This game is a really good time. You start out as Yoshi, who is my favorite character, because he can run pretty fast, and has really good jumping powers. By collecting stars, and keys, you eventually unlock the other characters (Mario, Lauigi, and Wario). When you find certian keys you unlock mini games which you will find at the main menu. Mini games are really fun, as are the multiplayer games. All the mini games uses is the touch screen, so if you are worried that this game doesnt use the touch screen alot, think again. All in all this game is really really fun, and I highly reccomend it.
BEST MARIO GAME EVER!!!!!!!

This game is awesome!!!!!!!!!!! although with about 12 hours of gameplay you can beat the game, nintendo has been clever about hiding stars. It took me a month to get all 150, and i had to use walkthroughs. This is Without doubt the best mario game i ever played. But that's the best part!!!! it is a mario-yoshi-luigi-wario game, and that is the coolest thing ever! it is fun to be able to do levels with everyone, from butt scratching wario to always hungry yoshi. and the mini games REALLY use the touch screen! I recomend this game to anyone who likes mario games, super mario 64,and people who want to play as other characters than mario.
THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!1

Flame's Super Mario 64 DS Review!
Super Mario 64 DS - Nintendo DS
Published by Nintendo.
Introduction - Princess Peach!? Where'd you go! Well looks like another job for Super Mario, searching for Peach in the Mushroom Kingdom, but wait... where's our Hero!? Who better to search for Mario than... Yoshi!
Story - 9/10 Once again our Hero must find Princess Peach and save her from the clutches of Bowser! Except this time there is a twist, Mario, Luigi, and Wario have been locked away in Paintings! (Remind you of Luigi's Mansion?) Yoshi must work to help unlock one of the hero's and from there on out you gotta get them all, to use special talents they have. Finding the 150 stars, and showing Bowser who's boss.
Graphics - 10/10 These graphics for the DS are just plain beautiful. They clearly look better than the Nintendo 64 graphics and the new added characters are done very beautifully.
Controls - 8/10 The controls are good but can get alittle annoying. In the controls you can also switched between styles and use the stylus to move and the buttons to do things such as jump, sprint, and pick things up. The buttons are good just it can seem like they are crammed together at times.
Camera - 9/10 A rotating floating guy on a cloud with a Camera? Way cool, I know. The Camera is definitely a good thing in this game because you can constantly move it. Some views are really hard to see though if you are next to a wall or below something.
Replay Value - 9/10 You just finished collecting everything, and you've beat the boss and have 150 stars, so why keep playing? MINI-GAMES!!! This game is packed with them and can keep you and maybe your friends creating the better scores!
Overall - 9/10 This game is really fun and enjoyable. Aside from being a Remake of Super Mario 64 for the N64, This game has tons of new features like the characters and mini-games. It's definitely worth being picked up at the store!

I never even liked Mario 64 that much. But this on delivers on several fronts.
First, it is a very good demo for the DS graphical capabilities, I mean this thing is in full 3D and the worlds are huge and filled with enemies. You will miss the analog stick, so either learn to use the thumb strap or just use the d-pad.
Second, the gameplay allows you to still play the adventure mode in short bursts, so you can play one level turn off the DS and never miss a beat.
Third, even if you don't play the aventure mode that much, the mini-games are addicting as well; if you can't afford to buy a puzzler like "Feel the Magic" the minigames will hold untill you do.
Fourth, the multiplayer allows you to share one copy with several DS's so it is very efective as well.
All this comming from someone who is not a diehard Mario fan. The DS doesn't have a lot of games, but this one is excellent and gives hope of things to come. Now I only hope some gives Ocarina of Time the same treatment.
Comes back with more fun!

The original Super Mario 64 featured only Mario trying to save Princess Peach from Bowser, with only a short encounter with Yoshi for completeing the game 100%, now you can go all out with the 3 Mario Brothers, Mario, Luigi and Wario and the loveable dino, Yoshi.
You start off the game as Yoshi, who in worlds can put on Wario's, Mario's and Luigi's hat to turn into them (so can the Bros.) and you job at first is to find Mario and rescue him. Then changing between Yoshi and Mario however many times you want, your next goal is to save Luigi from the Boo's as well as deafeating Bowser as you go. Then as Luigi, to save the fattest Bros. Wario.
You can change between characters as much as you like, use their own special abilities (Yoshi eats enemies, throws eggs and fire, while Mario can float and fly) makes the game original.
There are now mini games, which you unlock by capturing rabbits. And they require you to use the touch screen to earn coins.
Toad makes an apperance as usual and tells you helpful hints.
Overall I think any fan of the first game would love this one.
One of the best!

I have never played the original Super Mario 64. But I can already tell that the DS version beats it down. SM64 DS starts out with Mario, Luigi, and Wario dashing to Peach's castle for cake. Once they are gone for several hours, Yoshi ventures out to find Mario and Company [I won't spoil the entire story]. The Visuals are are very clear and detailed. You'll be able to see the rocky brick walls of the castle or smooth surface of a bomb-omb. As for the sound, it's just perfect-all said. During The game you'll soon be able to use Mario, Luigi, and Wario along with Yoshi! They all get cool, unique powerups. Mario inflates like a balloon and floats around with his' [It's my favorite one]. The worlds you enter seem a tad boring at first. But it's get more exciting the more you progress. SM64 DS is pretty long, about two months worth of gameplay. My advice, buy it! It 's one of the best games on the DS!

On November 21st 2004, nintendo will change gamers everywhere. The remake of Mario 64 is a great way to start this new journey. I've read that the graphics are around 94 bits(30 more bits than the n64) and that will make the game more beautiful than ever. I watched a 16 minute Mario 64 demo at gamestop.com and the mini games look very addictive and the guy said that you can waste the batterries just by playing them cause they're so addicting but that wouldn't be a problem if you can charge your ds while you play(like the sp). 1st on my list, 4 days away, i got money saved, and above all BELONGS IN THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS OF 2004.
THIS IS A AWSOME GAME!!!!!!!!

This game is a great port over from the orignial. Everything works great. My only gripe about it is the directioal pad is a little bit more difficult than the joy stick the original control had on the N64. It takes a little getting used to, but its nothing that detracts from the game play. The new levels and the use of the new characters are great.
wow -from a 36 year old getting back into the portable scene

I bought this when i bought the DS on Sunday morning. The game's graphics are spectacular! i remember getting an Atari 2600 back in 1979 and thought that was fascinating. This game system has better graphics than the Super Nintendo or the Sega Genesis. The graphics are on par with Playstation 1 or Nintendo 64. But with the small pixels the graphics look better.
The games little control buttons could have been better. The movement key is really small and hard to get used to but it is fun noneoftheless.
The game play has come a long way since nintendo's "Mario Bros" from the original nintendo game system from the 80s.
If you were to show this to someone in the 80s they would have thought it was science fiction! It's amazing what they can do with silicon chips. Very awesome technology. We really are living in a wonderful time where technology has made living easier and more fun (although there are reasons why technology isn't good, but lets not go there ;) ).
Anyway, Thanks to Nintendo for a wonderful system and making life a little more fun!
