this is a very rare an unique game, first you won't understand it because you have too much to do in a very short amount of time and only one slot save but when you comprehend and adapt to those features, you start seeing the game in a different way and you'd begin liking it because it's truly a masterpiece: excellent graphics, excellent plot, excellent gameplay the only annoying thing it's the AI of the survivors some are really stupid.... anyway overall its a great game that you'd have to play several times to achieve everything on it, go buy it now.

but i must say it is hard to save this game did anyone else have this problem? overall tho it is fun to kill zombies with anything you can find in a mall and remember kids its rated M for mature. but overall the man flaw is saving for me not sure how far you have to go to save or what but thats really my only flaw.

I cannot stop playing this game! I was playing this for like 4.5 hours straight. This game is really realistic. You can go to shops in the plaza and eat foods and change clothing there. When you're taking photos you get categories such as brutial, horror, drama and erectora. Get this game. One of the top games of the year.

Title pretty much sums it up.
I've never been a fan of the GTA games, I prefer a smaller more detailed world than a large bland one.
Smashing zombies is fun for 15-20 minutes and then begins to drag a bit, the story missions seemed intriguing and are probably worthy of a playthrough for those that enjoyed the GTA story missions.
Graphics were above average but don't really break any new ground. Think GTA with better textures, smoother edges.

May be a great game for some people, but for my money I'd prefer something else.

I can't decide if this is one of the greatest, most innovative games in recent years, or one of the most horribly ill-conceived pieces of junk ever turned out. Be prepared for a lot of fun regularly spoiled by jaw dropping glitches and an AI system that Capcom should truly be ashamed of.

Survivors found must follow you back to safety and if so much as a potted plant gets in their way, expect them to run in place like idiots while zombies tear them to bits. Survivors will stand and needlessly fight overwhelming groups of zombies even when their backs are to an escape route, and ignore your commands entirely. However, this occasionally works in your favor, as most boss characters suffer from the same terrible AI glitches.

Your character is constantly harassed by other characters via a walkie talkie, and answering leaves you totally venerable and unable to attack, jump, or otherwise defend yourself. Ending the call prematurely will result in having to hear it again, or listen to it ring incessantly.

Furthermore, unless you have an HDTV to play it on, expect to never be able to read in-game text. The game was designed with HDTVs in mind, and playing it on a standard TV will result in text you'll need a microscope to read. Switching your 360 to Widescreen format helps a bit, but you'll still be squinting and cursing the programmers while you play.

Dead Rising still has a ton of very fun to offer in terms of re-play ability and unlockables, but I just cannot recommend it as a purchase. Rent it for a week, do what you must with it, then send it right back and wait for the sequel. Hopefully Capcom will wise up to the numerous complaints and fix some of the fun-spoiling flaws of this almost-great game.

I wanted this game for a long time, I mean seriously, killing zombies in a mall with any weapon in the mall? Now that's just awesome!!! I bought it and loved it, I got hooked in a matter of minutes and it was a lot of fun, even though a very hard game. It is worth the money!

All the negative hype is correct! PLEASE READ!

The text is terrible. I turned the game off after only about an hour of playing it. The idea behind the game is fun and exciting, but the way Capcom carried it out is pure garbage.

I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing this game USED. Even paying 25 bucks, I feel I've been ripped off and will be dumping this pos back on ebay.

The graphics are status-quo, the text is horrid. I haven't even played far enough to really get into the save issues simply because I was disappointed with the lack of freedom involved in this game. It would have been a lot more fun if this were a game like GTA where you can pick and choose which missions to complete. An even better spin would be to be bitten and to walk the path of a zombie!

I must be fair and give this game a 2, I got to one part where I was able to use a lawn mower to "mow down" like 30 zombies. That was funny but the game is still a pile of fat fertilizer.

this game is teriible the worst game i evered played. Its kinda like the movie dawn of the dead traped inside a mall and helping some people i wish i could give this zero stars but you can't this game was really boring and stupid you are picking up objects that are not really usefull this game is whack.

Like the george romero films, this game grounds it's greatness in the forbbiden pleasure of dismember anything that moves.

Luckly for us, they already dead.

The control gets some complains for some people. I say "Hey, it's a game and a little stiffness keeps it ficticious enough to prevent some moralistics to put the satan's propaganda label on it... jajajajajaja"

Cool game anyway
