This Was my very first wii game and I Loved it. I just got done with the final boss and my adrenaline was pumping, Yes it is the same game you have probably played but it still has the same ammount of thrills and chills as any other version. I started out and within ten minutetes i was playing like a pro, I was capping the genados left and right. And i couldn't put it down until i beat it.

It is much more fun on this version.

Capcom pulled a fast one!

I was very dissapointed with the Wii version of this game. While the control scheme has definitely enhanced the gameplay experience, the game looks terrible on an HDTV. Many gaming websites are claiming that RE4 supports native widescreen. This is not true at all!! Capcom apparently decided to pull a fast one by "zooming" in on the original GameCube port and upscaling the image, thus removing the black bars! It looks absolutely terrible. The game looks better if I first convert my Wii widescreen settings to 4:3 and then using my TV's zoom feature. I felt Capcom pulled a fast one on the consumer and as a result I feel ripped off.

Overall a good game

This is overall a good game...great game for only $30. What absolutely drives me up the wall is the lack of strafing movement. Means you can't creep around a corner. Also you can't shoot while moving. Other than that the game is pretty good.

If you love resident evil or even if you've never played resident evil before buy theis game!!!

This game was amazing from the start. I love it and so will you! This review is on the wiimote with nunchuk gameplay. This game has great graphics and is way more fun than the original ps2 and gamecube versions. Its simple to aim and shoot all you do is point at your enemies and blast em! The controls and mechanics in the game run super smooth. Also to give your enemies a quick swipe with your knife just swing the wiimote in any direction. Please enjoy.

The GC Masterpiece makes a Bargin-Bin Wii Comeback

At only $30, this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who missed out on one of the best experiences of the Gamecube/Playstation 2. But even better, at $30 this is still a bargin for those of us who have already played and beaten the crap out of it.

For those who are unfamiliar, in Resident Evil 4 you are Leon S. Kennedy, a man sent on a mission to retrieve the president's kidnapped daughter. The storyline is kind of corney, but it works.

The storyline is fairly irrelevent though, since the creepy atmosphere and intense gameplay more than make up for the corny storyline.

But perhaps best of all are the controls. The GC/PS2 version's controls were tight and easy to use. But with the Wii remote as a pointing device, the controls just got much better. Simply pointing at whatever you want to die is far easier and more satisfying than trying to grapple with innacurate analogue sticks.

RE4 is well-paced and challenging. Once you think you're safe, the game throws more chainsaw-wielding madmen at you. And before you even grow tired of your surroundings, the game mixes it up with a creepy village, a cult-driven castle, and a military base, all with unique enemies and challenges and hidden treasures and upgradable weapons and intense boss fights and...

Well you get the point. The game was phenomenal on Gamecube, was still phenomenal on Playstation 2, and now it's gotten even better with pin-point accurate Wii controls. Highly recommended.

So nice I bought it twice!

I didn't think adding the Wii controls to this already amazing game could really do all that much. I was wrong.

It took about five minutes to get used to the new control scheme. Now I can't imagine going back.

A drawback to the new controls? The only thing I can think is that I'm a bit less conservative with the ammo. With the original Gamecube controls, there was more stop, aim, realize I didn't aim quick enough, run, stop, turn, aim, and shoot. With pinpoint accuracy using the Wiimote, it was stop, aim, explode head, explode head, etc.
Also, as I've stated in past reviews, being able to play a Wiimote/nunchuk game left-handed is especially important. Fortunately, there's absolutely no problem making the switch.

There's a ton of extras brought over from the PS2 port, including true widescreen presentation.

Think of it as everything good from both the GC and PS2, with the joyous addition of Wii controls.

If you've played this on another system, or if you've never played it before, this is definitely a title you should pick up.

Excellent Wii Release for Easier Gameplay

I originally owned Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube and I was frustrated with the cumbersome sights and aiming mechanism and poor reaction time limited by the controller. Enter the Nintendo Wii remote.

Obviously you're allowed to aim with the Wii remote as the ubiquitous laser sight is replaced with an ever-present cross hair. This allows for considerably better accuracy and reaction time. My first time through my accuracy was around 75% (I know, I'm a terrible person) and my reaction time was pitiful. With the Wii edition my accuracy went up to 90% and better reaction time. The downside is the cross hair is always there and can be slightly annoying; I think the laser sighting would've been more appropriate and only present when aiming. Another downside is you cannot aim scoped weapons (rifles and launchers) with the Wii remote, but with the nunchuck. It might be better to have allowed aiming with the Wii remote similar to Call of Duty 3 but that's my preference.

Pertaining to the gameplay and graphics they're almost no different than the PSXII or Gamecube version; if there is a difference I certainly didn't notice it. Don't let this deter you as the gameplay makes up for that and if you're like me and started with the Gamecube version, you get all the bonuses of the PSXII version only you can aim better. You get the five chapters of Separate Ways (Ada's quest), the special costume 2 set (mafia outfit and Thompson for Leon and the suit of armor for Ashley (annoying to hear but boy it comes in handy A LOT in the castle).

Lastly, there's one Wii exclusive element and that is the trailer for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles... and there was much rejoicing (Monty Python "yay"). Not much cool stuff for the Wii but oh well. The release price, however, sets it apart from other Wii titles to the point where it's cheaper than most to purchase.

Overall RE4 for Wii is worth purchasing if you're a Wii owner; it improves your game and you can still enjoy the classic arcade blowing heads off spree. Wheee!

I was addicted to this game

Ok so you'll get through the first few chapters of the game and just when you think the game is over, the chapters get longer and harder and more save points and its just AWESOME!!!! then beat the game you unlock the unlimitedammo gun which just takes the game to a WHOLE new level. I loved this game. AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!!! It is so much fun because even if you "die" you don't have to start at the beginning ... you can continue almost from wherever scene you are in and retry again ... so much less frustrating than having to start over wherever you last saved. get this game!!!

Spectacular - One of the best games I've ever played

Chalk me up as someone who bought the Gamecube version but was unable to get into the game because of the dual analog controls. I could never get the hang of aiming with a joystick. It was just not intuitive.

So when a Wii version was released, I snatched it up. The controls are PERFECT. Seriously. Capcom needs to realize that the Wii deserves more true Resident Evil games because the Wii has the best control setup for them.

Of course as everyone knows, the game is genius. The developers really know how to craft an amazing and fun game. Boss battles are great, the action is relentless, it's truly scary in atmosphere and jump moments. This game gets your heart pounding.

I'm glad Capcom rereleased this game with these more accessible controls so that I was able to finally experience it. This has made me a fan of the series (I had only played Resident Evil 2 long ago) and I hope Capcom doesn't ignore the Wii with their next entry.

Takes the game to the next level

I've played through this game six times. Twice on Gamecube, twice on PS2, and now twice on the Wii.

I can honestly say I enjoyed it the most on the Wii, even after finishing it four times previously. The Wii controls let you aim much faster and with much more accuracy than in the previous versions of the game. I found this not to be making it easier, but to make the game faster paced, and thusly, keeps the blood pumping. Something the previous versions lacked to a certain degree.

The game itself is superb, sporting incredible graphics for its time and original release platform, and the story line and how it is presented are very cinematic. You feel more like you are participating in movie events, instead of a video game. Very cool feeling.

I highly recommend to anyone who has played this game once and wants to try it again, in a different way. Also, to those who have been tip toeing around the Resident Evil / Biohazard franchise for a while. Take this one for a look. You might find that you will become infected with the Resident Evil fever just like the rest of us.
