Reveloutionized the PS2? Yeah, right

Okay, after a game has been in development for this long (3 years) you would expect it to be decent, right? Nope, not in this case.

Ill get the good out of the way first. Its biggest strength is that the game is pretty. There are lots of cool explosions and some pretty spiffy bullet effects, all while running at a very smooth framerate. The control isin't too bad ethier for the Playstation2 controller, although not on par with Goldeneye's aim. There is also alot of variety in the gameplay, which is like a breath of fresh air every now and then.

Now for the bad. My biggest problem with the game is the enemy AI. It's horrible. I mean really really awful. Poop on a stick is smarter than these guys. For example, one mission you go under cover, and your not supposed to be spotted. So what do the guards do when they spot you? Look at you stupidly for a couple of seconds, fire a few shots, stand in front of the alarm for 30 seconds, THEN hit the alarm. Its like they are just asking you to make one clean shot in the head, its that bad. Never expect a real fight when you face one on one with them. Heck the only time it becomes a real challenge is when they are in numbers.

Another problem, I beat the game in 6 hours. Yes, 6 freaking hours. As if the game wasn't easy enough, its over in a weekend of playing it. I am very glad I only rented the title, otherwise I would be seriously dissapointed with the game.

And it's not like the multiplayer saves the day ethier. It tries really hard to be like Goldeneye, only its a completely different engine, so it would have been wise to devise a new style of deathmatch, instead of trying to recreate Rare's masterpiece. The result is an easy, less tactical, and overall less fun multiplayer, with weak levels too. The "autoaim" makes the entire thing pointless , just to make sure there will be billions of cheap plays by your friends.

The frequent loading times, annoying repition of the theme (it's not THAT great) and ... story (this wouldn't even work in a Bond movie) makes me wonder if EA can ever make a decent Bond game. It saddens me everyone else is so pysched about this game too. There are such better PS2 games out there, and to consider this one to be the "best" is a joke.

HORRIBLE

I've only once played the game James Bond 007 Agent Under Fire, but that was enough for me to know it was one of the stupidest games ever made. It totally (stinks), it's boring, the graphics (stink), the object of this game is mean ,dumb, ignorant , and down right horrible. the violence is gruesome. I don't know why you would wont to play this game?
compaired to Sly Cooper it doesn't even come close.
in my opinion this game (stinks).

I would have used other words to describe this game but the guide lines wouldn't have allowed it, TOO BAD.

Don't buy this game, never ever!

This game really (@#)!!! I never liked FPS on video games consoles but this game is stupid! In this kind of games, using the controller is difficult. I am not saying that all the FPS (*&@!), like Medal of Honor it was a FPS for PSX and I really like it, it was hard but worth to buy.
But 007 agent under fire, I think is the worst game in FPS I have ever seen. First of all, is a very easy game, they will tell you what to do all the time, it means that you don't really have to think in this game. Other thing that I hate about this game is there is always that stupid sound(bond theme) every time you kill someone or do something.
I can believe that some people say that it is the best PS2 game!! There are others that even compare this game to Metal Gear 2.
If you are a real gamer you will just waste your money in this (@#*!)!

You should buy this if you like really (...) games.

Yet another horrible rip off of the goldeneye. The missions are boring and obnoxious. The multiplayer is quite poor. The graphics are not even very good. After playing this game for an hour, I will never play it again. Nobody should waste (dollar amount) on this drek.

This is nothing compared to the other Bond games. Ever since EA took over the franchise, it has gone downhill. What's up with the guns...they fire little white streaks that move at 20 mph.

The single player is bland. Everywhere you go, the game tells you exactly what to do with these big flashing green outlines.

I also tried the multiplayer. Not good. I played it for a few minutes, then went back to Goldeneye. This game should have never made it to development.

A suckable senseless shootem up

My brother beat this game for a friend it is horrible. The enemies are dumb the gameplay is easy and unchallenging. My brother got up to the halfway point of the game in like 1 and a half hour. The story does not deserve the title of bond. I thought this might be a good game. The shooting enemeis is like shooting poorly made slow robots with pittiful IQ.

Pros: Great graphics
A wide supply of gadgets
Cons: Pittiful Enemy AI
Car missions are reppetetive
Very short

Very Easy
Horrible story
Boring Gameplay
Isn't faithful to bond's style
Combat is Basicly shooting slow and dumb enemies
Bad gun design
Average Multi Player

Flush your money down the toilet...

Flat out, this game sucks. It is absolutely no fun. I have owned it since Christmas and it would be a miracle if I've played it more than 15 minutes total. My friends just threw it in 10 minutes ago, and I swear that one of them fell out of their chair and is sleeping on the floor. I'm suprised I've held onto this long. If you've ever played Perfect Dark or Goldeneye, you will be extremely dissapointed. The 2 player mode is just so boring and slow, not to mention it is no fun at all. The best thing about Perfect Dark was the mayhem--this game is lacking it in every way possible. If you could play with bots (as in PD) it might be a different story. If you want one-player action, get Metal Gear Solid 2, and for 2-player, get Twisted Metal Black. I can think of 20 games out right now that I would take over this one. I kept PD in my 64 for at least 2 years straight, and it never got old. This game was stale the second I had a mental lapse and actually took it out of the wrapper.

I had espected that the newest installment of James Bond would be able to top the best one yet, The World Is Not Enough. I'm sorry to say that I was wrong. Let's see what this game does right, and what this game does wrong.

Gameplay (2/5)
The single player mode is the absolute worst of all James Bond games. It isn't based on a movie, which in itself is a good idea. Apparently, the developers decided that the less freedom you have and more stiff, straightforward, boring style missions, the better. The levels are WAY too short, lack creativity, and are just plain, mind numblingly dull. The driving parts were equally boring, with only one way to go, one way to do it, and just plain unfun. The multiplayer, unfortunately, is no better. Making bots with characteristics was nice, as was choosing specific weapons the map would have, but the bland, confining, again unimaginitive, dry maps and horrid AI (which will be discussed next) makes the gameplay a big yawn.

AI(1/5)
Even more dissappointing. One by one, moronic security guards would systematically run to his death by my puny KS7 or whatever hell you call it. Snipers get me in their sights, and then decide not to shoot. You could be hiding in a ventilation thingy, hammer the controller for about 5 minutes in order to kill a guard, and the others will be alert for about 10 seconds, then go back to their own buisness, even though one of their buddies mysteriously dropped dead. They don't run for cover. If they even register the fact that you're shooting at them, they will just stand there, marching to their demise. Not fun.

Sound (4/5)
The music, on the other hand, is absolutely terrific. The dialogue and be very corny, though, but other times it can be brilliant.

Graphics (4/5)
Pretty, but the characters run like robots, the explosions and death animations pretty much stink, and for some reason, you don't have hands.

Blech. Let's hope EA improves with Nightfire, or is summarily killed.
