This game is good , but....

If you are a fan of the Zelda adventures of N64, Final Fantasy, and other RPG fantasy games this is the game for you. But...there is one draw back...Your character is always whining for something...(not literally mind you)...He always needs food or water to recharge his enegry meter or (and here comes the dosy)...His damn weapon breaks and you need to either locate a new weapon or fix it which requires money and your wallet starts out with not a single coin to spare. The only way you can get a coin or two is if you kill a dugeon beasty and if you keep busting your sword you will simply get noda. well...(take a breath)...if you don't mind that then this is a wonderfully cute little game.

Pros: cute graphics, nice story line
Cons: no cash no food, no cash no weapon repairs

Great game!

When I looked at this game in a gamer magazine i thought it would be just another rpg/actiion game that only has 30+ hours of gameplay(not a bad amount of time but I was expecting more for a Playstaion2 game for 50 dollars). When I started playing it I was amazed. I thought to myself that this game would be the like the Ocarina of time for N64 (since that was one of the most popular games for that system at the time). Anyway I'll talk about the gameplay. First of all, this game is half RPG and half Action/Adventure. To increase your health in this game you must find the Fruit of Eden which will increase your health by 10hp. Your weapon has hp also. Your main Character also has defense and a thirst meter which can be increased also. There are also attributes of magic that can be put into your weapon and attachments that help you conquer the enemys that you are fighting (Beast Breaker, Stone Breaker, Plant Breaker ect.) In dungeons, you can find parts of your area village that the Fairy king sealed up when the Dark Genie (The bad guy in this game) destroyed your village and you must find all the sealed parts to restore your world and make a better one. That pretty much covers it. Buy this game and enjoy it. :)

This has to be simply the best PS2 RPG so far. It has all of the pieces to make it one of the highest quality games on any platform. Art is phenominal, gameplay is smooth, top quality story line, excelent mix of realtime fighting and RPG story and piles of new ideas mixed into the makeup of the game. if it was possible I would have given it more than 5 stars.

DARK CLOUD IS ONE OF THE BEST RPGS I HAVE PLAYED IT. GRAPHICALY IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. I CAN SAVELY SAY THAT THAT IT IS A GOOD BUY IF YOU LIKE RPGS BUT FOR YOU PEOPLE THAT DONT LIKE RPGS YOU PROUBLY NOT LIKE THIS GAME. IT HAS ITS FALTS BUT HOW CAN YOU BLAME IT, IT IS THE FRIST RPG ON PS2, FFX IS YET TO COME...

AND IN MY OPINION STAR OCEAN: 2ND STORY FOR PSX IS THE BEST RPG OUT THERE OVER 1000ITEMS,12 PEOPLE AVALABLE TO BE IN YOUR PARTY,COOKING,PRETTY COOL BATTLE SYSTEM, AND OVER 47 ENDINGS.

Best PS2 RPG game Yet!!!

Whoo... I've been struggling a lot of times to find good PS2 game. Since it came out recently and there's not many games for it, it was hard for me to find a good game. But all those struggles ended when I saw a playstaion magazine cover in a game store, showing "First Must Buy PS2 RPG."

I read the aticle of the Dark Cloud in the magazine I saw and purchased it about a week later. When I started the game, there was only one building in the town. I was quite surprised at first. But as I went on and got some more artifects and better weapons, I fell in love with this game.

The first compliment I have to say about this game is that it mixed wide varity of genre very well. It is filled with some very interesting puzzles and mini games. It has kind of unique system of allies and weapons, too. But the most interesting part about this game is the simulation part. You get to build your own town. It's really cool. Some gamers might find it boring than the action part of the game. But it gives more deep feelings to this game.

This game sure gave me very exciting game play in a long while. But there are some important reasons that i didn't gave this game 5 stars. Most of this game is fighting. Even though there are some minigames and puzzles throughout the game, you'll find yourslef tired of fighting monsters in dongeon. You'll have to keep moving back and forth from village to dongeon until you find the boss. Another reason is the effect of Zelda serous. I mean, Dark Cloud would be the best RPG right now if there weren't the zelda series.

Overall, this was a great game and I think every PS2 players should play it once. This sure was a phonominal RPG. But I wouldn't mention it the best RPG over the Zelda.

This is a Must for your PS2 Library

This is my first real RPG, and I love it. I admit sometimes it can become repetitive, but it is still cool.

Simply Delightfully Worderful

This game was simply delightfully wonderful. I loved it more than Zelda (all of them). I liked it more than sim city too. It was also better than all fishing games. Even all of these together would not match powerness of Dark Cloud. (Dark cloud has all of these in it preety much). It would even be better if it was more like the SIms. You would be able to build thir houses yourself, then place them. You would also be able to control your family members. This is just an idea, but it would be great if Dark Cloud II had this feature included in its perpetual memory.

If you enjoy Zelda and have a PS2 buy it.

I would definitely buy the game if you like a "non-classical" type RPG. Dark Cloud takes Zelda and adds in a little sim city. When your actually finding the pieces of the city the game is incredible, but when your just trying to open new passages in dungeons the game does get old. I especialy enjoyed that you can play as different characters.

This game s exactly like the Zelda series. If you like Zelda, then you will definetly like this game. The intro graphics are poor, but the game rocks. I suggest that you buy this game if you enjoy role playing games. This is one of the best besides the fantastic Final Fantasy Series. Hope you enjoy it.
