This is a must buy. You have never seen a game a cool as this. The game play is kinda like tomb raider but the graphics make the game. You wont be disapointed

Hands down, the best video game I've ever played. It's become something of a cult classic, and rightfully so; it's delightfully creepy, complex (to the reviewers who claimed it was "linear" - are you insane?), and the graphics are awesome. I've beat it several times now, and I just keep going back for more.

Buy it from Amazon

Overstock.com ripped me off and I could have gotten it here from an Amazon seller for $6 cheaper, but I didn't realize it until a while after the fact because I couldn't find the game anywhere and simply forgot about Amazon somehow.

The game is very good (the keyboard/mouse controls are a bit annoying to me as sometimes you have to jump around in tight positions and I'd like a gamepad for that), but it was a little hard to find, but if you're reading this, I'm telling you that your best shot pricewise is from an Amazon seller.

When I first heard of this game, I was looking forward to it. By the time I had played it, I was really disappointed. The AI is horrible, and there are glitches all over. There's not much else to the game but the graphics... probably the best use of the Q3 engine yet, but graphics can't carry a game. American McGee should have stuck with level design, he's obviously way over his head here.

After finishing this game, I immediately deleted it from my harddrive. There is absolutely no point in playing it again. The game offers nothing in terms of replay value. It is a strictly linear and formulaic game.

Early on in the game I realized that I was doing the same things over and over again. Killing enemies very easily using the same weapon. Although the game gives several weapons, there really is no need to use anything other than the card throw except for the last stages of the game.

The graphics were nice, but there wasn't much that blew me away with its sheer intensity.

The worst part of the game is the dialouge. It doesn't get worse than the annoying cheshaire cat. He tries to sound intelligent and morbid at the same time, but instead comes off as stupid and pompous.

The story was also very flawed. It seems like they put all their effort into the graphics and very little (if any) attention into the storyline.

Do not buy this game. Do not encourage video game developers to continue making these kind of games.

The sooner more people realise this, the better. Computer gaming is not just entertainment, it's an art form every bit as powerful as films and books. And that is exactly what makes this game so important.

Viewed as a work of art, Alice is sublime in every respect - the graphics are highly detailed and display perhaps the best and most imaginitive artwork ever seen in a computer game (Grim Fandango is its only contender). The soundtrack (by Chris Vrenna, of Nine Inch Nails fame) is excellent, the voice acting brilliant, particularly by game standards. Everything about this game - including the menu screens - reeks quality and imagination. Detail has been lavished on the tiniest of tiny objects - witness the glow-fly crosshair, for example. There is no way this game cannot be classified as an excellent work of art.

Pity the actual gameplay isn't that great. It's not awful - it's pretty good, in fact - but it's not brilliant. Overall, as a game, four stars. As a work of art, 5 stars.

Quick Fix...

Poor Alice! Her parents have been killed in a fire which she blames herself for, and her Wonderland World has turned sour. We're in Alice's mind, and she needs help! I played the game on a PC --- the only technical problem I had was a sudden stuttering of the graphics after about an hour which required me to save the game and reload the program. Progress through the game is straightforward, solving simple puzzles, killing a few adversaries. Anyone who finished even the first TombRaider will have little problem with any of the obstacles presented. The game is probably of less interest to the dedicated gamer, but is well suited for those of us with a life unable to spend eight hours a day trying to crack ridiculously illogical puzzles. The real joy of the game is the beauty with which Wonderland is rendered, and since individual levels can be completed relatively quickly, we don't have to wait too long to be treated to new images of the madness of Alice's world. Except for a few scenes, we rarely need to continuously reload the game in order to perfect some jump or other. I also found the conclusion of the game to be oddly satisfying, but that might just be me.

In summary, a visually imaginative game for players with little time who want some instant gratification.

Alice Rocks!

This game is definitely not for the kiddie kats! HOwever tres cool! Some of "Alice" fans may be disappointed by the lack of traditional Carroll-characters on the first few levels but once you get cracking the characters come in including the white rabbit, the mad hatter, the cheshire cat your guide, the duchess, mock turtle, to name a few. Both clever in design and an excellent score written by a former NIN member! Some "Alice" fans may be saddened by the deterioration of Wonderland and through the looking glass. The graphics and the narrative plot which move story along are great, often it feels as though you are watching a movie, a really cool dark twisted creepy movie! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME! The game is difficult at parts but lots of fun trying, just make sure you keep saving.!)

Could've been better

This game has great graphics, but it's too hard to play. The jumping forward is hard to control. And just a few levels into the game the enemies strength becomes overpowering and in many cases they are impossible to beat and I can't win the level. I was resorted to use the cheats to make it through. And to add to that, starting a new level can take five minutes to load. The only thing I enjoyed about this game are the great scenic environments and well drawn graphics. Overall I give this game a thumbs down.
