We already had DDR Supernova 2 and the Disney one, and have done it so much we needed another one to have some fresh stuff. We have loved this as much as the others. It's a great workout, even on the lower settings!
So much fun!

I just took up DDR, and this is the first game I got. DDR Max has a lot of great songs that are really fun to play! It also has a lesson mode which is really great for first time users like me. It really helped me learn how to play.
It also has a workout mode where you can just keep playing songs continuously. It also doesn't matter how much you mess up on them, it just keeps going! Great for getting in shape and not getting frustrated!
Overall, this game is a lot of fun!

DDRMax 2 is part of the Dance Dance Revolution series. For those new to the DDR series, you play by dancing around on a mat, hitting the buttons with your feet. It is quite a workout, and quite fun too!
The songs start out with easy footwork and build their way up to almost impossible. Along the way you build up energy, leg muscles, and burn off calories. They do even have a workout mode where you can track it - but I enjoy just diving into the game. You find yourself playing long after your legs are tired because it's so much fun.
While you can think about the videos that play being the music, really all you see when you're dancing is the stream of arrows that you're supposed to be following. I've found that while graphics vary from game to game, all I really care about is what songs are included.
This set is a mixed bag for me. Some of the DDR games have no songs at all I really enjoy. This one has a few. Now it's important to keep in mind that a song list preference is VERY personal! You might hate the songs I love. You might love the songs I hate! So it's key not to go by what I (or anyone else) says about a given song list. It's important that you look at the actual song list and choose a DDR game that matches your preferences well.
So that being said, there are perhaps 5 or 6 songs in this set that I enjoy. But the footwork on some of them is REALLY cool and I enjoy them a lot. So to me it's well worth it to have the game and play with those. Heck, think of it as having a CD that you love a bunch of songs on. Sure, you like other songs too - and you have other CDs.

I love to dance! Fun game, gets you moving, and possibly annoy your downstairs neighbors (oops) :) The music is great, and the different level/game options are perfect. Fun with friends!
DDR is a blast.

DDR Max 2 is fabulous. This game has a good selection of high energy music...from all different artists and styles. Obviously the skill levels can be changed, so every player can play at there own pace. I haven't had any qualms with this product. I have the greatest time "dancing" with family and friends. Highly recommended!!!
Fun but the songs are ...

This game is SO FUN! GREAT way to WORK-OUT too! It may just be my taste in music but I found about 60% of the songs unenjoyable to dance/play to. I like the digital dancers in the back ground though :D

DDR Max 2, in my opinion, if the best of the American releases. There are many old favorites here and some decent new additions. All in all, a lot nicer than the newer releases with their popular music. If that's your style, get a newer game, but if you want an arcade experience do yourseld a favor and make the effort to track down a copy of DDR Max 2.
I know a lot of people use this as an exercise program and a lot of companies market it the same way. In their defense, this game can be intense. I was out of practice and after getting back into it I was beat just after a few songs. Made me realize that this game certainly provides a workout without you even realizing you're expending the effort.
The songs make the game.

This is probably one of the funnest games I've ever played. I didn't come directly into playing it because I dislike the idea of sweating profusely in an arcade and stinking wherever I went after that.
At home, it's a different story. Even though this game is old, the trance songs(and dance songs) in this game are of the top from that time.
Love at First Sight -Kylie Minogue
Heaven - DJ Sammy
Take Me Away - 4 Strings
Days Go By - Dirty Vegas
And many other dance and j-pop songs.
If there is a newer version, you might want to go for it. But, when I did my search for a DDR game, this one seemed to have the most, best, and latest songs.
Also, get a durable pad. They don't last very long.
Exactly what I expect!

Max2 is such a fun game, it gets tedious trying to get every song that I want and the fact that it has to restart everytime you finish three songs or so, but the song selection is great and there isn't a level I don't enjoy.
How do I stop Amazon from bothering me all the time?
