I have no idea what game those people were playing who gave Medal of Honor more than 1 star. I am assuming they were intoxicated or otherwise handicapped. This is EASILY, the absolute worst 1st person shooter I have ever played. The graphics are blocky, and just all around quite poor. Also the game is too linear. You can't just walk around anywhere. You have to follow the small path the game gives you. I, unfortuantely, read the first review, went out and bought this supposed fantastic game. Do yourself a favor and heed my warning: DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BUY THIS GAME. Not only are the graphics poor, but the game is nothing more than walking through a glorified maze were Nazis are milling around. For example, the first mission consists of finding an airplane and a logbook. You don't even have to search for these items, they are out in the open. The downed airplane conveniently crashes in a circular opening on your path. And no, the clearing wasn't made by the plane crash, that would be too advanced for this game. Once you get into a town don't even think about looking around and exploring, 99% of the doors are window dressing and you are unable to go inside. How a previous reviewer could compare this to Half-Life is beyond me. Half-Life is light years ahead of this total wreck of a game. If anything this game compares most closely to the OLD, OLD Wolfenstein 3D game. In which you shoot Nazis going through a maze during WWII. I felt more like a rodent going through a maze than a gameplayer while plodding through this terrible game. I am envious of the rodent because they, at least, get a piece of cheese at the end of the maze and I am just stuck with Medal of Honor.
Terrible controls

Interesting idea, but after playing for ten minutes, the game movement became very disorientating and confusing. Aiming the rifle is unneccessarily difficult (syphon filter for example). Great idea, but ultimately the headache creating controls are a major negative
boring predictable crap

I have one question. Can you play from the point of view of a german soldier? No you say? Then what in hell is the goddamn point??? If i can't be a mean, grizzled, ss seargant, or a tough fallschirmjager, blasting away at tom hanks looking g.i.'s with an mp-40 in both hands, then i don't want to be anything at all.
peace.

This game is one of the worst i have played yet for the new Dreamcast. The controls are so annoying that I litteraly wanted to give the game back after an hour. I gave it more time but after a week I still wanted to give it back. Do not buy it if you know what is good for you.

When I first heard of a game game that would be a ww2 fps made by dreamworks i was overjoiced. I was anxious to get this game the moment I heard of it.Only to find out that the moment I rented (which i am glad i did)i would be disapointed.I found that the graphics are not on par for a video game of this type. the graphics are very pixeld. It definetly took the enjoyment out of the game for me.Futhermore, the controls are a bit difficult. especially the aiming.I was also quite surprised that it wasnt as realistic as i had hoped. After reading the reviews before i rented it, i had the impression that this game was as close to ww2 as i could get in a video game. In my opinion that was not the case.I dont remember having to shoot a nazi four times just to kill him. and even when i got really close to him and shot a nazi it would just blow his helmet off. When you shoot a guy in the head, helmet or not, the bullet is going to go through. that is realism. and this game is just not it.and the absence of blood really surprised me.I guess it was the combanation of crappy graphics and non realistic gameplay that turned me away from this game. besides my obvious comlaints, i do have some praises for this game. i must say that the sound and effects are some of the best i have ever heard in a videogame. The concept was also one that was fresh and was never looked into untill now.however the gameplay failed. oh well
NOT THE BEST GAME OF THE YEAR!

THIS GAME IS A BLAST AT FIRST BUT ONCE YOU HAVE BEATEN AROUND 4 LEVELS YOU WILL BE BOARD STIFF OF THIS GAME. EVERY LEVEL IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE OTHER. IT IS JUST ANOTHER UNDERCOVER MISSION OBLECTIVES SORTA THING. IF THAT IS THE STYLE YOU WANT THEN GET THE GAME BECAUSE YOU WILL HAVE A BLAST WITH. THE GRAPHICS ARE SO, SO BUT IT ISNT AN ACTION PACKED GAME. THAT IS WHY I GIVE IT ONLY *** ON A SCALE OF 1-5. HOPE THIS REVIEW WAS HELPFUL TO ALL OF YOU AND THANK YOU FOR READING IT.

Play this game with surround sound if you can because the guns, whizzing bullets, voices, dogs, and other sound effects were terrific! The animation of the enemy as they got shot was very well done and even humorous at times. (Try shooting their foot or helmet.) I'm age 41 and found the controls very easy to handle. What I really disliked about this game were: 1. The 3D rendering was really poor-I continuosly saw flickering polygons. 2. The game cheats! Examples: a) a machine gun nest was able to shoot me even though I was directly behind a tree. b) The game will take away pick-ups. For instance, I was able to get through one section unscathed only to get clobbered in the following section. When I returned to the previous section to retrieve a pick-up (e.g., a first aid kit), it was gone. 3. Multiple shots were required to kill the enemy. This is usually okay except when you take the time to align the cross hairs of a high-powered sniper rifle on the enemy's head. In that case, 'one shot, one kill' should apply. If you can afford to buy multiple games, then this is worth buying. If you have to choose just one action/adventure game, definitely choose Syphon Filter instead. Happy New Year.
Good game but not without problems

Medal of Honor is one of the best first person shooter games available, in that it is creative and original. History buffs will enjoy the realistic feel of the game as you explore the various mission zones. Weapons are ample and realistic. Controls are simple and easy to learn. Missions are clearly explained and while challenging, are not frustrating. There is a great deal of variety in each mission too. You'll need to use a combination of firepower and stealth to successfully complete your goal.
The only reason this game did not get higher marks is the unforgivable problem with the graphics. There is alot of camera issues and breakup, which is a huge problem for games of this genre. Also, there is a problem with polygon drop out to the point where all of a sudden you can see through a wall or obstacle, which can really throw you off. Additionally, the replay value of this game is extremely low as there is nothing new to aspire to. If you are really into historic games or first person shooters, then give this game a try. Although, if you want more game for your money, try Medal Gear Solid.
a shooter that will get more respect than it desrves
