Without a doubt, RE4 is the best game available for the Wii. The virtual console games are great too but for Wii titles, RE4 is the best of them all.

Absolutely enthralling!

One of the finest games ever created.

The Resident Evil game series has a vast following of die-hard gamers who are always ready to blast some bad guys (or zombies). This is my favorite game in the series and it is an important release as the first game in the series to move to an interactive 3D background. Previous release featured consecutive pre-rendered screens.

The story is excellent and is enhanced nicely by the atmospheric music. Expect a few screams as enemies jump out to put the hurt on you.

There is no appreciable difference between this version and the Gamecube version where graphics are concerned. However, this version includes all the extra missions from both the PS2 and Gamecube versions.

Now for the MAJOR addition!!! This game has full Wii-mote controller functionality. Blasting bad guys has never been easier or more fun. I cannot overstate this. Playing Resident Evil 4 on the Wii is just a vastly more entertaining experience than the other versions. I consider RE4 to be one of the greatest games ever made and this is the best version of the bunch. If you're even thinking about it you're wasting valuable time; BUY THE GAME!!

One of the best games I've ever played on anything

I got a wii as a present, and after the novelty of wii play had worn off I was looking to play a good first-person-shooter type game. Sadly, all the games that were out at the time were terrible, and were poorer cousins to games released on other consoles, and quickly rushed over to wii without any thought for wii controls - and certainly very little beta testing. I had read alot of reviews about how RE4 was a classic when it first came out, and that the added wii functionality had improved the game. So when I found out it only cost 30 bucks I jumped. I can honestly say this is one of the best games I have ever played on anything. Sure, the graphics look rather dated compared with the latest Halo releases, but you're never going to get that on a wii anyway so it's a redundant argument. Nonetheless, I still think the graphics are pretty cool. Further, one of the biggest disappointments for me is to get a new game, to find it looks amazing, but plays like rubbish. So however a game looks, the "playability" factor is huge for me, and this game is just off the charts in that area. It mixes action with some (relatively simple) puzzle solving, and a nice story to follow along with just for good measure. Some people are not so hot on the new wii controls, but I loved using the new wii controller for aiming and the nunchuk for moving the main character. Special movements and button combos are also thrown in to keep you on your toes and involve you more in the game - this is a feature that I hope will be extended in the next chapter. There's also a nice touch where in segments of the game you have to control two characters and have them help one another. I completed the game in about 20-25 hours so it's not huge, but completing it opens up a hidden level of difficulty, so you can play the game again in a more challenging fashion. Completing the game also opens up the opportunity to play a smaller game as one of the female characters who appears in the main game. Adding to the playability is the amazing sound, and atmospheric effects which accompany the game - late at night in an old apt building, the whole thing was kind of freaky. I never got into the original RE games but you can be sure that as long as I see good reviews for the new game (a trailer is featured on RE4), I will get back to slaughtering zombies. The only thing missing was a two player mode.

Great fun for the Wii!!!

I don't have too many titles for the Wii yet, and I'm not an avid Resident Evil fan, but after reading reviews for this title, I decided to give it a shot. This game was thoroughly enjoyable - the best game I've played on the Wii so far. I think the plot is really hokey, but the gameplay more than makes up for it.

A couple reviews I read complained about difficult controls, but I thought the Wii controls were much easier to use than the previous RE titles I played on GameCube. I felt the remote control targeting made the game more immersive than the dual analog controllers. The RE4 controls really make me look forward to other first-person games like Metroid, etc. that I haven't played yet.

I thought the enemies and puzzles were reasonably challenging and my resources were stretched pretty thin at times, but nothing was impossibly difficult. Collecting money and treasures to buy/improve weapons was a nice upgrade over previous RE titles I played as well. I completed the game without the aid of an on-line walkthrough guide, so I'm sure I missed some things, but that helps to improve the game's replay value.

Speaking of replay value, the first thing I did after finishing the game was start another. The bonus missions are enjoyable, and it's pretty cool that things change up a little for the replay. That part was well done.

My only minor complaint is that some of the scenes are so dark it's difficult to pick out any detail, especially if there is any glare at all on the screen. It's a good thing maps are available and automatic actions pop up when they need to.

This is a great title. I'm excited to see what Umbrella Chronicles can bring to the table next.

Great Game! With Great Bouns Games!

This game is awesome! Especially for the price! Once you beat the game there are bonus games that are really fun. The Seperate Ways bonus game is about 5 hours! And you can replay all the games over and over gaining skill levels unlocking caracters and weapon. The graphics are good, the controls are easy to master. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Keeps you into the game until the end

This is the first resident evil game I have played and enjoyed it tremendously. I enjoyed the interaction with the Wii system, it makes it much more entertaining than other game systems I have played. Would definately recommend this game to anyone.

I'm not much of a gamer, since the last system I owned was the original NES, but after grabbing a wii and getting back into the speed of things, I'm really glad I grabbed this. Having already been a fan of zombie movies and horror in general, this game really hit the spot. It's actually terrifying at times, and rather gruesome, but challenging and interesting amidst all the blood and guts. I know it's been around for a while, but as a newcomer to the current gaming world, it was definitely a worthwhile purchase for me.
