Very Solid - NOT Perfect

Capcom's Dead Rising is an amazing game. Amazing in the fact there's incredible possibilities. The concept is highly original and engaging - but there's a problem! Capcom didn't "go the extra mile" if you will. Don't get the wrong idea, the game is very detailed; my only complaint relates to the game-play (or lack thereof). In a realm of endless potential (the game's concept), I feel Dead Rising could have been so much more. Regardless of my high standard, Dead Rising still ends on a solid note, and therefore, I'd suggest it's worthy of its price tag.

The graphics are first-rate, no question. The controls are a little sloppy, but when you're engaged in an environment of slaying zombies doggedly, you really can't complain. The game is challenging and frustrating at times. When you're attempting to rescue a survivor, it's almost impossible to get them back to "base" without them being ripped apart. The storyline is the wildcard. The compelling plot increases the value of the game. Not to mention, there's creative and witty humor along the way (remember the crazy clown?).

Bottom line - there's other XBox 360 titles that outshine Dead Rising. However, your system wouldn't be complete without your very own copy! You could rent Dead Rising and defeat this monster in a few days if you play 24 / 7. You'd still miss the side missions, which account for much of the game's longevity. Completing the side missions is the challenging part of Dead Rising; and it's the only way you're going to get full value from playing it. In other words - buy the damn thing.

Super funny game, I thought it was great. Lasted about 20 hours. Tons of replay value, the story keeps going and going.

OK, I know that everyone has been saying how great a game this is and how all the zombies on screen looks cool but graphics don't make everything and it certainly shows. Sure it looks cool to see a couple hundred zombies on screen, but gameplay is very shorthanded. This game could be considered a button masher. I thought I would like this game since I loved the new Dawn of the Dead movie, but this game isn't nearly as good as you may think. The sound is great and graphics are ok considering the character models look a little dated and Frank--the main character--does not move fluidly at all. Anyways, I am tired of writing about this average game and think I should just stop. If you want a great action-adventure game, pull the XBOX out of the closet and pick up Ninja Gaiden Black. That game has better graphics anyway and is more fun to play. Rent Dead Rising on a weekend when you have absolutely nothing to do. Or borrow it from a friend for free.

Zombie Cure

This game is simply a must for anyone looking to cause some mass murder with anything from CD's to cars. Many people have been complaining about the "broken" save feature. So far I have run into no problems and it appears to be pretty mucht he exact same way you save the game as in GTA, except you only get one space per save device. Not a huge drawback because I like to use only one space. The game looks great and sounds even better. It actually sounds as if you are pounding a zombie in the head with a sledgehammer.

Definately recommended.

Dawn of the Dead comes to XBOX

I appreciate zombie movies, and this game actually lets you play in one with the same effects, and zombie interaction you see in the movies that define zombies. The zombies are slow lurching at you if you get too close, but their main strength is their numbers. You can't run through the park and kill everything. There are just too many zombies in the park, you get overwhelmed, surrounded, and dead.
The save aspect sucks, and this makes fighting bosses more than just a challenge, and the main character runs...odd. BUT other than that a good all around game.
If your into zombies, you will love this game, and if zombies aren't your thing, you will still like the replayability of the game.

Seriously Flawed For Non-HDTV Owners

The text in this game is so small that it makes the game almost unplayable on an SDTV.

Awsome zombie game, but not perfect

I have to say that this is one of the best zombie games that I've ever played. Like most games on the 360, you'll only be able to notice the amazing graphics if you have an hdtv. If you play the game on a standard tv, the graphics look mediocre at best. The storyline is awsome and theres plenty of zombies to kill. Although, one of the things that I didn't like about the game was that it was pretty difficult and theres no difficulty setting to make the game any easier. I also didn't like the text on the bottom of the screen during the cut scenes, they really didn't need to put them there. All and all this is a must have for any fan of zombies.

This was the greatest game I had ever played... for the first 90 minutes. After having to restart over and over again just to build up my character enough to not die, it quickly lost appeal. It went from being a fun game to being tedious, after so long it turned into a chore. It still sits in the bottom of my game drawer, unfinished, and I doubt it ever will be.

Not gonna write a full review, 'cuz you already have 148 of those. Just my $ .02...

Put simply, this game is brilliant. Its gameplay is in line with classic non-stop action games, and it has a revamped old-school feel that we haven't really seen except in Ninja Gaiden (though this plays nothing like Ninja Gaiden.) While the basic gameplay always comes back to "kill zombies, progress through story, repeat," this formula has enough variations to maintain intensity throughout.

What it all comes down to is this: This past winter, my whole dorm was snowed in for a few days. We killed most of that time taking turns playing Dead Rising. It's playable. If you're actually reading this to decide whether or not to buy it, just do it. it's well worth the $30 used you can have it for now.

ZOMBIES!!!

DeadRising isn't the best game on the 360 but it sure is one of the funnest. There are lots of weopons that you can use to protect yourself from Zombies like chainsaws, guns, baseball bats, chairs, cars, motorcycles, and way more. I would have given this game a 5 out of 5 but there some things I hate like really hard boss battles. The boss battles are so hard to beat you'll have to try getting all guns in your inventory to defeat them. I also hate it when you try to look at the letters on the screen but they're so small unless you have an HD-TV. It's so hard to get the true ending of the game because you have so little time to do it. I think DeadRising is the best Zombie game since Resident Evil 2.
