Decent But Quick To Annoy

This game is so hard that it didn't take too long before I got annoyed with the controls. There are too many zombies too fast. I guess I will have to keep practicing. In the mean time, RESERVE UMBRELLA CHRONICLES instead. That game actually allows you to use the controller like a gun instead of worrying about facing the right direction.
Graphically magnificent, but not fun at all.

This game is the second worst game I've ever played (first goes to Dead to Rights, XBox), at least when it comes to the actual playing. The graphics and visuals are top-notch for a Wii game, the storyline is good and the hypothetical mechanics are alluring. The controls, however, absolutely destroy the gameplay. As a developer, the mistakes made in designing this game are, simply put, stupid.
First, there's movement. A geriatric in an electric wheelchair can outrun a jogging Leon. He's none too nimble, either, as there is no way of dodging anything coming at you. He's also slow to action with ladders and such. The game gets ridiculously annoying when you have to babysit the President's daughter.
Secondly, the weapon execution is atrocious. No matter how much you upgrade a bullet or shell based weapon, it will always be a pea shooter. You will waste half of the whole level's ammunition supply on a lowly grunt's face. This trouble is magnified when they introduce a regenerating zombie that kills you the second it attacks. "Oh, but you have to conserve resources!" Well, you can't knife them because they will hit you whether they're in the proper animation frames or not. How could a bug like this slip by in a commercial game? I guess the game has enough understanding fanboys for it not to matter.
It is also worth noting that no matter how much you conserve your resources, you will still run out (of everything, not just ammo) when you get to the bosses. You also can't buy any ammunition (this is one of the stupidest ideas used in a game yet). But that's not all!
I've read walkthroughs because I've yet to legitimately get through the game - I know, the shame - and they mention that certain weapons are excessively powerful, such as the magnums and the RPGs. While the RPG works great on grunts, it's worthless on bosses. The magnums are worthless on everything. There also appear to be hitbox problems that conveniently prevent full connects from these allegedly powerful weapons.
All in all I really wanted to like this game. I thought mixing ingredients to produce better health items was neat and I'm all for blowing heads off with shotguns, but it became less fun and more chore as the game progressed. I'm hoping I just got a bad build of the game. As of now, I even prefer Red Steel over this game.

Without a doubt the finest survival game to grace any console ever RE4 for the GCN and later PS2 took the series to a new level. The controls which were decent for the old versions have been revamped to take advantage of the WiiMote and the nunchuck attachment. Together (as the control stick controls your view, while the WiiMote controls your aim)they feel like a sort of Dual Stick set up except more intuitive and easier to use than the traditional Cstick method. There is a little weirdness as I somtimes do a 180 on accident while holding the RUN button (Z) too often, but reloading is actually fun with this setup. I am finding the game alot more fun and satisfying with the Wii controls all the great moments are still there (including the new Ada W. missions:) I just have more health and ammo with which to enjoy them. This game is a loveletter to gamers especially fans of the horror-survival genre, and to miss out on this version is to deprive your Wii of the best title yet available. A trigger (or knife) happy splatter fest, RE4 puts you in the middle of the action, and as nasty as it is its a hard place to leave. MUST OWN thanks for the low retail CAPOCOM (you knew we'd buy it twice)

If you haven't played it before then you must play it, especially at that price and it will give you a reason to dust off your wii.

Though I have never played a Resident Evil game I give this version a big thumbs up. Obviously the graphics aren't going to be outstanding, but they really end up looking pretty darn good. The controls are really good. However the camera angle can get a little squirrelly on occasion. The price is right. Buy it today.
Great Game!

This game creates a hugely enthralling horror atmosphere, and blasting zombies with the wii remote is great fun!

It's a fun scary game, when the zombies attack. There are many weapons to chose from. There's a rocket lancher for your picking. The game is longer than you expect it, but I like it. Keep your eyes out for enemies and treasure. The towns are creepy(begining).Beware that enemies come out of nowhere.
WOW!! Much better than other versions.

This is the best RE4 version that has been made. It has all of the content from PS2 version, but what makes it the best is the motion controls. Using the contrroller as a knife and aiming your controller like a gun. This game is a must buy for Wii owners.

Although this game has been made for other systems a year ago, the Wii controls have made this game so much more fun than before. With its lower price, this is a game that you should try if you haven't played it before.
