The Greatest Zelda Game so Far

It's a rare occasion in the video game industry when a game series consistently manages to top itself one game after the next, but that's exactly what Nintendo manages to do with the Zelda franchise. I thought Ocarina of Time would never be dethroned as my favorite game of all time, but Twilight Princess is actually better. Started as a GameCube title, this action-RPG really shines with the Wii controls. Slashing your sword, shooting arrows, and especially fishing are both rewarding and accurately mapped to the Wiimote, and let's not forget the graphics. Ever since the days of the N64, Zelda has become a benchmark for the graphics power of Nintendo's systems. True, it has GameCube graphics, but so much time and effort went into creating this living, breathing world that minor jaggies aren't that big a deal. We are already seeing the full graphics potential of the system with upcoming games like Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros. Anyway, the story is dark for a Zelda game, which I love, the characters are fantastic, and the action never stops! The levels are so detailed, I have regularly run across random hidden holes and gone spelunking for nearly an hour, finding all kinds of hidden treasures and fighting spiders and other creatures. Another great feature of this game is the length, this is definitely the longest Zelda game ever, and you can literally find things to do for months after you buy it. Do yourself a favor, if you buy a Wii, you HAVE to buy this game, as it's a masterpiece.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the best Zelda came to his consoles since Super Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

I'm not going to write this review for noobs. For you die-hard Zelda fans out there, this is the cream of the crop. The items and weapons are awesome, with some old favorites and a few new goodies. The boss fights are incredible! It is obvious that the game makers took a lot of time on this one to make sure to get everything perfect, and when you play you will see their attention to detail and patience in release will keep you playing and playing.

I recommend this title for Wii players above most other games available today - regardless if you are a Zelda player of the past or not. Come see what the talk is all about...

Best Zelda Game Yet!!!!!

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (TP) is a perfect game with only a few minor flaws. I got it back in Dcember 06 and I'm still not tired of it. This game is very similar to Ocarnia of Time.

Graphics- Amazing. This game could pass for Xbox 360. The environments and dungeons are beautiful and detailed. There are only a few tiny glicthes. Many people think the Wii doesn't have good graphics, but I don't think that. I think people think that because developers aren't taking advantange of the good graphics the Wii can have. TP is the first game I've seen that actually takes advantage of them.

Controls- probably the games weak point, but they're not too bad. They take a long time to get used to. To control the sword, you slash the remote like a sword. It's really fun and easy. The negative about the controls are the nunchuck. When you make a thrust motion to do a sheild attack, Link often does a spiral sword attack(move the nunchuck side to side or in a circle) instead. In order to preform the sheild attack, you need to make your movement extremely clear, which is a little annoying. The wolf controls are confusing because you need to slash the remote like a sword. It sounds simple, but it's not. It's confusing because the wolf doesn't have a sword. If he doesn't have a sword then why do I need to slash??? Other than that the controls are pretty good.

Gameplay- Outstanding. Basic Zelda gameplay. One of my favorite parts of TP is that you can play as Wolf Link. It is a blast and the wolf is amazing. The baddies are hard to fight as a wolf (you don't have a sheild or sword and you can't use items), especially ones in the air. I know this sounds silly, but I often find myself giving up on defeating the baddies and just running away as Wolf Link. Battles are pretty easy and fun as regular Link. Battles are difficult and frusturating on horseback because you always miss the enemies. You often need to take a few seconds to turn your horse around(ugh), giving your enemy a perfect oppurtunity to attack you. Other than that, riding the horse is an awesome experience. TP has a perfect balance of fun, action, and exploring. I wouldn't reccomend this game for chidren 4,5,or 6 years old because it will probably be a little scary for them and way too difficult. Dungeons can get a little difficult and repetitive. Zelda fans will feel right at home with this game because the gameplay is still good and hasn't changed much.

Difficulty- MOderate. The dungeons in this game are very complex. Getting through them requires a lot of thinking. The first dungeon (Forest Temple) is the hardest so far. After that, the temples are actually really easy. If you get stuck, got to ign.com. It has a complete walkthrough. I bet you will bonk yourself on the head when you realize how easy the dungeon really was.

