Finally! An awesome game on the Wii aside form "Twilight Princess"

I've never played a single minute of the resident evil series prior to my experience with the "Wii Edition" of RE4, so my comments can be taken with this in mind...

I'm not too far into the game yet, but so far I feel that these little blurbs can fairly describe the game:

- impressive graphics for the Wii
- very suspenseful, intense, and *engaging* gameplay
- gameplay using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk is very intuitive and effective
- interesting story
- gameplay on even 'standard' difficulty is challenging (I feel that I won't blow through this game quickly)
- let's be honest...the price point is pretty nice.

In summation, I've been getting a little worried about my Wii...I have some other games aside from the most recent Zelda title, but once I finished "Twilight Princess," I pretty much switched over to my xbox 360 and let the Wii alone. I'm very happy that another (in my opinion) "must-have" title has been released for the Wii. Now if only Manhunt 2 can get released soon--I'll be in "mature gamer" heaven!

Fun

At first, I was frustrated with this game. The controls seemed limiting especially considering how I thought this game to be a straight 1st person shooter. But the action definitely came through later and the controls were perfect once you figured them out. The reason this game is soo successful is because its basically a movie and you're the main character. Its a lot of fun, a lot of action, and an exciting world.

I was a first time RE4 player. In fact, I hadn't played any of the RE series since the first game way back on the PS1. The reason was the horrible controls. I had heard alot of good buzz about RE4 when it was on the Gamecube, but I never bothered. When it came out on the Wii, I finally gave in. I am glad I did. This game is fun. Very solid, and once of my favorites on the Wii so far. I love it that Nintendo is embracing not only light hearted games like Raving Rabids, but also gritty, dark games, like RE4. The controls work excellent and you will become proficient rather quickly. I can't imagine playing this game any other way, but if you insist on using the old control scheme, you can plug in your old Gamecube controller and use that. I have yet to beat the game and look forward to playing it through again once I beat it. GET THIS GAME!

Most of you are probably familiar with RE. That's what this is... but with a duck-hunt style pointer for shooting. It takes getting used to but when you learn it, it's completely intuitive and hard to imagine playing the game without. Accuracy actually counts in this version of RE, and in my opinion that makes it infinitely better. Many people will be way too lazy to take the 10 mins to learn it though because it's difficult at first.

I have played the PS2 and Gamecube versions, in fact I bought the gamecube version like a month before the Wii version came not knowing it was going to the new console. I picked up the Wii version the day of and I must say this game is perfect for the Wii. By far the best version of the game. It appears to look slightly better than the gamecube version. The Wii controls are the perfect addition to this already masterpiece of a game. Even if you have played other version and you own a Wii, at least rent this version just to see the difference. I cant say enough good things about the game in general but especially this new port :-). I haven't played any other Resident Evil games simply because I don't really like games with prerendered enviornments and fixed camera angles. RE4 is in full 3d so I was intrigued cause I am such a horror movie buff. If you own a Wii you should get this game and you will not regret it. The new controls give you the precision aim this game needs.

A great remake of a really great game. The Wii controls really add a nice touch to aiming and shootings and feels more natural than aiming with a control stick. Not to mention it has the PS2 version's bonus features. Overall an amazing game for a good price^^.

Best port I've ever seen

This is by far one of my most favorite games on the gamecube, once they came out with the ps2 version i was annoyed that they had extra stuff. so when the wii version was announced that had all the ps2 extras and better graphics i was all too excited, had it pre-ordered and waited patiently then the day finally came when i could play it. i have already beaten everything all over again and i have to say that this is by far the best version of RE4 hands down..

Best Game For The Wii Yet

It took a little bit to get used to the new controls having beaten the Gamecube version earlier, but after a few minutes I was delighted that I decided to play the game over on the Wii. Aiming and shooting just works *really* well and I've never done quite so well in the mini games. All the bonus content from the PS2 version is also included so that's very nice as well!

I didn't really find any down-side to this version and I must say it is by far the smoothest and most fun... and that's saying something!

As with the GameCube version this is one of the best. Not much of an improve on graphics (except for progressive scan added) but it still holds strong on the fun factor! With all the extra unlocks(like the PS2 version) and a preview of "Umbrella Chronicles" it's great! The new controls make shooting as precise as it gets. If you have a Wii and you like the series this is a must have!

This game has it all. Great graphics, sound and best of all, gameplay. This time, with the Wiimote, the game is a bit easier since it's very responsive. Loved it the first time with the Gamecube and now it's even better. I recommend it, even if you played it in a previous system. Worth every penny.
