Great game!

With an interesting and unique story line and awesome graphics, Parasite Eve is a game that lives up to its expectations. Game play is relatively simple which makes it user-friendly. There are ample opportunities to save, pick up ammo, medicine and other useful items such as armor and weapons throughout the game. Also, as an added bonus, you dont have to search every single area of every room on the off chance that you'll find something useful. All items are stored in storage chests which are simple to spot and as a result, saves you a huge amount of time and effort. This game is challenging, yet simple enough to actually enjoy. There is nothing worse than a game that tries to be challenging and only suceeds in being frustrating. Parasite eve is worth purchasing, especially now that the prices are low. Once you solve the two discs, there is another building to explore and after you finish that...well, theres always Parasite Eve II to start on. Anyone that enjoys the Resident Evil series or similar games will want this for their own.

Wish I coulda' given it more stars...

Don't get me wrong this game is great. But I think Squaresoft should have spent a little more time on certain elements of the game. But first I will tell you about the good points of the game. The graphics are the best I have ever seen. The story line is great. And the battle system is very well invented. Now the bad points. The music [is not good], the length of the game is ridiculous, and the last boss is two easy. But if you are a person that is just starting out in the RPG genre, then this is the game for you.....

This game is great. Aya rocks. A woman with a gun is always dangerous. Moving Aya is a bit bothersome but manageable. The graphics are really good and the story, though confusing at the beginning, is extremely interesting. It is a great game to play.

this is a great game, no doubt about it. It has a little something for everyone (hot chick, wicked monsters, big guns...etc). This game also has a good storyline and some cool characters. The only thing I didn't like is that the game is so short and its not very complicated. This game should take you a maximum of 2 weeks to finish (based on a few hours of game play each day). But if you beat the game, a special expert mode is available in this game which is a little more challenging, and there is even some new places you can go that aren't available in the regular mode. I really enjoyed this game and I think you will too. Besides the game is cheap so buy it while you still can!

Square began to experement with cinema style RPGs with Parasite Eve, based upon the book of the same name. As far as I am aware it seems that this game is a sequel of sorts to that novel, and alothough I do not believe the novel has been translated to English there is a movie based upon it that has been released state side by ADV films. The film is subtitled and not very good but does help to add more depth to the "universe" of Parasite Eve.
I won't write much about the story, it is sufficent to say that the story is the driving force of this game which is a lot of fun, but like with other "experimental games" not without its flaws.
The first flaw that this game has is that is controls seem a bit un responsive, and Aya moves very stifly. This game could have benifited from the motion capture techneques that were later used on Final Fantasy VIII. The next flaw is that the random encounters simmer down and eventually stop. You can "wip out" all enimes in a particular area making it hard to level up to riduculous levels of speed an power. Random encounters are a pain as it is, but if you're going to have them let me have enough of them to get up to level 99 and wipe the floor with the end guy.
However the weapon mods are interesting, the overall gamplay is very innovative and over all this game was great. It is just a shame it was so short and impossible to make Aya an all powerful unstopable juggarnaut like you can with other RPGs.

I think that Parasite Eve is a highly underrated game that is a lot of fun for me to play. One aspect of the game that keeps me playing is the exciting and sometimes disturbing plot twists intertwined in the game, and how Aya Brea is tied to the horror that she is facing. The graphics are certainly outdated, but that doesn't really bother me. The boss battles are very challenging, and the backgrounds in the game look great for a Playstation title. I highly recommend this game to anyone who owns a Playstation or PS2 and loves exciting adventure/horror games in their library of games. Five stars!

Other than some control issues, this game rocks! I really had a great time battling all the different creatures in the game, especially the boss monsters. It's one of the few games that I really enjoyed making!

Parasite Eve is about a 25 year old female cop that has been overcomed by a special power,which is called Parasite Eve.It all starts out when Aya Brea,the rookie cop,is on a date with a guy she doesn't even like at the Carnegie Hall Opera.At the opera,she is watching a show with the actress,Melissa/Eve.She looks through Aya's spirit and sees her special power,and awakens it.Then Eve,with her own power,burns the opera and kills everyone.Only Aya,her date,and Eve survive.Aya tells him to get the (beep) outta here.Then you have to fight Eve with a pistol vs.magic fight.That was the beginning I just told you.I won't tell you anymore.The Special Powers that Aya has are:energy shot,gene heal,cure #1,#2,and #3,antidote,life scan,confusion,and liberate.Energy Shot is a beam,just like the ones in DragonBall Z,Gene Heal cures 3 HP every time you attack.Cure 1,2,and 3 cure 50,100,or 300 HP.Antidote cures poison,and confusion confuses enemies,and Liberate makes Aya go on Fire and then turn to an angel like monster.The boss of this whole game is Eve's son,Then,beat the game again,and you fight Aya's 8 year old twin sister who does every thing that Aya does,even liberate!I beat this 8 times but it gets kinda of harder if you make new games.I think you should get this because it is scary on how every animal turns to a monster.It is kind of like Resident Evil.From Spngbbfan02.

If you are a fan of both survival horror/adventure and Role Playing, then pick up a copy of this interesting video game. If not, don't even bother. It's a fantastic experience that almost everyone can enjoy.
