Cool game

This game is very good, but it can be annoying. You have too many things too worry about. And, if you screw up, it can take forever to get back on track.
play-great. Fun and addicting.
music- not so good, but not terrible.
difficulty-can be frustrating if you don't pay good attention.
length- pretty long. It will proboably take you a month to beat.

I have heard people pounding mercilessly on this wonderful game (as I will do now ^_~ lol~) and saying that it's a no good, V. bad game.
Now let me correct them a bit, with pointing out what could have been improved and what was just GREAT!

Graphics: 7/10 - I don't think that this game was meant to have detailed graphics. What it did have was a cartoony aspect to a fantasy world, and beautifully portrayed. Each dungeon has it's own appeal, each character has their own "look". Yup, great graphics, despite it's drawbacks.

Storyline: 6/10 - Now this is debatable, it's sort of like. Villain-mouse-dude destroys world, now must restore. However, then after you complete each town, each city, you are able to talk with each character and it's well thought up.

Weapons: 10/10 - I LOVE the weapon system of Dark Cloud. Sure, repairing weapons again, and again, at the risk of losing this beloved weapon is a bit annoying. Then again, each weapon must be treated with care, so I guess it makes sense. Then, each weapon has it's own "look", a look that unlike Kingdom Hearts of Final Fantasy X, you can view in its own mode. The weakest weapon, can become a weapon of great power, or assist to power up another. Yes, the weapon is a MAJOR part of this game.

Characters: 5/10 - OK, I HATED Ungaga, he couldn't do ANYTHING, (of course if you built him up yeah...) Good, original characters with the exception of Toan, but even he is a bit original.

The specific details - The georama system was GREAT! I doubt that any game has this wonderful approach. Design each town the way you please with some step in's from residents. Weapons ROCK! I can't really explain why. The soundtrack's good, even though the electric guitar is WAY overused. GREAT GAME

Some say no, some say yes. This is a superb game if you didn't expect it to compare with FFX, though it could get in line with 9. The only thing I dont like about this game is that it needs to focus more on the Georama and the dungeon-crawling and the repetitiveness. I personally like it better than zelda, because i cant get past the Deku tree because i'm scared of Queen Ghoma. I'm a chiken when it comes to spiders and dark, watery underground places. The graphics are pretty good, but the camera angling can creaye a problem, especially in Dark heaven castle. Animi on the charectaers is really good in my opinion, like Selda (i think that's his name), who is REALLY CUTE!!! and toan, who'sponcho actually flutters around. Lighting is not great. torches dont affect toan's shadoe whatsoever. But at least its not dark and scary:). Most people would say that no, DC cant compare with Zelda, but I happen to disagree. I think it is a great game hat cant compare to FFX (Just got it a couple of days ago, so im a total nut!) :8 P.S.(2 really rocks)I'm a girl-gamer, by the way.

This is the easiest game ever. its is so repetitive. its not hard at all. you do the same thing on every floor on a level. Its like reliving the same day 17 days in a row. A big waste of time. I love Zelda and other roleplaying games. Its pretty sweet that you can upgrade weapons, but thats all thats i like.

Dark Cloud, Though i have only gotten to the Second dongeon, Wise Owl forest, it turns out to be alot like the Legend of Zelda: the Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64. The charecters seem to be alike in looks and personalitys (comparing Toan(DK) and Link(zelda). The object is basicly the same.
OVERALL, i would rate this Game for Playstation 2 about a 4 and one half.

This is a fun and original game. Although, after playing for a while it got sorta old. The weapons you carry gain levels instead of you which was neat, but your character has to get items to become more powerful instead of gaining xp from creatures. Also there was no armor to wear which was disappointing. The rebuilding of cities was easy and time consuming. Fun but repetitive.

After owning a playstation2 for around a year I decided it was time to get a new RPG. .. I came across the title, "Dark Cloud." I was extemely happy with what I was seeing and hearing so I bought it. I took it home and began to play. The graphics were soft and smooth. The game has an okay plot- evil guy trying to destroy the world, but still it was alright. This game truly shows what your Ps2 is capable of!

I think that this game is very compariable to Zelda for the N64. If you like Zelda, then you will probably like this game. However, this game gets very boring pretty quick. You will find yourself doing what seems like the same thing over, and over.

If you liked Zelda for the N64, you'll like this game. It's kind of kid-friendly as far as graphics and characters, but the gameplay gets pretty deep when reconstructing the towns. It's a fun, light-hearted rpg that you get your $ worth from.

Darkcloud is one of my faviorte games it has a high re play value and is worth checking out .It can be confusing at times but fun the game has 6 unkiqe charecters and sony did a excelent job on this game you rebuild your world with pieces called alta and meet new people on the way i would say the yellow drops round when you meet osmand is not that much fun but i garente you will injoy it...
