A nice game but not long lasting.

A good game with good graphics however the gameplay gets boring after the first 3 areas. The gist of the story doesn't change much and without the new characters it would get boring really easily. Once all the characters have been unlocked and weapons have been enhanced things just don't seem as magical as they were to begin with. But there are a few little extras that can be found but once I got a good character with a good weapon I used him all the time. Training the other characters just seems boring. A nice buy, but no way to the standards of Baldors Gate or Final Fantasy.

I rented this game after renting a few other great games for PS2 and after I've seen this game advertised as a PS2 "Greatest Hit". The storyline is decent, but the characters don't talk when the words appear--that was a bummmer. The graphics are excellent and the music is nice and pretty much like most RPGs. The character design is different and pretty cool. When you begin, you can't do any attacks or combo jumps or anything. That kind of surprised me. The worst part is that your weapons can rupture and that you lose lives very quickly if you're not very careful. Still, I'll give this game a better chance, but for now, I stand by my rating.

Games that I highly recommend are SLY COOPER, THE SIMPSONS ROAD RAGE, KINGDOM HEARTS (a great RPG experience), CRASH BANDICOOT (not just one--all of them!), and THE SIMPSONS SKATEBOARDING.

the game Dark cloud is just amazing it has a great story sensationally fun and a great flow going by. its also so fabulous its just like Zelda but with a different twist to it . my suggestion is deffinetely go buy it.

If you like going through endless random generated dungeons and having your swords break often just after you get them built up, then this is a game for you.

Definitely worth [$$].

I was looking for an RPG in the N64 Zelda style to play on my PS2. This game is fun but falls far short of the Link series. The strength of the Zelda games on the N64 was the combination of first person fighting with the complicated puzzles both in the dungeons and in the worlds themselves. As for Dark Cloud - the fighting is similar in style to the Zelda games but significantly better and the sound and graphics are impressive, but the game itself is not complicated enough for my taste. I ultimately spent more time beating Dark Cloud, but only because the dungeons are extremely long and repetitive.

This game is great if you are 12. Anyone older than that should look elsewhere. It is just the same thing, over and over and over and over.....and over again. Don't waste your money on this one.

Dark Cloud is a great game. It is like Nintendo's Zelda but a lot better. It is also a lot like Sim City.

You are a charecter named Toan and you must restore the world by recieveing the alta scattered arround dungeons. After recieveing the alta you must rebuild cities. Toan meets many charecters that will join and help you on your quest.

(In dungeons, watch out that you weapondosent break or elese you will lose the weapon you worked so hard to buil up)
