The Best Game for PS2 yet!

I had never been a Twisted Metal fan because the games never were too exciting to me but Twisted Metal Black is truely an exception. The sound and graphics are top-notch, as is everything else about it. I sure it's a must have for any Twisted Metal fan but is worth getting even if you're not.

Flawless.

This game is awesome, from graphics (which usually doesn't matter to me) to character design. A distinct improvement over 3& 4(like you won't notice!), but I still think 2 is the best (don't ask why) though. Gameplay has less blood than the others, and it doesn't show that much gore in the FMVs (with the grusome scenes, it makes you imagine the gore! TThink of punching someone in the face with a boxing glove... with medical knives taped to it.) Yes, very dark and disturbing, but unlike the other Twisted Metals (including 2), the characters, actually ARE charcters! If you don't get what I mean is that there is plot and character development. But nonetheless, rent it first to see if you enjoy it (and can handle it!)

The TM we've been waiting for

Solid as TM2. Slightly easier than TM3. The originaltity of the first TM. Not as ...easy... as TM4. Storylines are creepier than the other 4 TM's. Graphics are awesome and the movies are absolutely unreal, as well as the character development. Mr. Grimm and Spectre are still present with different characters, but same vehicles, only more souped up. Thank God that EA didn't make this one.

The Twisted Answer to Gran Turismo 3

If you are like me, you get bored with the same old thing quickly. Sure Gran Turismo 3 is a great game, but what do the explosion thirsty rebels play with? Twisted Metal: Black! The classic shooter perspective game is back in a form that breathes a breath of fresh air into the "thus-far" Playstation2 hum-drum game selection library. It has all of the classic elements working in synchro with a visually marvelous game. Point at it, and you can blow it up. The handling of the vehicles is almost photographic. It puts you right behind the wheel. This is the "Tony Hawk" of destruction derby.

I have to say I was suprised to see how great this game was when it came out on PS2. I thought it wasn't going to be that good but it proved me wrong. First of all, this game has a lot better graphics than the previous Twisted Metals. It also has an awesome dark score to keep you interested instead of annoying background music. Secondly, this is a lot more challenging. The enemies remain challenging and are never impossible to beat. The only tough enemies are the bosses and I find the bosses very challenging. The other amazing upgrade to this game are the interactive battlegrounds. Unlike all the other Twisted Metals if you went in to get health in a small area and stayed there the walls wouldn't slam into each other and crush you. But in this one there are tons of traps. Also, you can shoot down planes and get health from helicopters. Now, here's the reason I gave this game 4 stars. This game is awesome don't get me wrong but the only bad thing is the health. When you are about to die and succesfully dodge all those enemies that are chasing after you your already dead. Then, when you finaly get health you don't gain alot of it. That's like the only bad thing about the game and that's why I give it 4 stars. If you like Twisted Metal and have a PS2 then I say get Twisted Metal Black because this game has alot of other new features than the previous. Enjoy the challenge!

This game is deffinately awesome. It is one of the best games on playstation 2 yet. There are great graphics, great storyline, great gameplay, cool characters, all you need and want in a game. One bad thing is that when you are playing, they could make the other cars kill/attack eachother more. They attack eachother once in a while, but never kill eachother. It is also a very hard game, which i like. There are so many games that have awesome gameplay and graphics and everything, but take an hour to beat, which isn't worth $50.This game is. The game goes like this: All of the characters are in a psychiatric ward, than this guy calypso busts them out if they join his competition, and if they win calypso will grant them whatever they want. Overall, one of the only games worth paying 50$ for, BUY IT!!!

Haven't been a big fan of the earler Twisted Metals, the gamepaly on the playstation was never that good I felt. After the release of Twisted Metal Black and lots of viewing of screen shots,I felt they finally tapped into what they wanted to do along time ago, with the PS2 they have the capability to keep your attention ,the areas of combat are superb, and many have hidden secrets so make sure to blow up what you can you will be very suprised. The story is definatley not geared to kids which is a breath of fresh air, more games for adults need to be put out on the market, bravo to the developer of the story line as it keeps me wanting to learn about all the drivers and what their finall reward will be.

when i heard that there was going to be another twisted metal game, i thought 'great. just what we need. another disapointment, this time with improved graphics'. then i saw some previews, and they were all very positive. they talked about how the characters had histories and how you see their sick and twisted past. i was starting to think more optamistically. so, i decided to get the game. i could not put it down. i was just sucked into the twisted metal universe... i felt sorry for some of the characters. the movies were cool (but, be warned, there is blood and violence). it was such a great game, i did not want to put down the controller even to sleep. i would DEFINATELY suggest this game to anyone who likes stories of characters and more importantly to see things blow up!

AN ACTION PACKED GAME!!!!

When I first rented this game i thought that it was just going to be like those other Twisted Metal's for Playstation, but it really wasn't. Twisted Metal Black has such good graphics its unbelievable, but the graphics aren't the only good part about this game. The players are awesome and its really a challenging game to play. There are different modes you can play that will give you hours of fun.. If you are thinking about buying this game, you will have to have patience because it takes a pretty long time to kill your opponents. Even though this is the only bad thing about this game just remember that you can always cheat and you can finish the game alot easier. I recommend this game to anybody that loves action packed games...

There should be a 6th star for this game

Alright, so far this is my favorite out of all the Twisted Metals, I even have 1 in the oldskool case that they used for like the first 3 months. This game is very gloomy, and the only part i find to gory for kids is the story mode. Regular things like 2 player deathmatch and 1 player deathmatch are just like any other shooting game. But the atmostphere will always be completely dark. I like how the play control is fast and smooth and it had a pretty good soundtrack for a video game. This is one of my favorite games out right now and i would reccommend it for people over 10 or so.
