ok as far as the purchase goes this is the most bang for my buck that i have found. the remote alone justifies the purchase. considerint the cost of a single remote the game could be pin the tail on the donkey. but if your buying this for the game and the controller is not your main focus, don't get your hopes up. i was under the impression that the shooting game was a revitilized version of duck hunt..its not. the 9 games are good for a firrst game to ge tu used to the control styles of most other games for wii. i consider this game a stepping stone most games are very child friendly and they give u another medium to interact with your miis. the pool game is 9 ball and entertaining as is the "tanks" and even the cow racing is enjoyable.
like i said don't buy this game expecting much more then a controller and you will enjoy it , if your buying for content you making a mistake.
final opinion well worth the cost of the controller and the game is a bonus
Good Deal

Wii Play is a bundle comprised of 9 casual Mini-games and a Wii Remote Control. The Mini-games can be compared to those found in Wii-Sports, which comes standard with every Nintendo Wii. Wii Play features a good mix of small Puzzle, Action and Skill based games. Families will appreciate this variety, as it offers something for everyone. Unfortunately, Wii Play can only be played by 2 Players. We recommend Wii-Play to everyone who is looking for an additional controller: A single Wii-Remote Controller costs $39.99, Wii Play with Wii Remote costs $49.99. Means, for $10 more you get 9 fun Mini-games with a Wii-mote. Pretty much a no-brainer in our opinion.
Only buy this game if you need another remote

The game is not the selling point here. The only game I thought was fun is the combat style tank game. Duck hunt is all right too. But if you need a remote, buy this bundle, because the game is worth the extra 10 bucks.
Another mini-game compilation

I tried out Wii Play at a friend's house to see what it was about. It's basically the sequel to the Wii Sports pack-in, and features more mini-games for the casual gamer.
I have to admit, despite the general low budget nature of the product, when Wii Play works its a very addictive experience. A lot of the fun with Wii has been re-discovering classic games with the new gesture controls. So you're still playing stuff like Duck Hunt, table hockey, pool, etc, only now the wii-mote controls make those simple diversions refreshing again. Where the package fails is that not every mini-game is a classic. The 'where's waldo' game is a dud for me, as is the one where you have to turn your Mii to fit inside a bubble. Others like cow racing and fishing are middle of the pack. All of them make for decent diversions with friends, but there's not quite as many mini games that stand up to extended play. Wii Sports was the better 'demo' package.
Of course, you're also getting a wii-mote when you buy this, which may justify the overall value. While I'm glad Nintendo has shown us there's still room for simplicity and the casual gamer, it's time to move on to bigger things with better production values. I don't know how well a third collection would stand up when the novelty of gesture gaming has worn off.
If you need an extra Wii remote then this is the game for you, if not ......

If you are in need of an extra Wii remote then get this game because you are only, in theory, paying $10 for the game. The game is worth $10, not $50. If you do not need an extra Wii remote then pass on this one.

Wii play is a very good creation because it gives you a remote and a couple other games. Every game is very fun but if your playing by yourself it can get boring after a while. Two player is very fun in all of the games. Probably one of the best games there are tanks and billiards. Tanks is where you control a tank and try to blow the other ones up. Billiards is like a real game of billiards really. This is a good buy especially if you only have 1 remote.

My kids like Wii Play. I, however, think it's kinda bland. Definitely you should only buy this game for the Remote Controller. That's it. If you do that, then the game is really just an extra 10 bucks and that's about what it's worth. There are games like Pool and Ping-Pong and a souped-up version of the old Atari classic Combat (battling tanks) but Wii sports is mainly geared for the inexperienced Wii player and the games are designed to teach you how to use the Remote Controller in all its variations. I like the Pool, but there is no next level and that is annoying. Nine ball gets weary after a while, it would have been nice to unlock another version of Pool. Overall, definitely not as good as the Wii Sports game that comes with the console. Most of the games on Will play are silly. Like I said, if you need another controller, buy Wii Play, otherwise skip it.

Wii Play is a great tool for learning to use the Wiimote

I picked this game up for the same reason most people have - I needed a second remote. I also thought this game would be an excellent transition game/learning tool for Mario Party and the newer Wii games soon to come out. My wife and I are from the first generation of gaming (Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, NES, Atari, etc.) and we really haven't had much interest in video games since our teenage years (I have a PS-One that collects dust in the basement). When we saw the Wii we thought this would be a great console for us - interactive, fun and not a lot of sitting pushing buttons. We have enjoyed the Wii intensely and play maybe 3 hours a week on it (a lot more than any other game we have). My wife loves Wii Sports and beats me every time in bowling but she needed to move beyond Wii Sports if we are going to continue playing the Wii in any fashion (avoiding the dust collecting). Wii Play utilizes everything you need to learn to use the Wiimote. The games have limited replay value, but they excel at hand-eye coordination and movement control. What we have accomplished in two days of playing as far as control goes is well worth the extra $10. This game is truly a great learning tool if nothing else. We are anxiously awaiting the release of Mario Party (for the first time).
Highly Enjoyable, With a Few Exceptions

Wii Play (which conveniently comes with a second Wii Remote) is an enjoyable game for the Wii, especially when played with two people.
Acting as a sort of tutorial on how to use the Wii Remote, Wii Play includes a number of mini games that will certainly teach you the Remote's many uses; however, the most important consideration with this game is its replay-ability.
Wii Play contains about 9 mini games, with several of them worthy of playing over and over again - notably Table Tennis (roughly as challenging and competitive as "Wii Sports'" tennis game), Laser Hockey (a kicked-up version of Pong), Charge! (a surprisingly fun game in which you race cows - think a farm version of Mario Cart lite), a pool game (which is fairly challenging) and, last but certainly not least: Shooting Gallery, a sort of neo-Duck Hunt, which I'm sure many of us were waiting for.
Less impressive are some of the other games, notably one in which you are asked to pick out Miis from an assortmet of lineups, one involving tanks (the controlls are difficult to master) and another involving fishing. All things considered, Wii Play is worth the investment - especially since it is a game and controller all in one for a single affordable price. While several of the games are less than stellar, most of them are quite enjoyable and will have you coming back again and again.

Go get a controller and save your $10 dollars for something that will provide more than 10 minutes of enjoyment. The games are simplistic and repetitive and, for $10 dollars, you can go buy a used GameCube game to play on the Wii.
