I am not much of a gamer but bought a Wii and Zelda because they seemed so unique. I love playing this game. Lots of imaginative things and your problem solving ability is really challenged. I am 51 years old and love this game. The controls didn't take long to get used to at all. I am not a very intuitive gamer yet I've been able to keep advancing in this game through persistence and problem solving. While the graphics don't match XBox or PS3- the gaming experience more than makes up for it I think.
I <3 Twilight Princess!!

Ever since Ocarina of Time, I've been anticipating a cooler, more realistic Zelda (although Ocarina was just perfection embodied anyway). At last, at last - here is Twilight Princess. More realistic? Oh, yeah! Link has some butt-kicking sword moves and additional sword skills he can learn. Also, there are some very epic battles (Lord of the Rings-style). I am so happy that Link can use his sword while riding his horse now. Playing as a wolf is fun, too, even though toward the beginning I wasn't so into it.
Besides OoT and Twilight Princess, I've completed Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker. Compared to the other Zeldas, I would say that Twilight Princess is lacking music-wise. Often, the soundtrack fades out, leaving you to listen just to the rain falling (which is kinda nice) or the wind. Twilight Princess's soundtrack borrows heavily from older Zeldas and has many references to them, especially OoT. Unfortunately, not many of the songs are as catchy, although the one played in Malo Mart and Midna's Desperate Hour are really good in their own ways. I really wish the composer had used OoT's Gerudo Valley song, which was really exotic and fun.
A lot of older Zelda weapons show up - of course, there's the bow and arrows, the slingshot, a kind of boomerang... However, there's some new, weird weapons that I would never have expected to be in the game, or new uses of the weapons. To avoid giving away too much, I'll just explain the Gale Boomerang, which you get early on. Instead of just wacking things, the boomerang creates a whirlwind around them. It can retrieve things, clear away leaves, turn propellers... Also, it will go to targets in the order you targeted them with. Comes in handy even in the last part of the game. Plenty of other weapons are useful in a variety of different, creative ways.
Story-wise, Twilight Princess is not really about Link, in my opinion - although, of course, he's the main character. After the game was over, it seemed to me that the game was more about Midna, the little goblin-like girl who's with Link for a good deal of the game. She was one of my favorite characters since she had spunk and humor. Anyway, the story is much more complex than I would have expected since it deals with two worlds, the world of light and the world of shadows. Link seems to have closer relationships with other characters than he did in other games - but of course, he never actually SAYS anything. One of the things I would like to see in a Zelda game is more interactive character relationships (although that's rather RPG-ish, isn't it?).
What broke my heart, though, was that Link is no longer left-handed in this game (the creators realized people seemed to like having the Wii remote in their right hand while Link swings his sword with his right hand... the Gamecube version is the mirror of the Wii version, so Link is left-handed in that one). I sorta wish there had been a left-handed option so you could still play with Link left-handed. Ah, well. Also sad that the game is sort of scary/intense sometimes but there are NO wallmasters or booby-trapped chests, to my knowledge, and the ReDeads aren't as eerie as in OoT. I guess this means...I don't think any Zelda game will ever be exactly the way I want it, hehe.
Anyway, to summarize: Zelda is awesome. Zelda is always worth it. Twilight Princess is awesome. I beat it in around 50 hours including several side missions and mini-games and hours of pointless running around. The bad guys are tough; the last battle is relatively easy, although it's really, really long and epic (and awesome). The ending is satisfying, appropriate, and rather touching. As for the graphics, the Wii is clearly capable of more, but I heard that Twilight Princess doesn't look as great as it could because it was originally designed for the GameCube. In any case, with a game as fun as this, you should not be a stickler for the graphics. The game looks great regardless, and it's fun regardless.
Zelda rocks!

This game is the best title made for any video game system in recent years. The story, the graphics and the game play are second to none. If you like games like Shenmue, Resident Evil, previous Zelda's or Prince of Persia, this is a must have for you.

I think that this is the best Legend of Zelda game yet. The graphics are better than I expected and the gameplay is phenomenal! The only thing that was a downside was much remote action other than swinging the remote to use the sword and using the nunchuk to spin. Other than that it was the best Legend of Zelda game I have ever played! I played it about 8 hours at a time!

