I'm 26 years old and spent most of my college career playing TM2, so when I heard the original developers of the TM series were coming out with a new installment I started saving my pennies. The day it came out I was online getting it sent to my home. When it arrived I sat down and took a moment. I was nervous to see if all the anticipation was going to pan out. Rarely do things live up to such high expectations, but I can honestly say TM: Black lived up to mine.
It's weekness are a little slow down,...... I honestly can think of no others. It really is that good. I know it has been said many times, but it really is not a game for kids. I think they would enjoy the game play, but some of the stories are a little over the top.
This is the best game I have played on any system. So I recommend it without hesitation. All you have to loose is a lot of sleep.
TMB is back! WOW!!

The series is back and better then ever! The game is awsome in every way! You wont be disapointed. 2 player co-op is great! 1 player is great! If you liked the 2nd twisted metal game than you will love this one its meaner, tougher, Just plain great.

Twisted Metal Black was so hardcore that when i first played it (i was about 8) i was afraid of it.But i got older and figured out the it was a realy good game.

It's been nearly seven years since I first played this game and after playing Twisted Metal: Head On-Extra Twisted Edition I just needed to get this game again.
This game is much darker than previous Twisted Metals' in both appearence and presentation. The characters aren't cartoony and tongue in cheek like in Twisted Metal 2 but they're rather macabre and disturbed. Just about all of them comes from a mental asylum that looks like something out of Batman.
The levels are very dark as well. The game returns to the familar city atmosphere used in Twisted Metal 1 but gives it a paint job of blood and black that makes everything look decayed and dying.
Gameplay is tight as hell and is a major relief after the disaster that was Twisted Metal 3 and 4's "true physics" that Sony thought was a great idea but turned out to be a horror show on wheels.
Familar favorites return: Yellow Jacket, Darkside, Outlaw, Mr. Grimm, Shadow, Axel, Warthog, Sweet Tooth, Minion, Spectre and Roadkill; while new comers Manslaughter, Brimstone, Junkyard Dog and Crazy 8 join the Twisted Metal universe.
This game is a masterpiece from beginning to end and should be in EVERY PS2 owners game collection.

Most likely the last good twisted metal you'll ever see. After buying Twisted Metal Head On, I had to go back and buy this to make sure I didn't just enjoy TM when I was a kid, and I was right this ones great, but the new one blows.

I was a huge fan of the original Twisted Metal games, but this one is just ridiculous. A fundamental flaw in the game is the car acceleration rates. One second you have a car in your sights, and the next that car has apparently jumped into warp speed and has disappeared from the screen. The game is impossible to play with this flaw.
i see a red door and I want it painted black....

Awesome with great replay value. Type of game you can pick up and play in short bursts or spend a weekend unlocking everything. Includes a co-op mode.
