This game is a work of art, it`s something that should be on a exposition to have the graphics, music , plot be shown to everyone...
the game is terrific. i`m from Rio de janeiro, Brazil and i`m lucky to have this masterpiece on my shelf before xmas... i had a great surprised when i popped in the dvd on mu ps2.
First i saw the graphics...the engine can handle as much polygons as i have never seen on any game even at my gamecube and what a brilliant piece of artistry!! the cities are great, the charaters brilliant well-designed!
then i heard the music... it was great...the best in the series, just as the graphics!! the voices are OUSTANDING!!! tidus telling his thoughts along the game, auron with his strong presence, rikku with her happy voice and so on.the voices are the best on any game
and the story..... square reached the maturity on plot design.
the story, the relations of the heroes are as if they are real....

THE GAME HAS ONLY ONE FLAW!! THE LINEARITY, NOT THAT THIS IS BAD, BUT WHERE`S THE MAP? WHY THEY TOOK THE MAP I COULDN`T UNDERSTAND///

finally FINAL FANTASY X is one of the greatest games ever made
and represents a huge step in the game industry... and for square, the best softhouse.

I Own This Game.(U.S. Version)This Game Is The Best Game I Have Ever Played! Graphics And Game Play Are Both Awesome, And Like All Other Final Fantasy Games It Has A Battle System And An Upgrade System That Are Very Easy To Use. So If You Were Looking For A By Far Great Game This New Year Get Final Fantasy X.

My mom bought my dad FINAL FANTASY X and he played the game to about the middle then he stoped playing it so after about three weeks I started to play it and I love it!I love the grapics, the pepole, and my favirote parts Summoning and fighting with Yuna,Rikku,Lulu and Kimari. After I got a hang of playing the game my dad would watch me play and would always say that I could play the game preety good.I have beaten the game four times now and I started from the begining on all four games!Well I hope all the pepole who get this game love it as much as I do!!!!Bye Bye!(P.S. Don't let Yuna Die cause shes my favirote character)):-(

It's a good Game...BUT

I think it's a great game to play and as other have said before, it's very addicting. My kids keep wondering when they get a turn!
BUT, I felt there are way too many fight scenes, I don't mean this in a bad way, it's just there are too many of them. It seems like every couple movements, you fight something. I know it's not a bad thing because you do earn things...but I also think it's sometimes too much. and sometimes it feels as if they actually let your "partner" win a few of these fights by getting in the killing blow.
THEN, there's the story lines...don't get me wrong, I love a good story, but there are times I would rather get a move on then wait for the next 3 minute "break" in the game. Also,
On the PS2 version, I discovered, I have problems saving the game on the supplied memory card. Not sure if it's just my card, or if this may be a glitch...anyone else with this problem/glitch? Must admit, I am going to get the other FF games now too...and to think I bought the PS2 for the kids...

Truly....Amazing.....

This was an amazing game. Most of the fun of any other FF title with the graphics of the PS@. Some plusses are the new level up system (which would seem very confusing if I explained it here, but is actually quite simple. play the game and find out for yourself), the fact that the characters talk, amazing graphics, and an improvement on the GFs from FFVIII called Aeons. Some minuses...there's no world map, so exploring doesn't have the same thrill, some characters have abilities that are completely impractical (such as one character's ability to learn enemy attacks...that do almost no damage) and the lamea$$ minigame...blitzball, which is in essence, turn based football. And you HAVE to play this stupid waste to get some rare items. Oh well. It's definitely not like the FFVIII card game or the golden saucer in FFVII. This is a must have game, though. buy it now.

It is an interactive movie

I will start out with the apparently heretical statement that I was not a fan of the earlier final fantasy games. I am a big RPG fan, but please don't shoot, maim or otherwise attack me, because it is true. I found them all to be overly melodramatic, meandering, very predetermined, and frankly too much to sit through until the end. However, Final Fantasy X has hooked me.
That is the great thing about the PS2. I have tried several games that never interested or whose predecessors have failed to entertain on my PC or the PS one. This game falls into this category.
The major improvement is in the voicing and the movies. The story moves along with incredible cut scenes and plot exposition. No more reading along with out dated graphics and long load times. There is more room to wander for those of us who like the side quests. The battle system is much improved over the "real time" system, and now leads to more strategy and thinking during battles, not just fast paced button pushing and hoping for a good outcome. Yes, it is less realistic, but this is a game. The grid system for leveling up is major improvement, and you can spend considerable time weighing the pros and cons of each direction you can pursue and which locks to use up your key spheres on. Another place for fans of increasing the strategy.
All in all, the game can be tailored to whatever the player prefers. It can be fairly fast if you plow strait through to the end and (like I did) feel that the prior games got a bit tedious, I did it in about 45 hours. But, you can spend days traveling around with the side quests and some get extremely hard, and I have not completed them all yet.
To keep this short and not delve into all the technical stuff that most of us honestly don't care about, I will put it this way. The game is beautifully done, the right mix of gameplay and melodrama have been met, the controls are adequate and easy to learn, the strategy can become challenging, the music and movies are tremendous and the battle system is probably the best on the playstation 2.
All in all, this is like watching an interactive movie. It is challenging enough for the adults and entertaining enough for the kids. For PS2 RPG fans it has set the standard.

Another fine chapter in the Final Fantasy universe

As all the final fantasy games, this one is another outstanding game by Square. RPG games just don't get better than this. Technical wise, the graphics are just amazing, all the real time rendering is smooth and grogeous. The CG movies within the game is also superb. Another good thing is the voice acting, I think they did a good job and each character's voice is quite adaquet. Gameplay is similar to the other final fantasy games with few new changes, none of them really enhance the game experience that much. And finally, the story. I have to say, it is a little confusing, but did still reach the emotional level of the player, again like all the other final fantasy games.

Overall, this is just the PS2 game you have to own.

I love this game. There, had to be said. Love it. Love it. Love it. I am completley blown away at the huge effort and accomplishment that Square has put into this game. The techno-wizards have surpassed themselves once again. I think that whenever the industry sets a new standard, Square is the one company that they turn to. They certainly "toe" the line on this one.
I have read other reviews that take off points for no world map, no manual camera control, the sphere grid and the large amount of CG sequences. I think that these things only add to the story and the level of enjoyment that one can get from this game. I am pleased with the final product and am happy with the gameplay and story and graphics.
Square manages to innovate and change with the times, while still maintaining a level of sameness and consistency. While the new systems seem to be confusing at first, they are easily mastered and well executed. I havent had to read the instruction book one time while playing this game.
I am in awe of the story and the movie elements that are employed in the making of this product. I am glad that square has made an "interactive movie" as some are prone to calling it. I play games for the story and fun factor. This game has a great story and an awesome level of fun.
Some have criticized Square for not making this game a "fantasy" game with dragons and goblins and wizards. Big deal. FF7 and FF8 were futuristic and technological in their settings. FF9 went back to the more traditional roots of fantasy and sorcery and dungon-esqe environments. FF10 has taken another turn. Each of these games is fun, and each is a true marvel in and of itself. Who cares if the title says "Fantasy" or not. This series is the best selling game series of all time. There must be a reason for this.
The true ability of a game to captivate and enthrall an audience does not lie in its graphics or setting or voice-acting. It lies in the story and gameplay...this game has both at an awesome 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Get this game...spent many hours if enjoyment unlocking its secrets and hidden quests. You won't be dissapointed...I wasn't.
