AMAZING!

This is an an exciting new installment to the Legend of Zelda series. It is well worth the buy. Sometimes it can get a little too trickey but if you don't overlook things while palying RPG's, it won't be so hard. Do not go by the rating of this game. The case says it is rated T for animated blood and cartoon violence/violence. There is no blood at all. This game would be perfectly fine for even an eight year old.

This is a the best Zelda game out there so that's why it's soo populer.

Fun, but not as good as past efforts

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is one of the most mature titles to date. It adds a very cool gimmick to the game - Link, the main character, has the ability to trn into a wolf. He must stop the evil dark world and save his world in the process. Personally, I felt Twilight Princess was a very good game, but I prefer Zelda: Wind Waker, which was available on the Gamecube. All Zelda games are good, but I felt Twilight Princess didn't bring anything new to the table, like the other games in the past have done. The controls are good, the graphics are decent, and that's really much it. I highly recommend this if you're a fan of Zelda but by now you should know most Zelda games are very similiar, just slightly different in environment and puzzles.

Great game, but could be much better.

I've been a big Zelda fan since I was a kid. While I've always been okay with the generic Zelda formula in the past, I think that it's about time for Nintendo to re-vamp things a bit. I'm okay with the graphics and controls in Twilight Princess. The main aspect I'd like to see worked on is the story. Let's face it, the storyline of the Zelda series as a whole is a huge contradicting mess. Miyamoto claims that they all tie in together. But the more Zelda games that are released, the more I realize that continuity really isn't their priority. Furthermore, each storyline is pretty much the same...or at least they all feel the same. I want to see romance, intriguing characters, depth. I want to see a complex story more along the lines of a Final Fantasy game. The way things are going right now, the series is getting mundane fast.

I like the dungeons. The Zelda series has always been about puzzle-filled dungeons. But I found that some of the most fun I had in this game were the little side quests, such as the chase scene on horseback and the part where you protect the wagon from attack. I want to see more of that kind of stuff. Those moments were a huge breath of fresh air from the same old grind, but they were too few and far between.

I know most of this review (if you can even call it that) just seems like a negative rant...which it mostly is. Sorry about that. On a whole, I enjoyed Twilight Princess. I especially like how you could use the Wii remote to aim your shots. While I do classify this as a great game, it really could be better. I really hope they decide to take a different approach in the future.

Must Have Game

Let me put it simply. THIS GAME ROCKS! It contains so many great and mind blowing elements that it is impossible to capture and describe in something so unsignificant as a review like this. What I can say however, is this. If you are on the verge of buying the game but just aren't sure if you want to buy it,just go with your gut and BUY IT, NOW! Trust me on this one, YOU WANT THIS GAME. You'll be missing out on far too much if you don't buy the game. So, make the right choice, quit being indecisive, and buy the game. Quit reading reviews, weighing the possibilities and desperately trying to hold on to your precious money, and purchase the game of the century. What are you waiting for? BUY IT NOW! Why are you still reading? STOP READING! BUY THE GAME! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! Not buying this game will be a major mistake on your part! STOP DADDLING AND GO WITH YOUR GUT! STOP READING! STOP READING THIS INSTANT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! QUIT BEING AN IDIOT, STOP READING THIS NOW, AND MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION! HOW MUCH MORE NEED I TELL YOU THIS?! THIS GAME WILL REMAIN, A TREASURE, IN YOUR HEART AND FOREVER IN YOUR AS THE DECIDEDLY BEST WII GAME TO GRACE THE CONSOLE (WITH THE ONLY EXCEPTION OF SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL MAYBE) AND TO GRACE YOUR PRESCENCE AS WELL! BUT IT NOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW!

I received this game for Christmas, and not being a previous Zelda fan, I didn't know what to expect. I was suprised to find it very intriguing! The plot is that a young boy named LINK is living a farmboy's life, waiting for adventure. Then one day, a strange monkey drags a little child into the woods, forcing Link to save him, and be sucked into an adventure he never dreamed of.
I believe this game puts the Wii to very good use. You will fish, heard cattle, fight with your sword, use your slingshot, and boomerang. This game attracts a broad audience of users. Not only because of the way that slayed enemies disappear into a puff of smoke, but also because of the cool "sense" feature you experience during the middle parts of the game.
In conclusion, I loved The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess!! You will have so much fun playing it!!

Take a Trip Back 10 Years

I will start off by saying that despite be mostly negative about this game, it is still fun to play. However, from an adventure game perspective, Twilight Princess falls way short of other epic adventure games released on last-gen game consoles, let alone next-gen. I believe this game has been highly overrated by players and critics alike because they are trying to justify the long wait in their minds. They have also given it special dispensation because it is a Zelda game. I, on the other hand, hold the designers to a higher standard because it is a Zelda game, and therefore, have to admit that I am mostly disappointed with this title.

Graphics - Early Game Cube quality at best. Even draw-in on some objects is worse than older GTA games on the PS2. It is painfully obvious that this title was designed for the Game Cube and was way behind schedule, and therefore, an allowance or requirement for a Wii-port. I think for those claiming that the graphics are great are comparing them to the 10 year-old technology of Ocarina of Time, which really isn't an objective assessment. Since the Wii is supposed to have twice the horsepower of the first XBOX, I should at least see XBOX 1 quality graphics. Most games on the XBOX 1 graphically blow this game away. Certainly even the higher end PS2 games are superior in graphics quality.

