i wont' take long on this one...
it's fun, much safer than either LSD or Shrooms, and it will keep you busy for a while. However, I can't say that it's a jewel of modern game-making. As pretty and fun as it is, it's easy to get bored with Alice, and it's even simpler to forget about it.
If you got time to kill and it's summer and you're into the whole ACID-culture visuals, you'll probably love ALICE. I know I did, and I'm old! But yeah, it's a good product, just a tad repetuous gameplay-wise.

This is the best game I've ever bought. It's got everything for everyone. The fantasy of Alice in Wonderland, and some killer fighting scenes. It's a pretty hard game, but even if you don't like fighting games you should still try this game out; it will difinately change your mind.

It might be a fun game if Alice's stats were not in the center of the screen. I have tried everything to fix this: from completely changing the resolution to messing with every last option in the game. I guess I'll just have to wait to see the movie instead.
Deserves better than 5 stars.

If you're looking for a challenging adventure with an adult sense of humor try American McGee's Alice. The graphics are great. I think the soundtrack alone is worth the price. In fact it's available on CD. And there's plenty of replayability and the game play is quick to learn. But what really sets this fantastic game apart is its bizarre setting and demented storyline. In this Wonderland madness is real, the gore is audible and the killing can get fast and furious. There's only a handful of weapons to choose from which are earned as you go along so moving and strategy play an important part in your survival. In other words, you can't always just stand back and blast away. In fact, the main weapon is a butcher knife. Lots of hacking!...
Note: There is now a movie in planning based on this game to be directed by Wes (Nightmare on Elm Street) Craven.

This game is visually stunning, and it is based on a great story. When you finish mangling them critters, go back and mangle them again! Maybe Mr. McGee can design an updated version with parallel paths and mathematical puzzles. This is a first class American Made game.

Alice must be the best computer game I've ever played. It is a platform game (with lots of jumping), and also an action game. It has great creepy atmospheric music. Dive into the twisted worlds of cards, chess and clocks. At the beginning, it has a spellbinding opening sequence. The Cheshire cat is your companion along the way. Alice has dazzling visuals which is showcased in a variety of environments. I played it on medium difficulty, and I found it to be quite hard. But it was so enjoyable. I didn't usually get too frustrated dying several times in the same part because I got to view the environment again. It's wonderful that you can save anywhere you want, even during a boss battle. I beat the game and it is quite long. Lewis Carroll was begging for this to happen to his story! It's clever that the programmers are aware of briticisms in the book and bring them into the game. You gain a nice variety of weapons for attacking the enemies, including a knife, bombs, flamingo croquet mallet and my favorite, jax. The AI isn't too good, but this prevents it from being exorbitantly difficult. It has fully customizable controls. I had a lot of fun with it. Cool game! If you like challenging (but not impossible) platform games, what are you waiting for? Buy it. May I also recommend the book "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman, because it is also about a girl oppressed in a twisted otherworld.
