazy Taxi? Crazy Taxi would be a better game if the Simpsons were in it. I love the graphics in this game. The colors are vibrant and pleasing to the eye. I wish the Simpsons characters were more 2D though. I can't get used to them in 3D. Their voices are clear and funny. The control is solid. You wont be crashing into things everytime you make a turn. The best thing about this game is just exploring Springfield. After watching the show all these years it's a joy to interact with it.
Simpsons surge far above Crazy Taxi

The Simpsons: Road Rage is by far the best racing game on Playstation 2. Play as over 17 different characters including the Simpson family, Krusty, Moe, Apu, Barney, Professor Frink, Officier Wiggam, etc. Choose one of 6 courses including the Nuclear Power Plant and the Springfield Dam. Pick up over 30 characters and take them to one of 75 different locations. Non-stop fun.
The object of this game is to collect enough money to buy back the transit system from evil Mr. Burns who intoxicated the passengers with nuclear waste. Money will allow you to unlock another driver or course, your choice. Plus with 10 different missions like running over baseball mascots or smashing mailboxes just keeps adding to the fun. You can also play with a friend to see who can get 5, 10, or 15 grand first.
Extra features include safe rides which earns you bonus money and road rages where you can crash into the interactive scenary for even more money. This game has nothing to lose!
Classic yet repetitive

As a die hard Simpsons lover, I had to pick this game up! Especially with the cheap copied games here in korea...anyhow, all the voice acting in this game is done by the real actors, and includes almost all the Simpson's cast! From homer's love for doughnuts to barney's loveable burps! Only person I think they should have included is sideshow bob, but krusty is still here to keep us company!
Ok, here's the major drawback. The idea of the game is to save Springfield from C.W.Burns new nuclear powered buses by the players becoming taxi drivers for the residents of the town. Ok, rip off of crazy taxi, but it's the Simpsons, you can't loose! Unless of course the entire game becomes repetitive and monotonous. As you pick up the players and ferry them to their destination, you earn money. The goal is $1 million bucks, and you unlock new cars and locations along the way. Well, you find yourself doing the same location over and over, whichever one you're familiar with, and with whichever car you feel is the fastest. Over and over and over again. They should have thrown in a few more extras and options to break up the monotony, but the only thing to keep you company are the players hilarious wisecracks.
All in all, pick this one up if you love the simpsons. No other reason really.
Hail the Best Arcade-Racing Game...EVER!

I am a big Simpson's fan, even though I don't get FOX, and for what it's worth, The Simpson's Road Rage delivers all of the zany characters and Springfield landmarks into one big time-challenging wise-cracking speed and money making extravaganza that beats Crazy Taxi any day!
One of the greatest things of this game is that you don't have to enjoy the Simpsons to have a heck of a good time with this title, because the funny lines and fast-paced action of it all will leave you hypnotized. But for you Simpson Fanatics out there, this is one title you have to get.
First off, the whole point of the game is to buy back Springfield's transit system from Mr. Burns, as his nuclear powered buses are, "a threat to the public health." You do this by picking up passengers and getting them to there destinations as fast as possibe-the faster you are, the more time and money you make.
Over 30 halarious characters from the show appear, including rare ones, such as the baseball mascot and moleman, plus you get to drive as 18 of them. Each one has their own cool automoble, truck, soap box racer or flying car and when on the road say thier own endless amount of unique things to thier costumers.
The Simpson characters that you pick up also make insults about your driving, and make you laugh when they jump out of your car if not dropped off fast enough!
There are plenty of modes including Sunday Drive where you get a feel for Springfield with no time limit, Missions Mode, where you piliot specific characters to fufill their own goals and get you a secret unlockable, and Head-to-Head where you and a friend compete to deliver one person to a destination.
And as you trudge twoards your goal of making One Million Dollars, other unlockables include 6 worlds, (Nuclear Power Plant, Entertainment District etc..) with very familiar things from the episodes like Krusty Burgers and Mr. Burns Mansion, with everything completley destructabe like bilboards and trees, with many shortcuts and jumps. Also you can unlock other characters to drive as. What is really cool is that you decide which unlockable you want to get, and you can drive over everything in sight!
The game engine has also been created to make everything look like a Simpson episode, from it's thickly outlined buildings to it's scenery and characters. They also had the real Simpson voice cast come in and have the actual character's voices included in the game!
To wrap things up nice and easily, The Simpson's Road Rage is challenging and halarious, with several modes, great characters and the desire to make a whole lot of money!
This is a must-have for any gamer, no matter how familiar the Simpsons seem to you!
Don't have a cow man, and just get this title!
Great game for many reasons. BUY IT.

Originally, I decided to go out and get 'Crazy Taxi' for PS2. They didn't have it in stock, but they recommended 'The Simpsons Road Rage'. I got it, and I am definetely glad I did. It's exactly like Crazy Taxi, but with Simpsons characters and levels. You can role play as 1 of over 30 characters, all with unique vehicles, and you can explore various different worlds in the game.
The object of the game is to earn 1 million dollars in order to stop Mr. Burns' transit station. This obviously is done by carpooling characters to various places. I found the game really addicting and fun, one of the best for PS2.
There are 4 modes. Road Rage, where you carpool to earn money, Mission Mode, where you can complete missions for fun - the good thing about mission mode is if you can't complete one, you move on to the next one. Then there's Sunday Drive, which is really fun. You freely drive around town, with the option to carpool character's for practice/fun. I like destructing the town though, haha. And last, 2 player, where you obviously go head to head in the game.
Overall, the game is awesome. 5 stars. Even if you aren't a Simpson fan, you'll like it. If you're a simpson fan, you'll absolutely love it. Get this game.
