Good...BUT TOO HARD!!!!!!

I got this game for Christmas, and played it all day almost. The graphics are beautiful (when they're not playing all the movie scenes that we've already seen), but there was a problem. IT WAS TOO HARD! I beat the first to levels, but on the Mines of Moria, I died at least 3 times before realizing the game was on "Normal". Yes, I always play video games on their easiest form (the first time, then when I beat that mode, I move up a level). Even set on "Easy", the game was a bit of a challenge. The reason for this was I wasn't killing my enemies correctly. I was pressing the 4 main buttons (Triangle, Circle, Box & X), when the only bottons that damage the enemies are the strong attack (Triangle) and X (the swift attack). Then I taught myself how to use the bow (by pressing and holding L1 and firing it with X). I beat the level up to the Watcher (the giant octopus), in which I died twice, until realizing how to defeat him. Once I beat the level, I went into the "Expirence Earned" section, in which you learn curtesy in the form of exp. points. When you kill enemies, you get rated on how good your combat was on defeating them: "fair", "good", "excellent" & "perfect". You get points for each one, but you get more points for (example) good to fair and "perfect" to "excellent". What can you buy? New combos (which you pretty much have to force yourself to remember), powered up arrows & axes (what Gimli throws), increased health & more.

As you know, you can play as these three characters: Aragorn, Legolas & Gimli. Each has their own special combat features. Gimli's strong, but slow. And he's short, too, so it's a fr reach on enemies like Urah-Ki. Also, when he throws axes, it takes him longer than Aragorn & Legolas. Still, he's my second best fighter. Legolas, who I would've thought would have been my second, is my third best fighter. He fights merely on speed, and has hardly any strength, which is bad when fighting enemies like Cave Troll. He can hold the most arrows, though, a total of 60, and he shoots the fastest as well. My best character, Aragorn, is a mixture of both speed and strength. He can hold a maximum of 50 bows.

Now, the reason this game's hard is because there's TOO many enemies. You can walk out into a field, and all of a sudden 10 sword-swining Urah-Kai can pop out and kill you instantly. Most levels take at least three tries even on "Easy". But, if you're unlike me and like extremely hard games, then you'll like this. But, if you're a Tolkein fan, that's an exception. It'll still be hard; but it'll be fun.

P.s.: If you haven't already beaten the game, the secret character is Isildur. Man, I thought it would be Gandalf or even Gollum or someone...

This Game Is Awsome

Hi. I just got this game and I love it! The battle style, graphics, sound and music are amazing. Some of my friends say that the game gets very manotonus, so I guess you really have to like killing things to stay interested. The only downside to this game(for me at least) is that I can't seem to get anywhere without the restore health code(hold L1, L2, R1, R2, then press triangle, down, X, up). I guess im just not that good, but the enemies do a lot of damage! Well anyway, I love it and highly reccomend it to anyone who likes constant killing games.

Great

This game is worth the money I really liked it although I thought it just a tad too easy but that was with the cheat codes I don't think I could've beat it in the same way without them. I thought the last level was easier then some others and the hardest levels were the timed ones.

An Excellent Game!!!!!

I have to admit, I am not a big LOTR fan, but when I rented this game, I felt like I was in the game! The graphics are amazing, the music is great, and the characters' voices makes the game twice as fun! I definetely reccomend this game to anyone who likes or doesn't like LOTR!! It is a PS2 must have!

This game was way incredible! The graphics were amazing! The best feature of this game was being able to play either Aragorn, Gimli, or Legolas. The buying of combos was also really well done. The combos and moves the characters do are just like the movies. The game play is much better than an RPG set-up or first person view. The game is really great because it adds the original movie sceens in with the animation. It is really fun to play because you get very into it after you play for a while. You can really get good at it eventually. The game is a little short, but not if you put it on a normal or expert level. There are also very good codes for it(if you want to go the cheat way).

A superb game for the Playstation 2

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is one of the better games I've seen for Playstation 2 recently. This game is very in-depth, and the graphics are rendered near-perfectly to match the scenes of the movie. And the characters (you can play as Aragorn, Legolas or Gimli, and Isuldur in the first level) are very life-life in their creation as well. The only real flaw of this game is the fact that it should be made to have two player cooperation where you team with a friend and play through the levels. But other than that this game is definitely worth every cent. I would recommend though that you rent it first to make sure its for you, but I personally think its a great game for the Playstation 2.

This game rules Middle Earth.

Something I expect on an EA-made game. This game is one of the best ever film-adapted games I've ever played. Unfortunately there are fewer scenarios, but I guess changing the difficulty makes up for it. Warning though: if you haven't watched The Two Towers, don't play the game yet. Watch the movie first before playing to avoid being spoiled (assuming you never read the book, that is). Buy this game. It's worth every buck.

good. in the middle of playing it

i love how they use the movie and then it goes to the game i think that is soo kool. they actually had the actors from the movie this time. that was great, really felt like were there. graphics were good, could be better, the faces of the charcters are somewhat fuzzy. i didnt like how they went back to the first one nd made me do moria again. but it was alot diff in this one. this game is VERY challenging. because u cant save in the middle. if u die u have to do the whole level over. gets a bit frustrating. it came ok packaged it wasnt in an actual case more like a paper made for floppys but the game was fine.
would highly recommend this seller.
very fast delivery

This game is cool.Althow they give you billions of combos none of them really work. Its fun to use your O atack to knock guys into lava or of a ledge but its cinda hard. The Fangorn forest level is scary because orks pop out of nowhare. But you cant use X atack unless your fighting goblins because it dosnt do as much damage as triangle. If you dont have this game already,go and buy it!

Dissapointed

This game should have could have been great. The graphics while not terrible could have been better as could have gameplay which seemed redundant through out the game. The game itself was pretty short and quite easy up until the last three levels which did present a challenge that should have been there through the entire game. There were times i felt as if i were playing a 2D game and a side scroller at that. I think they rushed production to coincide with the release of the movie and cut some corners. Perhaps The Return Of The King game will prove to be better but im not counting on it. Great movies? Yes. Great novels? Definitly. Not so with the game.