As someone who recalls playing the first Zelda on the original NES, I have to say that Zelda has come a long way. Twilight Princess is true to the original, requiring thought and challenge to move onto each area. I did find that this version gave you a lot more help than Occarina of Time or the original Legend of Zelda. I breezed through the game quicker than I expected and didn't get stuck very often or for very long.
I think another thing that kept it moving was that you got every tool and weapon handed to you. In the original, you had to buy your first boomerang and shield, so you spent a large portion of your time collecting rupies to purchase items, making you explore the land and discover hidden secrets. In Twilight Princess you get a lot of money and have nothing to spend it on. Everything you need can be found in the temples.
The last complaint I have is that after saving the entire land of Hyrule and ending up with 3 good looking girls, not one of them gave Link a single kiss. What a whole lot of thanks for sacrificing your life to save an entire world...sheesh. Nintendo staff...next time I want a little sugar.

I just recently bought the Wii and this game. I have had the time of my life playing out my Wii for about a week. Zelda is truly the perfect buy along side the Wii, defitnley better then Wii Play. Coming with Wii Sports for some great multi-player, Zelda is a perfect singleplayer game for the Wii right now. 10/10.

An amazingly good action/puzzle role-playing game with superb story-line, great character development and fantastic controls and gameplay. With maybe 60 hours of adventure, it's an epic not worth missing.
Another epic legend created by the masterminds of Nintendo.

I have noticed that recently, it has almost become vogue to dislike Twilight Princess. I will never dislike the game. I thought It was absolutely epic and amazing. The people who say this game was dissapointing are obviously ones who are hard to please.
Twilight Princess was the fantastic game I expected, no more. The amount of depth put in the game is mind boggling. The people at Nintendo took their time to make the game as polished and epic as possible, and they greatly succeeded. When you take a moment to just look at the game you will be blown away. Most especially if you find a high place in Lake Hylia or Gerudo Desert to look below you and see the scope of the game. Hyrule Field is absolutely huge...and beautiful.
Twilight Princess may be a Gamecube game at heart, but the graphics are absolutely wonderful. This game is one of those that starts off looking OK, but as you progress the environments begin to look better and better. Anyone who plays the game will notice that instantly.
As for the difficulty level of the game. Well, the game can be a trifle easy. But most who say that are, like me, Zelda veterans and are not looking from the perspective of newcomers. However, I do feel that Nintendo should find a way to make it more difficult for gamers like me and accesible for newcomers. Perhaps in the next Wii installment that problem will be addressed.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was delayed for a reason. It's one of the most polished and epic games you can play. And you'll definitely get your money's worth because this game is pretty long and will take you a good time to beat. Twilight Princess is a fantastic effor by Nintendo to emulate the magic of Ocarina of Time. It may not have that initial magic we all felt when we played the N64 masterpiece for the first time, but Twilight Princess comes as close as any game can come to perfection.
If you give zelda less then 5 I WILL BEAT YOU SENSELESS!

My first zelda game was Link to the past (LTTP) and since then there has been no looking back. Being the flagship product of this franchise, LTTP laid the foundation of the series which will go as one of the best series in gaming history. This was followed by Ocarina of time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, which are a testimonial for this series.
Twilight Princess is another addition to this delightful series of action, adventure, puzzle solving journey. You begin as a young kid in a peaceful village helping your fellow villagers in daily chores. Then as the story develops, you find yourself in search for your friends in the twilight realm . From here, you can be rest assured for a wonderful 40+ hours of entertainment. There are some flaws like slow beginning, frustrating puzzle solving (But this is much simpler than other games in the series) and some veterans in this franchise may find that the content is very similar to previous games in the series.
The control is pretty intuitive, but over a period can be bugging when you face a lot of enemies. The game is riddled with a lot of side quests which are pretty good. I love the western theme based hidden village which is a reminiscence of the spaghetti western classics. Talking about music, you will be spellbound by the wonderful music by some of the best musicians in Nintendo. This game is a definite must for all Wii owners. Finally, I must appreciate Amazon.com as I got it through the gold box offer that they promote. It was also delivered within a week.
