If you really need a wii remote and can't find one then this is the game to buy. Overall this game is horrendous and shouldn't even have been released. I was hoping this would be similiar to Wii Sports but it makes Wii Sports look like the greatest game ever made. Save your $50 and wait for a $40 wiimote, people will be giving away this game free soon.
Great Buy!

The games on Wii Play are tons of fun AND you get a FREE Wii remote! Almost all of the games are loads of fun and get even better when you play with multiple people. The negative side to Wii Play is its lack of customization features. Just like Wii Sports, many of the games should have options to modify game play, such as Pool. In pool, you are forced to play 9-Ball, which I have never seen anyone play. I think the game should allow the player to choose which rules they want to play by. Also, the Duck Hunt game is the EXACT same every time you play it and you can't change how long it lasts (it's super short).
Overall, Wii Play is a great game to pick up and play with buddies for an hour or so while you drink a beer or two. Also, the game comes with a free Wii remote. Wii Play shows off the Wii's potential in awesome gameplay but comes up short in allowing real gamers the opportunity to have some real fun.
Worth it if you need an extra remote

The main reason I got this was I wanted another remote and I figured a few small games for a couple of bucks over the price of the controller wasn't too bad.
They're short, fun and entertaining, but that's it, nothing wow about em.
Don't understand why

Don't understand why the Amazon sellers are selling the Wii Play game without the Wiimote controller for $30. The game itself should be less than $10. People buy this package because that's the value of the Wiimote plus a bonus game.
Buy it ONLY if you need the Wii Remote...

The "Wii Play" game itself leaves much to be desired... It offers a couple of decent "quick play" games.
The bottom line: It is worth $10 bucks, so buy it if you need the extra Wii Remote.
A great controller, with a mediocre game

I bought Wii Play in hopes that the table tennis would be as much fun as the Wii Tennis on Wii Sports. (That, and it came with a Wii Remote)
The "games" that come with Wii Play, are mediocre, at best. Some of the 9 are just down right dumb, and completely boring.
The highlight, for me, is the "shooting" game, which is very much like the old Nintento Duck Hunt. If they released an entire game of just this, I'd be in line to buy it.
Overall, if you need another Wii Remote, and want a "decent" game for $10 extra, go for the Wii Play. In some cases, Wii Play's easier to find, than a Wii Remote, on its own.

I bought this knowing that I was buying a forty dollar Wii Remote and a ten dollar game. And for a ten dollar game, it's pretty good. It picks up where Wii Sports left off - but doesn't go very far. My favorite mini-game is the lazer air hockey one. My three year old daughter likes the cow race one. Most of my overall stars go to the actual Wii Remote, which is great.
Purchase only for the remote

The game ends up feeling like a bunch of free Flash games. Luckily, I bought it for the remote, not the game, so the extra $10 was no big deal. Wii Sports (which is bundled with the Wii) is a lot more fun than this.
Bad game, good deal

As fun as Wii sports is, this game is the complete opposite. For starters you have to go to the main game screen to change characters, and the games are only for 1-2 players. It's a good buy if you need another remote and only plan on playing the game a few times.
