Best of Twisted Metal

Twisted Metal black has to be the best one ever made. Each character has a story behind why he wants to win. I must say the stories are probably the best part of the whole game. Most endings will blow you away. The graphics are intense. It's a little difficult getting used to in the begining but well worth my money. If your still skeptic, try renting it first. After all if so many people give this game five stars it can't be all that bad.

Buy this game before it is too late!!

Now that the game is less than twenty bones, it is a downright steal for any game, let alone one for the PS2./

As a big fan of Twisted Metal, I have been dissapointed with previous versions. Twisted Metal 2 World Tour was by far the best one going. Twisted Metal Black smashes that great game in every way.

InCog brought back the fun game play. What made previous Twisted Metal games lame was that designers tried to make the cars handle in a realistic way and all that did was make the game dull. Going back to a winning formula, InCog did away with that and made the cars act more game-like, i.e. you can turn your car around while it is in mid air.

The game plays at a blazing speed that I had difficulty with at first, but after a few practice rounds the game is pure fun. While they game is not too easy, it is not terribly difficult to get through with some practice. There is tremendous reply value. After completing a level, you are sometimes given the option to choose the next level you encounter and each level has its own secrets to discover. Not to mention a lot of characters to choose. (But the left my man, Thumper, out).

Throw in a muli-tap and you and three pals can blast the bejeezus out of each other.

The game runs so smooth, and the graphics are stunning. The weather and lighting effects really show off the potential of the PS2 . The best level is Prison Passage. You begin locked inside a ship, eventually you fight your way on to the decks. There you can see the water crashing over the bow. Go up on the top deck, you see a land approaching, a draw-bridge raises as the ship docks. All this happens fluidly while you are driving around. It is very impressive.

Do yourself a favor and get this game. Its perfect for those quick gaming sessions, and it is blast when you have company.

I tried really hard to get used to the controls in this game it just didn't happen for me, it takes me about an hour to beat one level not sure if this is normal but even though it takes me that long I still have fun doing it. The game is difficult and I like any game that is difficult. The graphics and audio are nice and the whole gothic theme really adds to the carnage.

Twisted Metal: Black alomg with THQ's Red Faction are and will be the two best PS2 games out for a while. TMB with its top-notch graphics and two player co-op mode makes this game very unique. After the disappointments of TM3 and TM4, TMB utilizes the PS2 and restores the Twisted Metal series to the same success it once had.

Twisted Metal Black is AWESOME. If you want a game with insane lunatics in cars blowing the crap out of each other this game is for you. The graphics are amazing, its more challenging than the other ones and they have rated M cutscenes( Dont let little kids play this game, seriously, some parts are nasty)In a nutshell, the best seller of the summer, definatley. And it has a more involved plot than the other ones.THIS GAME IS A MUST FOR PS2! GET IT NOW!!!!!!!!

I'm going to forego my usual in-depth reviews for this game. We all know what Twisted Metal is and this is nothing more than a rehash of those same games. Here's why:

Pros:

Excellent Graphics
Cool Mini-movies
Endurance & Challenge levels are interesting
Good to pass time with

Cons:

Short game with small levels
Repetitious gameplay
Boring endings to each character
Same old rehash of earlier TM games
Not enough "total-destruction" of buildings and such for this type of game.

If you want to be "burned-out" by a game, I recommend "Burnout, Test Drive, and Twisted Metal: Black." Not worth the money. A renatal at best.