Baddies- Another weak point. They haven't changed at all from previous Zelda games. They are easy to fight and seem uninspired. The bosses in TP are actually a piece of cake. A boss or mid-boss has never taken me over twelve minutes.

Overall, TP is an outstanding game. If you're looking for a RPG that has a lot of action and will keep you busy, this game is for you. A MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for reading!!!

This is the first wii game we got for our wii console. Great graphics. The teen rating is correct because it may be too scary for the younger ones, although they may enjoy playing the game with the family.

The best Zelda Game since Ocarina of Time

I've played every major Zelda game (where Link has to battle Ganon), and this game is the best Zelda game I ever played! What I liked about the game was that the dungeons were awesome, the boss fights were so much fun, and the side quests in this game were great. Sure Midna gets a little annoying, but she grew on me. What I liked about the game the best was the overall game play for the Wii (easy to adjust too), the great story line (I felt like I was in a long movie), and that the programers made improvements on what worked, and got rid of the aspects that did not (I'm so glad they got rid of the cartoon type style they had in Wind Walker). That being said, this game has a darker storyline and can be kind of complex, parents, I would suggest getting this for a kid that has a lot of patience and a long attention span.

Best Game on the Wii...

I'm bored at work so I figured I'd push my opinion around as if it's fact. This is the best game on the Wii. Seriously though, no joke.

The Zelda series needs to change it's formula.

To start off, I'm going to be blunt: The Zelda series needs help. I haven't gotten completely through this game, but after going through 6 of the dungeons, I don't think any gameplay is going to drastically change.

Graphics: Now this title certainly doesn't push any folds of visual eye candy, but seeing how this is a Gamecube game port I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. The characters look fantastic and the animations are pretty fluid throughout. The environments on the other hand can look pretty muddy, and the trees leaves can look like flat pieces of paper. I would've prefered Wind Waker cel-shading because at least it seemed to use the power of the system.

Sound: Probably one of the biggest downers of the game. No voice overs, you have to read what everyone says, with only one character with anything remotely similar to actual voice acting. In this day and age, reading what people are saying with no actual voices feels dated... and it is. The music being of poor quality isn't good either. Nintendo really could've upped the production value and have at least a few of the songs or pieces in there fully orchestrated.

Oh yeah, and the Wii-Remotes' speaker tends to make some of the noises sound scrunchy, which is weird seeing how the game Wii Sports sounds from the li'l speaker is pretty good.

Controls: Now this is where things get a bit more fun than just a normal controller. Aiming with the wii-remote is a lot more accurate and fun, and while it isn't a direct replica of your movements, swinging the remote to swing Link's sword is pretty nifty. If I were to have played the GC version, I wouldn't have gotten as far as I had in the game.

Overall, the game just feels dated. Not just in sound, and in some instances graphics, but in how the game plays. It just feels like you roam around Dungeon to Dungeon, solving puzzles and fighting enemies that require no skill to actually defeat. It's terribly linear and there really isn't much challenge to it. Video games are fun when they're challenging. If they can't provide that challenge, there's no point in playing. The formula needs to change or else every Zelda will end up being the same boring game with beefier graphics.

If you're a big Zelda fan, you'll most likely love this game. If you're anyone else, steer clear. I'm actually having more fun with Super Swing Golf, a golf game with big eyed kids and weird plots, than I did with Zelda.

They use the same formula they've been using since forever. It doesn't really mix things up that much, which is kind of disappointing. Also, if you have your z-targeting on toggle, certain dungeons like the sky dungeon have very annoying camera angles. The Wii mote controls get really bad towards the end (I had difficulty trying to shoot my clawshots in the sky dungeon because even when I was pointing at the screen it said 'please point the wii mote at the screen' and when I moved it, link would slash his sword. I have two different wii motes and I came up with the same conclusion every time). This game is really hyped up, but if you want a game that'll deliver, I recommend playing the wind waker instead because the wind waker tried to reinvent parts of the formula, instead of just abusing the formula like TP. If that's not your gig, play the game that defined TLOZ in the 3D era, The Ocarina of Time...
If you're feeling even more hardcore, just play A Link To The Past and see the perfection of the over used formula.