Game Play - What is up with still utilizing Z-camera reset? Holy smokes I feel like I am playing Mario 64. You do get used to the controls after awhile, especially if you just played OoT or M64 on the VC, but why? The controls still feel a little sloppy and not even incrementally tighter than OoT. Why do I still have to go into a "first-person" mode to look around when 3rd person action titles have allowed full camera control for years now?

Story - Though hokey at times, the story has a more welcome darker edge. Still, nothing new here. You start out as young Link in the forest and you still have to visit the Gorons. For goodness sake they couldn't have come up with something new? The transformation to a wolf, though looking cool, is pretty gimmicky with little substance in its deployment of fetch and puzzle missions.

Sound - OMG, they still utilized MIDI technology. I have to wonder whether this was purposely done for nostalgia sakes. I am ok with a lack of voice-acting as employing Japanese voice actors usually results in horrible outcomes; but they could have used orchestrated music. This is a Zelda title after all, which usually means plenty of innovation. In fact, I started up OoT on the VC the other day and have to say that the MIDI music in that 10 year-old title is better.

Overall, it seems that the designers used the actual OoT game engine from 10 years ago, refined it a bit, and made it passable on a Game Cube. It is certainly not passable by next-gen standards in any shape or form. You can't say that the Wii isn't capable of next-gen technology either. Start up Mario Galaxy and you will see what I am talking about. I still recommend playing this game, as it is fun and engaging, especially if you don't mind 10 year old game technology. See if you can buy it used. It's not worth full price.

zelda is awesome. my dad and i play the game together all the time and we never get bored. he is 45 and i am 7 and we have a blast playing it. it is very challenging and takes time to get thru but it is worth it. you get to see yourself as a boy and then a warrior and a wolf and somethings we haven't gotten to yet. everybody will like it, i think, because it has alot of action but it is scary some of the time with monsters--especially in twilight. we have a wii and many other games (olympics, carnival, sims, spiderman, star wars, spongebob) and we all like zelda the best, and wii sports. all my friends love this game when they see and play it--like sylas, david, and ian. my friend hunter gets whiny when we play. i am 7 and if you buy only one game this is the one to get. we got a book about zelda for xmas and it really helps when you get stuck so i think you should get that too.

Great Fun, Quite a Challenge

I am the son of Gregory. I got the game shortly after purchasing my Wii, which we waited in line for (gooood times). I had never played a Zelda game before, and I always thought it was nerdy. I soon realized that Zelda is the Vice President, as Mario is the President, of the Government of Nintendo Games. Wow, I know, but it's true. I am an expirienced video gamer, and I got some pretty sweet skills, haha. I was up for a challenge, and I got what I wanted. It is a pretty hard challenge, and I love it! BEWARE: Do not use your water bombs when you get them, save them to break the underwater boulder! P.S. The graphics will amaze you!!

If you liked Ocarina Of Time, buy this game!

There's not a lot that I can tell you that you haven't already read somewhere before. Twilight Princess is fun and very well thought out.
I am a relative late-comer to Zelda games. My first was Ocarina Of Time. I'm hooked on 3-D. There is depth of reality you just don't get in 2-D. This is a first-class 3-D game.
We first bought this game in the GameCube version bacause we didn't yet have a Wii. Loved that version and played it for numerous hours.
When we got the Wii, I wanted to try the game with the controller that you Swing like a Sword! What could be cooler than that?
Nothing!!! It's the greatest feeling of accomplishment when you cut down those horrible creatures who are trying to Kill you. Vicious little beasties!
Confession time. I need a guide. Can't play without one. I go as far as possible, then need help. This game is complex, with many side games and quests. You don't have to do everything to succeed, but you increase your carrying capacity of items, like arrows, if you search out the side games.Plus you become more comfortable with the surroundings and equipment.
You've probably read that you are a wolf during parts of the game. It is enjoyable because you can really get even with the bag guys when you can bite them!
I've always enjoyed adventure games more than gorey ones. Though there are places in this game that put your heart rate up, you play a lot in the defense mode. So, you feel you are not the one Causing harm. In between battling the Bosses and trying to Not Get Killed, you can go fishing and bug-hunting.
Once you gain confidence, you go to the areas that were scary the first few times through. You can take these guys!
Twilight Princess is an addictive game and you will want to play it. Every day. Of course, that is true of all good games, I think.
Try this one and see if you don't agree.

Oops!?! They did it again

Now I know I'm going to het a lot of people angry, but this game is kind of boring. It's like every other Zelda game, and for all the time it took to get out I thought it'd better. I mean my wife asked me if this was the same game as the last Zelda. "No boat this time honey , now you have a horse." Don't get me wrong the Zelda games are charming little tales of adventure, but at this level may be something more original should have been created. The only thing that saved this game was the Wii interactive controller. That made a 1 star game in to a 3 star game. It looks good, sounds good, plays okay, but at this point it should be great. May be I should have bought an Xbox 360 and Morrow World?
