First of all I know many people have had problems running this game from looking at the Tribes2 forum. This must be dissapointing but I do not think that anyone should write reviews just to say "I could not get it to work on my machine and therefor this game is not good". If you havenever played the game then don't review it. Personally, I had no problems installing the game, authenticating on the Sierra sever or playing the game. I do know that this game is even more demanding on your hardware then QIII, so if you are considering buying the game you may want to make sure you have the hardware to play it. My rig is a Athlon 900 Mhz, 256M RAM, SB Live!, and a Radeon 32Meg DDR card and I think if I had anything less I might not enjoy playing that much. Before you buy just check the Tribes2 web site forum for discussions of hardware problems.
Hardware consideratons put aside, the gameplay is fantastic. This game has the most realistic combat of any FPS out there. There are times when you literally feel like you are in a scene from "Saving Private Ryan". All the sounds of the weapons are believable and the explosions are very realistic. The gameplay itself does not deviate from the original Tribes that much but the playing fields seem large and as such there seems to be a greater emphasis on vehicles. The pace also seems a little slower than the original but this could be due to the larger playing fields again. The network code is as good as the original, if not better and I have noticed that the number of players in a game averages about 30. In all, if you liked the original Tribes then you will not be dissapointed.
buy it..

This is the best game of the year. Almost all my expectations have been met (except for the fact of talking to people via the microphone option). But, the graphis are great (if you don't have a fast computer you probably can't hang...) and the movemnt, and additional options are awesome...
What are they talking about?

This is a great game. I have a Voodoo 3 card and it runs fine. The graphics are out of this world. Buy this game. The weapons are nice and it is much better than the first one. My only complaint would b with the amount of lag on some of the servers, but what can you do?
AWESOME GAME!!!

This Game is sooooooooooooooooo cool! I just recently bought it from the UK and it rocks! It has the same basic gameplay as Starsiege: Tribes and even though the controls are a bit different it is a great game. With the better graphics, solo play, level editor, added tribes, and awesome soundtrack you could sit at your monitor for hours. If you liked the First Tribes or if you are a fan of action games or novice or an expert Tribes 2 is the game for you! BUY IT!!!!!

This game has huge potential. My friends and I play team based games on our LAN all the time. I was convinsed that Tribes 2 would be our next addiction. After purchasing the game I found out that sierra dropped Glide support so if you own a 3dfx card your out of luck. Later I found out that you also need to have a very fast processor to run the game, so my PIII 500mhz won't do anyway. The thing I can't get past, is that the Graphics aren't that great. Black and White is 10 times better and runs great on my machine. Tweaking Tribes 2's graphics does nothing for your framerates either. I have emailed sierra several times and have received no personalized response. They tell you to turn down the graphics. Sierra has really missed the boat on this one. Oh well, back to Unreal Tournament.
Disappointed

If you have a Voodoo card (don't believe the box which says it is 3dfx compatable), don't buy this game regardless of your machine specs. I am using a Voodoo5500 and I am lucky if I get 20fps out of it(not unplayable, but not worth it either). The game is so fogged in, that you might as well be playing indoors. It does play ok over the internet though. If you have an Nvidia card(Geforce,Geforce2,TNT) you will probably have better luck. I really liked the first Tribes and thought this one would follow in its footsteps.
This Game Is A Very Big Improvement To The First One.

This game has all the works on it. It has 3 new weapons. New Vehicles including ground vehicles. And it has lots of ultimate graphics action. But there is only one thing for 3dfx users to watch for.If your wondering Voodoo has just been bought out by a company called n-video inc. And the reason i say this is because of complaints of 3dfx not working and causing major bugs making the game very difficult to use. Your warranties are useless now. But that doesent mean you cant fight for a exchange. Just make sure you have a reciept avalible so you can exchange the card for a different one,(I reccomend Hercules by Gullimont). So please dont buy the 3dfx products because of this bought out buisness. I reccoment the Hercules because of its major compatibility and way better Graphics than a 64 meg card can do. Also you need to have a 600mhz or higher computor with atleast at the minimum 124 megs of sd ram.(RD is WAY BETTER BUT WAY TO EXPENSIVE!) I give this 4 stars because its not perfect, but very entertaining.
Nutshell: Best Game Ever

I can't say enough about this game. I was a Tribes 1 fan since it first came out, never got old. Now Tribes 2 blew that out of the water. A game you can play for years; come home after work and blow of some steam with the spinfusor. Ultimate online fps. Period. Must experience to believe. Give it a chance, the more you play, the more you learn and the better it gets.
I love this game and will always love this game! :)

I have played tribes 2 and tribes 1 for over 2 years. It is the only game i have installed in my computer. Yes, I do own other games, but tribes is the best series i have ever played. The single campaign..., but the reason it ... is because the only reason they have it is to teach you controls before going online. Once online, you will enter an interactive fighting expeirence with clans, scrimmages, ladders, forums, email, etc. One of the reasons tribes 2 is so great is it keeps on changing because of new mods. Only problem, is that you cant stop playing. Though, to much upset of people who own t2, it is now falling apart because it is very old now, and the companies that host servers are not doing well.
Best massive on line shooter ever made

You simply cannot find anything else out there that matches the scope and the breadth of this game. There are so many options for outfitting yourself, so many roles, so many vehicles, that you could play hundreds of times and act in a completely separate role each time... and each role takes time to learn well.
