Worth the $10

Like people are saying, Wii Play is worth the $50 for the game AND the remote, when a remote costs you $40 by itself. Also, remotes are still pretty hard to come by.
If you think of this game as a demo. game or as a game you would pay $10 for, then you won't be disappointed. If you think of it as a regular video game for $50 or on par with Zelda, you will be disappointed.
My wife picked this game up at Target on Tuesday right when it came out. We like it a lot, although it leaves a fair amount to be desired when compared to Wii Sports.
Only 1-2 people can play at a time, not the 4 like can play in Wii Sports. The games are like mini games, some of which are very addicting. I personally like the Pick Mii game where you try to match Mii's or find unique Mii's on the screen amongst several dozen other Mii's, within a time limit.
As other people have said, Ping Pong is not nearly as complex as tennis, but it's pretty fun nonetheless.
Mii Pose is pretty dumb.
I was confused by the Pool game. I thought it would be like a regular game of pool, but it is a little weird. I don't care much for Pool.
The other games are pretty cool.
It's worth the $10 extra for the game as something you can play with someone else or by yourself to kill time for fun. However, don't buy this game thinking it's something complex or very involving. It is more of a demo. of what the wiimote can do.
Still, I think it's worth owning as a new Wii owner.

Simple and Short - But Certainly Made Me Smile!

While I certainly would not have shelled out $50 for wii play without the remote, for the $10 above the cost of a wiimote, this game is a great novelty and really demonstrates the innovative nature of the wii and gets me excited for for the future.

This arrived today at work from Amazon - and I played it on my 1 hour lunch break at home - which was ample time to try each game and go round too on the shooting.

I do think overall it is fun and stands on its own. The key to the game is to have enough miis made. Finding my sister, wife, and mom in find mii was pretty funny. Watching them dance around the title screen is pretty amusing as well.

Here are my quick thoughts on each game:

1. Shooting - Short - but lots of fun. Definitely repeatable.
2. Find Mii - actually pretty clever - you start finding people yielding a flashlight in a dark room after a few rounds. Definitely better if you have created some miis.
3. Ping Pong - not much fun in my opinion - a little overly simplistic
4. Air Hockey - Actually kind of fun - strong nostalgia factor a la atari pong
5. Bubble Burst - I does hurt your wrist a bit, but very different from any game I have ever played - looking forward to 2 player here
6. Billiards - Probably the most challenging - I think it will have a longer lifespan than the others
7. Cow Riding - By far the zaniest, the controls are really unique and engaging
8. Tank - Lots of Atari Nostalgia. Could definitely see myself playing this one more
9. Fishing - pretty lame - If you have Zelda: Twilight princess - you will see what fishing on the Wii should really be like!

What You Get For The Price = 5 Stars!

Depending on where you buy Wii Play the price is either $10.00 on top of a Wiimote or free with a Wiimote. So basically you are getting 9 mini-games for $10. Great deal - plus these games are very fun and teach new gamers and old gamers how to use the Wiimote. Pick this game up just for the extra Wiimote (you know you need it for Tennis) and then get to playing Wii Play.

A lot of people complain about the depth, but this game has A LOT more depth than is to be expected from a free-$10 game.

Worth the price

It is not such a problem now, but there used to be a time when it was impossible to find a Wii remote. During that period of time is when I bought this game. This game(with remote) is only 5 dollars more then buying just the remote. The games included are kind of silly and won't get as much out of it as wii sports, however much worth the 5 dollars, maybe more.

fun game

I got this for valentines day. It is a fun game and the price is amazing-one Wii mote and a game that shows you all you can do.

The games
Table Tennis- Ping pong but on a TV with friends watching you embarrass yourself :-)

Fishing-this has become my parents new favorite game. You hold the remote like a fishing pole then wait and move it around to catch fish before your opponent. Great for people who aren't really into videogames but like to have fun.

Find Mii- Another fun and easy game. You have to pick out your avatar from a group of avatars. The catch is that sometimes they are running, shopping, sleeping or even watching a baseball game.

Pose Mii- perhaps the oddest games on here, you have to move the Wii remote in different positions to match the ones shown on screen in order to pop bubbles. Like I said it is bizarre.

Shooting Range- Essentially an awseomized version of the classic Duck Hunt. I play this all the time, it was fun until my trigger happy friend beat me at it :-( . I got him in the fishing game though.

Billiards-My dad loves this one. It's just like playing real pool. You line up the shot, push it just enough and hopefully make it in. I'm not really into this game but I don't even enjoy the real thing that much.

Charge! - okay, this is the best game on here. You are riding a cow and you have to knock down scarecrows that pop up in the middle of the road. This is a game me and my mom play often. She has been practicing so now she beats me every time. They could have sold this game separately and it would have still been awesome.

Tanks!- Super fun game! My favorite on here, you try and move your tank around to shoot down other tanks, you can also lay down mines. The levels progressively get harder until eventually you become the commander in chief. Unlike most of the games on here this is also a fun solo game.

All in all for $10 on top of a Wii remote buy this game.

Entertaining game

I feel competitive when I play video games. I like this game because it makes you go back and try to improve with each try. If you like beating your high score with shooting, pool, fishing, and table tennis, then it's a lot of fun. It's not something to play on the Wii every time, but it's great to always have to go back to. There is never an end to this game and I like that. I find myself getting bored with Wii Sports after awhile because the games are usually a stalemate after you reach 2000 points. Wii Play doesn't have anything like that.
The extra Wii remote is a bonus as well.
Only complaint: the pose game is really dumb. It's much better off without it all together.

This is possibly the best purchase I have made online ever. The game comes with an extra Wii Remote, and is totally fun. It is more mini games you can play alone or with up to four people - things like billiards, lazer hockey, cow racing, and a shooting game similar to duck hunt. Since I couldn't find any Wii Remotes or Wii Play games for sale anywhere in my area I was thrilled to be able to order it on amazon for such a great price.

Don't waste your money unless you want the remote

I bought it on launch day. What a waste of money. THe games are boring and repetitive. Laser hockey is probably the best, and even that is shallow.

Decent, but it could be more

I've played this game now as a single player and as multiplayer. For some games multiplayer is more fun than single player, but I've got to admit that this was not at all what I was hoping for. It's a great deal, like everyone has said. If you need the extra remote it's worth it. I enjoy the fact that they're short games. If you don't have a whole lot of time, like you're heading off to class, then it's fun to play for a couple of minutes, but it certainly doesn't keep my attention as long as Wii Sports. Overall, great deal, decent play.

If you need a remote, buy this instead

It's a $10 game... the people complaining that it isn't like Wii Sports are expecting a little too much. There's 8 games total, 4 of which are pretty fun and good party games. That comes to like 2.50 for a decent game - people spend more than that on their daily coffee. The Find a Wii game is maddenningly addictive, and a great 2+ player game. Tanks is great as well - it would be nice to save and pick up at some of the harder levels rather than going through the first 4-5 levels to get to a good challenge, but of well. And the Shooting game is another great 2 player game - it gets pretty frantic with two wiimotes firing away for the highest score. The other games are probably better for a party, but decent either way. If you have 4 wiimotes, don't buy this. If you need or want another wiimote, grab this instead and you'll be pleasantly surprised with some of this microgames, just don't expect another wii sports, or full game, because that's not what they were after.
