Parasite Eve's success matches the Movie

Believe it or not, the game "Parasite Eve" owes muchof its success to its origins, a Japanese movie. In Japan, there isalways a fascination for the extreme involving much Medical as Sci-Fi knowledge. Throw in horror and you've got a mega-blockbuster that is just ripe for the game companies to pick up.

The movie is the prime beginning. A Japanese doctor is toiling at the roots of human evolution, tracing it back to one woman in Africa, dubbed "Mitochondria Eve". The premise is that Mitochondria provided the human being with enough energy to grow and become the complex beings we are. Instead of being malignant, the Mitochondria became assimilated and helped humans to evolve.

His wife, married for a year, starts to act strange. Upon her death, her liver is removed but the doctors removing them notice that her body is incredibly hot.(Notice something?) The liver is then implanted into a young girl who needs the transplant but then her body starts to react against it.

It is a VERY good movie,(its available on several Asian Online stores...). The Game takes place 5 years after the events in Japan and the researcher, Maeda, looks exactly like the Doctor. END

Way too corny, no replay value, too repetitive, too easy.

Okay, so the graphics were really neat. Other than that, this game was barely worthwhile. I like corny storylines, but this one was way too corny. And I found myself having to seek out and beat the same idiotic baddies over and over again to get enough points to go to the next level, which was tedious. You also have to comb the same scenes over and over again to make sure you picked up all of the invisible weapon upgrades. But it wasn't challenging at all. Just redundant redundant. The background sounds were annoying and the dialouge was silly. I don't know why I bothered to beat this game. Now that I have, I don't have any reason to beat it again. I've seen all it has to offer, too many times!

This game is beatable which makes it a great game to have. Unlike Final Fantasy VII which is impossible to beat. This game has great graphics and your not gonna get lost in the middle of some desert map like in other RPG's.

This is an action packed game that keeps you on the edge of your seat. You get plenty of guns, graphics, horror, and it is made by the masters of RPG who brought you Final Fantasy. It is about a HOT girl who goes to the opra. Everybody bursts into flames except her. Mellisa (the opra singer) transforms into Eve.Eve is a creature that is set on killig everybody. This game has real sounds, cool graphics, and is very fun. It was also on the best sellers list.

ParasiteEve is an awsome game. The graphics are prety good. I really liked the mitochondria thing. I thought that it made the plot more interesting. Once I read a letter in a videogame magizine that was about this guy that had a big microbiology exam the next day and insted of studying he played PE and he got 102% on his test, which proves that all that mumbo-jumbo about mitochondria is fact not fiction. I think that overall Parasite Eve is one of square's best games besides FFVII.

As I stated in the title, this is an excellent game. There are many reasons for this.

1) The story line is terrific. Like most Squaresoft games, the story line will keep you involved, ensuring loss of sleep from not wanting to stop.

2) The graphics are amazing. The CG sequences will leave you breathless, even the graphics in the regular gameplay will make your jaw drop in pure awe.

3) The musical score suits the mood of the game perfectly. They have beautiful classical pieces as well as their own original, techno/instrumentals.

The game does have one major downfall, the controls. The way the camera moves around, the control changes quite often. Aside from the play controls, pretty much everything else is perfect. The occasional slow load time will kick in, but that's about it.

This is a game that RPG fans will love. But many gamers who are into games with great story lines or awesome CG sequences will love this game as well. Parasite Eve is one of the best PSX games to ever hit store shelves. Happy gaming.

this game is a great game. the graphics the storyline are all so wonderful. it really is a fun game. i haven't beat the game yet because it freezes up in one part which really stinks. it's my friends game thank goodness. i need to buy this game and so do the rest of the people who look at this review. the music is also really good. don't waist time and buy it NOW!!!

... but a tiny bit complicated. That was the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. When I first opened the package and got to the first boss, that was pretty easy, but as the game progressed, the bosses (not to mention... the puzzles) got more interesting but hard. I mean... when I first saw the giant spider and the Ultimate Human Being, I was intrigued and terrified all at once. If I encountered either one of these things in real life, I would RUN away! But after a few times dying and coming close to dying, I finally got both of them! I was so proud! And, I swear, the only reason I finished that game was because of the super-helpful strategy guide. So, if you're considering buying this game, I'd say go for it, but buy the guide, too.

This game seems to have the same gaming engine as Resident Evil. All the movie clips that come on are really kool. The game play is smooth and rich along with some nice graphics. If you have played R.E. then you will be comfortable with this games controls.

Overall the game is a bit on the easy side, especially since I don't finish games too often and once you finish it you may not actually go back to it. I know I have not. Since the release of part 2 this one has dropped in price so would encourage someone to purchase it. I give it 4 stars because it really is not a bad game I just found it a little easy. I thought Resident Evil was much harder.

When I bought this game, I was expecting something totally different, something along the lines of Resident Evil but it was totally the opposite. The story line was so interesting that I couldn't stop playing it. The battles are great, but just like any RPG game there are some enemies that will frustrate you.
The graphics and sound are great especially for a Playstation One game. Bottom line...if you want an RPG game that doesn't involve the usual fantasy world with a mystical hero who saves all then this game is perfect.
Even though the game is a little short, it will continue to keep you in suspense till the very end.
