Whats all the complaining?

I have a friend who has this game, as well as I, and neither of us have any problems to complain about. Sure its slow on his machine, which is a 450Mhz AMD K6-2, 128MB of RAM and a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP. But it is not unplayable, yes it doesn't look great like pictures, but its good enough to play.

Myself, I have a P3-600, 512MB of RAM, GeForce2 32MB and its fine cranked to the max resolution, and all the sliders up. I even turned 4X FSAA on and it was playable (as well as incredible). The only thing that I may have going for me is WINDOWS 2000 and OPENGL. That combo is awesome for many games.

Ok here is the break i bought tribes to...back when it was realy worth that much. THIS GAME KILLS.(literaly). graphcis are awsome. game play EXELENT. and different mods and modes of play which'll keep you busy for... forever i guess!
But be warned, This game has awsome graphics and NEEDS a powerfull computer. and on the box it says it supports vodoo cards. IT DOES NOT. you need to have a different 3d accerator card than vodoo....
DONT LOSE THIS OPPERTUNITY. TRIBES 2 IS VERY FUN COOL AND BeaTIFUL TO LOOK AT. i highly recomend it. ok here is a lil more info. no blood is in it. has a swearing filter to block out all the mean and nasty people you meet. if your new. prepare to die. alot! these tribes players have been playing 12 hours a day for about 2 years now. Dont get discoraged though. you'll get the hang of it.

I love this

This is a great game. When you are used to Half-Life's tracked, jerky vehicles, T2's smooth drivable ones are incredible. I'm still mastering running people down in my l337 gravcycle. There are a lot of things to customize. You'll be adopting a role, but the cool thing is this: If you want to be a medic and a pilot that plays offense with a Spinfusor, go to it. T2 even has a built-in email system, forums, news, and chat rooms. You get a profile, and you can have a buddy list. You can set the filter to find servers with your buddies in them, so you can play with them at any time. You have a point with the fact that it's hard to learn, but I myself didn't have much trouble. I read the manual about 3 times (I keep it by my comp in emergencies), practiced with bots, taught myself to fly, and I'm having no problems. (Except I kinda suck with the weapons...=) The only major con I can see is you need an iron fist as far as computer equipment. I have an Nvidia Geforce 3, or something along those lines, and I have no problems. I HIGHLY reccommend this game if you have the hardware to run it. If you do get it.. Say goodbye to the thing called 'sleep'.

Playing this is a must!

If a first person shooter game with the added advantage of being on a complete team sounds interesting, then this is what you've been waiting for. Tribes 2 is complex and diverse FPS game that has many good and bad qualities to it.

Some of the good qualities are that the game has excellent playability. Before hopping right onto a server, you are able to take on several single player missions that help you hone in on the controls and how the game works. Also, if you're on a LAN, then you are able to play a few games on it as well. Of course, the game is made to play online and is wonderful to play over the internet.

Some of the bad qualities are that the controls are difficult to get used to right at first. Also, the command controls doesn't add any speed to your game especially when your in the midst of battling with others. The game sometimes gets a little sluggish on my machine which is a PII 400, 256 ram, and a GeForce 2 MX - 32 mb but the game doesn't ever get too slow to not completely enjoy.

A person who enjoys FPS games, i.e. Quake or UT, would only like this game if they enjoy being apart of a team and can be a true team player. With all of those in mind, I say that the overall verdict on this game is just unlike any other FPS out currently.

Good Game Once You Dumb It Down

(this is for people a little below requirments)I have a 333 Mhz 128 MB Ram , Cable Connection, Matrox Millenium Vid Card and the game was choppy at first. Once you dumb down the graphics the gmae works perfectly. You really don't need interior graphics to much so set it a medium and it will be fine same with the body graphics...you can't see them up close anywayz. But the game is extremly fun and the vechiles are great! If you have any problems it'll etheir be with the choppiness (only at high graphics) or a "Internal Erorr" that can be easily fixed by getting the most recent patch. Get this game!

Are we beta testing?

This game is too buggy as of 4/01/2001 and I think Sierrarushed this game. Just check out ... forums and you will see hundredsof bug reports and complaints. I played this game on my friend'scomputer and Tribes 2 requires some serious hardware. You'll needGeforce2 and 700MHZ+ CPU to run it with relatively good graphicoptions.

I'm not that impressed with Tribes 2(I'm a veteran Tribes1player). It seems Sierra was just after money... They alreadyannounced an expansion pack and it is going to cost ... exp pack for...layed this game on my friend's computer and Tribes 2 requires someserious hardware. Fun, but not impressive.

I play FPS on a regular basis, QUAKE, UREAL, and the like. TRIBES 2 is definatly a lot of fun. Nice open maps, the ability to fly. You have a jet pack to do this. You can even drive vehicles! Now that is a good idea! It really makes the teamplay more fun. Now onto that very subjet of teamplay.

TRIBES 2 was meant as a multiplayer experiance. But as with UNREAL TOURNAMENT, I once again find very little teamplay. No one seems to work as a team. There is no communication. It is because of this that I prefer QUAKE 3 deathmatch. I can just blast away at whomever. You can play deathmatch in TRIBES 2, but the most popular game is Capture the Flag, which is my least favorite game for the reason I mentioned above. No one works as a team. Rabbit, I think is the best game in TRIBES 2.

This game would have gotten five stars if, all the gamers really did work as a team in CTF. This is what the game was designed for:teamwork.

The game has great weapons and unique tactics to winning, beacuse of your jet pack ability. And it IS fun. I just long for that ultimate teamplay game. This one isn't it.

Does Not Work With Most Graphics Cards

I got this game for my Dell Pentium III 700 and it did not work. My screen flickered when in the game and I could not see anything. I realized that on the bottom of the box it is REQUIRED that you have 1 out of a few of the graphics card listed at the bottom. I have a Diamond Viper Graphics card and it required that I have a Diamond Viper II graphics card. Don't buy this game if you don't have a state of the art graphics card or else.

Vanishing Time

Time disappears with Tribes1 or 2. Your bed time becomes morning before you know it. Your spouse (if you still have one)thinks you have a sickness. So if you have no family in the house and want to get lost this will do it!

Could've been much better.

Though I like this game, it could've been much better. The graphics aren't good on some things like the explosions. They look cheesy. You blow up a turrett and all you see is pieces flying. The ground has no detail and the bushes are generic. One of the good things from the first to the second is that the machine gun hits a little better, but only a little. The jet pack doesn't have enough energy, especially when your plasma gun pulls from that. The connection isn't that great either as you seem to constantly get a slow connection (and mind you I have a PIII 1000mhz, 256 rdram, 64meg video card, and I have a cable modem). Some of the other weapons are just stupid, but there are some cool features. You can play3 different warrior classes. And I love the team play function (Though some people who play this have no clue about team play). They could have made this better on many levels, but it look like they were trying to beat the rush of new games coming out like Half-Life: Blue Shift, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, & the new Duke Nukem. They should have taken their time and made this better (which is probably why sales haven't been very good). It's still a fun game, but it coudl've been better.
