Virtual Who?..........

I amdit, I am new to the Virtual Fighter series and after playing
VF4 I don't see what the big hype is about this game. First of all, I played Sarah Bryant and I creamed everyone in the arcade mode with a simple punch combo. The fighters are almost predictable and the moves were almost similar. The last level boss of the arcade mode looks like a liquid terminator with breast and the sad thing is you only get one crack at this dude.
Now I played alot of fighting games and this guy isn't hard as M. Bison for Street Fighter, or True Ogre from Tekken, or Tengu from Dead or Alive.
You would think after fighting your way through 12 fighters you
would get more than one shot at the last boss to at least get a feel about what this guy is all about...

This is by far one of the cheesiest fighting games that I have played. It is the exact same game as any other Virtua Fighter, it simply has more characters. It is exceptionaly frustranting because it does not let you continue after you lose to Doral. If it takes you a half hour to get to the Bonus stage and you get your clock cleaned in two rounds you have to start over from the beginning. If you like to play a game that lacks in challenge until you fight in the Bonus Round than this is the game for you.

This game is not half as good as DOA on xbox. The graphics is not as smooth, the characters are very small and the moves are far less than spetacular. The special moves are not as interesting as the ones in DOA and different combinations look very similar to each other. Returned the game back to the shop. If you want to experience a really nice fighting game get DOA on xbox. This is the best fighting game I have experienced so far.

VF3 was an amazing leap from VF2 with reversals, the polygon count, fluid fighting motions and gameplay balance. VF4 feels like a dumbed down version of VF3, with double tap motions and jiggling joystick icons. After playing VF3 extensively for more than 3 years, mostly in the Arcade, but also on the Dreamcast, I found VF4 to be inane and graphically on par. VF3 was undoubtedly the best 3D fighting game of 95-99. VF4 will not hold this title due to a lack of innovation on the part of AM2.

To claim that Virtua Fighter 4's graphics are capable of "easily topping" Dead or Alive 3 is nonsense. Dead or Alive 3's realtime lighting effects, bump-mapped textures and smooth high resolution character models all running at a flawless 60 fps. While the buildings of VF4 are impressive, they merely serve as a backdrop for the match, no stage interaction like getting struck through walls.

The most astonishing thing is that AM2 chose the PS2 for a port of a technological showcase like Virtua Fighter 4. Hopefully Suzuki will utilize the next gen systems like the Xbox or Gamecube to make the best version of VF4.

One of the Best PS2 Games I've ever played!

When I first heard of Virtua Fighter 4 I thought it was just a regular fighting game, but as soon as I started playing I noticed how everything on this game was not regular. The graphics couldn't have been any more precise, the music went prefectly with the arenas, and the characters crystal clear moves were the all time best. You work your way up on your experience and get accessories, 2 different styles of clothes, and as you work your way up you can change your the colors of the clothes. Also, you can mix and match their clothes too. This is my favorite PS2 game out there. Try it today!!(or ASAP! :))
Also, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution with be coming out soon with 2 new characters!

The pinnacle of fighting games so far

This game embraces what a fighting game should, strategy, fast reflexes, and practice. It does not reward brutality, and it spits in the face of an over-aggressive player. This game relies on the gamer's discipline and knowledge. Sun-Tzu made the general statement that knowing yourself and your enemy is the only true path to complete victory, and that knowing only yourself will always lead to defeat, since the enemy will always remain unpredictable. This is one of the few fighting games in which you must not only be able to understand your own strategy, but also to acknowledge the strategy of your opponents. I believe that this is the greatest fighting game ever made, and that mastery of this game will make every other fighting game seem like child's play.

The drought of fighters for the PS2 is now a little easier to handle due to Sega bringing their top franchise to the machine.

Words do not do this game good. It's very hard to explain why this fighter is the best but I'll try.

It comes down to one thing in the end......Gameplay. And let me say the gameplay is the best for any fighting game to date. It's deep due to the amount of control each person has over their fighter. There's ring outs, side steps, counters, fully 3D movement with ease, walled arenas, great combos, throws, and reversals.

The is also great looking. Sega's AM2 can do no harm when it comes to devloping games. Everything from the fighters to the stages are great to look at. The only note would be the AA problems that are hard to pick up, but there.

There's enough for new comers and expert gameplayers of the series to enjoy here. Let me say, this is my 1st forey into the VF series and I'm glad I made the jump and the dission.

I have had this game for roughly three days and I am still shocked. This game is so amazing. It is accommodating enough for new players to feel comfortable learning, but complex enough to keep even the most avid fighting game player busy. I usually compare my 3D fighting games to the tekken series, and I must say, I think that I may have found a new standard.

It is true that there may be a few places where the physics could have been reworked in order to make it slightly more realistic (matrix jumping for instance) but when you get into the game, however, you won't even notice these problems. The gameplay in this game is superior to DO3 without question, and it is just more fun to play.

I recommend this game to gamers who enjoy taking the time to learn new fighting styles in games. This game does take time, but it is very, VERY satisfying.
