This game is the best fighting game I've played. It's a bit weird on some things like the corny music that's played in the beginning, but once you've got a charcter you want to play the music is different for each one and cool.Plus(most fighting games I've played don't have this)all the fighters have a different fighting style which impressed me.I'm very pleased about how this game has balanced their characters. In other words have a lot more girls but the boys do overule. Each player has at least 100 moves which is a lot compared to a Mortal Combat game(not that I'm saying those games are bad).I just wish they put in more hotties like Jacky Bryant and Lion Rafale(well I think they're cute because I'm a girl! and that's what girls think). And then I wish they didn't pit that Vanessa chick.God she's huge ugly and with white hair. This game has really nice graphics just I wish the characters weren't so big.The girls are the ones that scare me.They all almost look as tall as boys and the muscles really fit in(not). This game is quik, very and you really need to have some hand-eye coorination.Well thats what a ture fighting game looks like plus very cool.

I have played many, many fighting games from X-men Mutuant Acedamy 2 to Tekken and everything in between. I have to say Virtua Fighter 4 has everything a good fighting game needs. Each character must have at least one hundred moves+. The characters have such detail its unreal. The gameplay is unbeatable. Buy this game NOW!...

I rented this game it was a lot of fun. It can be played against the computer but is more fun against another person. Its like mortal kombat but have to learn actual moves not just a weapon move to defeat your opponent. It is a game that I will have to eventully have to have.
Excellent !!

Segas fighting game masterpice has arrived on the PS2 fans of the series shouldnt hesitate to purchase. If you are new to the VF series then the game play may be a bit difficult to grasp but the training modes ar eexcellent and will get you up to speed in no time.Make no mistake this is a very hard game to master and truly deserves the title of fighting simulator.

In my opinion, this is the best 3D fighter to date. I've been playing Virtua Fighter games ever since the first one was released. The series has come a long way and now it's stronger than ever. The character graphics are great but the real treat is the amazingly detailed backgrounds. My favorite is the stage with the helicopter. I look forward to more VR games.

Virtua Fighter has made three games on former console Sega Saturn. With out a shadow of a doubt this is the best of them all. However graphics are good but not great. The polygons aren't as well as they say. But that does not stop me from saying this is an excellent game! Buy it if you love fighting simulators!:)
Just like all the others...

I'm still waiting for someone to come out with a fighting game that will take the gameplay to the next level. This is no better and no worse then DOA2, TT, and the others. Just different characters.

YOU BET IT IS!!! This game is not for little kiddies. This game is for the serious minded lover of fighting games. The graphics are excellent, the music fits right in with the game, and the moves are superb. I've played all the Virtua Fighter's before this one. It's nothing the same. Sega took fighting games to a whole new level. It's not an easy game, but who wants an easy game? ...This game takes dedication, dedication only a true lover of fighting games has. It's excellent how the characters leave imprints in the snow as they walk, fall, etc. The moves, once mastered, will be greatly appreciated...
Great Game!!

The game, while at first seemingly simple, is very complex. You can advance through the lower levels of the Kumite mode (basically an endless tournament where you can improve your ranking) by button-mashing, but once you reach the more advanced rankings, button-mashing will get you dealt with in short order. You'll actually have to put some thought into your moves and manuevers. Thankfully, their training mode is very in-depth and will improve your play by leaps and bounds. And with several of the characters having multiple stances (which means a different "library" of moves for each stance), it will take you some time to master a particular character, which adds to the replayablity of the game, in my opinion. Couple that with the fact that you can unlock hundreds of items in the Kumite mode that will let you customize your character (hats, sunglasses, clothes, jewelry, one character even has a motorcycle helmet), you'll soon be hooked. The AI mode is really cool, as well. It lets you coach a character and pit him against CPU controlled opponents (and, I believe, AI's created by friends). The only drawback I can think of is the Arcade mode. Regardless of which character you choose to be, it plays out in the same order, and you do not get any continues once you reach the boss (Dural), which means you get one shot at defeating her. But, once you start playing the Kumite mode, I doubt you'll go back to the Arcade mode. An excellent fighter that deserves to be part of everyone's PS2 library.
If You Haven't Tried It, YOU SHOULD!!!

Virtua Fighter 3 garnered critics high praises from coast to coast and yet it did poorly in the sales charts, falling behind to such staples as Tekken and the (admittedly amazing) Soul Caliber. Don't let that fool you, Virtua Fighter 4 brings a depth and visceral experience yet to be matched on any console. The variety of fighters and complexity of technique employed in this game is amazing. If not overly visually stunning (I still don't think it matches Sould Calibre graphics) it more than makes up with heart-pounding gameplay and a depth not often seen in a console fighter. This game is definitely one to buy. Be ready to pound your friends into submission, and play long, late night hours with the Kumite Mode. If I had three thumbs I'd put them all up for this one.
