I've played every song except the unlockables and I must say.. very disappointing.. this is geared waay too far towards newbies. I thought that DDRMAX1 was filled with too many slow songs.. They sure showed me. Although this major disappointment for myself, I must put into perspective how newbies feel. I would guess that they like this one alot because, from the start, the majority of the songs are of one difficulty(easy) and one speed(slow..but not super amazingly slow [*cough*Remember You*cough*] <- that comment is for the people who have played DDRMAX1). And, seeing how in America, the number of experienced players/players that can pass and enjoy fast songs compared to the number that can't... Great game!

On a second note.. I think Konami spent too much time trying to make this different from DDRMAX1 and not enough on song selection. I hope they start releasing different versions faster than this.. And in the future, I hope they focus more on good songs..

On a third note.. Who gave them the idea that using American songs was better than Japanese songs??!! American Pop/Rock/70's songs ARE NOT I repeat ARE NOT made for this game.. They are for freestyling on a dance floor.

Once again, great game.................................

one of the better games.

This game is amazingly fun and addicting. I started playing 2 or so years ago, and i'm still playing it. It will only take you a couple of weeks to reach Heavy Mode and maybe a month or 2 before you can beat MaxX UNLIMITED.
To play this game, you step on the arrows on the dance pad corresponding to the arrows scrooling up the screen. Some songs are exceptionally fast (320 BPM: MaxX UNLIMITED), others are really slow (140 BPM: So Deep). The fast ones may seem impossible to read at first, but after some time, it'll be easier to read than a picture book.
Personally, the hard songs are really easy over time. Believe it or not, i have "AAA"ed MAX 300, MaxX UNLIMITED, and The legend of MAX, and im one of the best players in Ohio.
And by the way, if you go to buy the Japanese version of MAX2 or Extreme, have fun with PARANOiA Survivor MAX (Hardest song in DDR history) ;)

Best New DDR Games EVER!

I play DDR alot, and this one is one of the greatest! Even though with all the old DDRs, if you own one of those, get another! This game has more songs, and also lots of fun. This game doesnt take long to unlock all the songs to play with everyone!

The DDR songs that they pick is a good about a minute and a half or something like that. Of course, you may know some songs such as (i think i got the names right)

Let's Get Down Tonight
Twlight Zone
Days go By

And there is many more songs, to play and enjoy, and 4 (not including CHALLENGE mode) different song levels, and once you get to the top (HEAVY mode) you can alter it around. You can make the notes suddenly disappear near the top. Or you can make the appear in the top. You can make the top arrows disappear. And you can also make the arrows go down. There is also speed variations for slow songs, such as Keep On Liftin'. Overall, GREAT GAME!

What DDR Is
DDR is a very active video game. You do not sit around with a controller tapping buttons with your fingers, however, you stand up, jumping like crazy and steping on arrows with your feet. It is very entertaining, and good exersise too. You need a special dance mat to play correctly. Once you pick a song you wish to play, moving arrows come up on your screen. Once the arrow corrosponds with the stationary arrow, you simply step on the same directional arrow on the dance mat. That is basicly what you do in DDR to complete songs. Completing songs will unlock new songs for you to play and master.

My Opinions and Advise
I've played DDR, DDR Konamix, DDRMAX, DDRMAX2, and in arcades, DDR Extreme. In my opinion, I think DDRMAX is the best out of all of them. Its improved since konamix. It's got a great song selection, and even quite a few american songs. Anybody who is wondering which DDR to buy, you should definatly go with DDRMAX. DDRMAX2, however, was a little disappointing to me. It does not have a very great song selection (unless you like the 80's), and was not a big step from DDRMAX, (they're very similair).

More options then max and better songs then extreme,

I bought this for my 10 year old son. It has turned into a family favorite. Often, attracted by the familiar music, an uninitiated adult will drift toward the game to give it a try; often with funny results. It is a lot of fun and offers challenges for the nimble (my kids) and the less nimble like myself.

AWESOME!!!

when i first heard about this game i was like 'wut could be stupider', but my cousin got it so i decided to play it to see how stupid it was. I was immediately addicted and bought the game a few days later. This is one of the best games ever made, if you're bored of sittin on the couch playin endless shoot-em-ups. Buy this game and get on the dance floor! This is the only game i play and i can do ever song on heavy:) (except maxx unlimited of course). So all i have to say is BUYTHIS GAME NOW

This game is fun, addicting, and healthy for you! DDR Max 2 is well worth its price. Although most of the songs in it are not all that common, the music selection is still pretty good and I would recomend this game for any beginners in the world of DDR.

It teaches you the basics and also allows you to choose harder options for those of whom are already hooked to the arcade version.

I've had a lot of fun with this one. Great music. The "light" mode has a few songs that I don't consider too "light," and the setup can be a little annoying (specifically, turning characters on or off). Also, too many screens at the beginning and end (I don't need to see the credits every time I finish a game!). But you can stomp through them pretty quickly and get to the gameplay. If you find a similarly rated game for cheaper, buy it. I couldn't, so I got this one, and I'm pretty happy.
