The graphics were excellent. The controls were outstanding. The improvement of this from the previous Gran Turismos is amazing. This game is definitely a keeper. One of the best PS2 games out right now. The game is a little difficult at first. But you'll get the hang of it fast. It is a fun game that enyone can enjoy.

This game is oustanding. I am not a fan of racing games and did not think i would like GT3. A lot of people told me to try it, so i just bought it since it is only ($$$). The minute i got home i began to play it and absolutely loved it. Wonderful graphics, great sound, and realistic physics. There is so much to do and tons of cars to buy. All of these features makes this racing game almost perfect. I recommend that you should buy this game, even if you are not a fan of racing games.

This is a very good game I recommend this game to everybody who owns a PS2. This game has a wide selection of cars including the Ford Mustamg SVT Cobra R. All I can say is I hope they have the Saleen Mustang on GT4.

One thing I admire most about this game is the realism...driving through curves at certain speeds do require proper gear-shifting and braking, and this game come pretty close. The graphics are great. The cars racing through the replays look nearly life-like. What would add more effect, though, would be if the cars actually get scrape marks, dents, and get totalled when you crash, but that's no big deal. This game is a whole lot of fun. I can't stop playing it. Getting the proper licenses to race certain tracks and earning enough credits to buy all those fancy cars are VERY difficult and nearly impossible (unless you cheat with a Gameshark), but it's a whole lot of fun and brings you an endless challenge. Trust me, this game will top any other racing game out there for PS2 (for now). After playing this game, you won't feel like playing any other. I have another racing game ... I played for several days,...it's collecting dust on my shelf now.

If you want to really experience a near life-like driving experience or racing simulation, you have to try this one. It's very difficult, though. If you are simply looking for entertaining game...try Twisted Metal Black.

I'd also like to add, it has a great soundtrack to it.

This game is a true classic. When i first reviewed this game almost 3 years back, i was a bit skeptical about its lack of cars next to GT2, and absence of innovation from its predecessor. But, once i spent a good amount of time with this game it was amazing how hooked i was once again. There are still huge amounts of cars to satisfy your every racing desire, and also the inclusion of a Rally License in the Simulation Mode. If you've never played the GT series before i highly suggest grabbing this one before GT4 releases (if these delays ever end). with the next hopefully 4-6 months, this may just be the only game you need to hold you over for GT4.

Why no "best times" records?

I love this game and have spent hours and hours racing. I am slowly working my way through all the levels and cars. But why, why has GT3 continued not to save best times for each course in the simulation mode? With all their other features it just seems a natural that this would be included and it would add one more challenge -- especially when you have raced the same course (forward and backward) for the 30th time. Overall however I have never been so fascinated by a racing video game (or really ANY game) for so long and every day I can't wait to get back to it --I admit it, I'm addicted. You will be too!

How incredible is this game? It's the best. It's so hard to schedule time to play my other games. I can't stop playing this one! There are so many cars to choose from. Maybe not quite as many as GT2, but when you see how perfect and real they look you'll understand why. And there are so many cups too choose from. The graphics are realistic! The cars are realistic! The physics are realistic! I even won a Formula racing car kind of early in the game. It's an awesome car, but when it made the game too easy to beat, I refused to use it anymore! I love the challenge to much!!! It's a sickness!! Help me stop!!

its only 20 bucks!! its great for its value even if it cost 50 bucks! the graphics are unbeatable and u feel the excitment in ur body every second u race. sure its a little hard. so there, u have a challenge.

This was my favorite racing game of all time until I played Project Gotham Racing 3, but that's another review. The graphics are great and still hold up to this day. The soundtrack is pretty good, and the car related sounds effects are good for the most part. The race tracks are all great and diverse. This a simulator so the physics engine is pretty realistic, but not to the extent of gran turismo 4 where it gets to the point where its not even fun. The game packs quite a challenge so be prepared. The car selection is immense and they are all very customizable. You can play this game for hours on end, its the best game in the gran turismo series plain and simple, and a contender for the best racing game ever depending on your playing style preferences. If you love racing games you probably already own this, but if not, go and pick it up now for cheap.

Ok, it's 2008 at the time of this review and this game is super old. So why did I just buy it a few months ago? I got it for my PS3, and yes it works fine on a PS3. But the comparison between this game and the new GT5 prologue is amazing. The graphics seemed so amazing when GT3 came out, and now you almost feel bad for the game as you watch the pixelated cars make their way around the track. Still, the game is fun and if you have an old PS2 unit, you need to own this game as well as GT4.

GT4 doesn't work well on PS3, which is why I bought this one, by the way.
